Stacked Sweet Ampersand Love

I had a very low key day yesterday. I had good intentions once again to get some stuff done, like decorate the tree. Unfortunately I failed to remember where I put the decorations when I moved so I decided to make it a crafty day and I got a bunch of cards made instead. Were they Christmas cards you might inquire? Of course not! They were thank you and birthday cards that I have needed to make. I’ll get around to the Christmas cards, hopefully! It was definitely a relaxing day so not bad for a Sunday! I hope that you had a nice day too!

So, occasionally my brain does weird things, for example today I have a valentine card. Why is that odd? Well it’s Christmas but when I looked at the date yesterday and saw it was the 14th it triggered Valentine’s Day! Like I said… weird! LOL! The card is packed full of new goodies so that makes up for it! The base of the card is Crisp Cantaloupe Card Stock. The background is a piece of Real Red. I used an element from the new Mini Treat Bag Thinlit* to cut out the hearts along the bottom of the panel. I then used the Ampersand Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and traced around it with a Copic Multi-liner Marker. My greeting is from the You Plus Me Stamp Set* and is heat embossed on Vellum in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the Hearts Collection Framelits. Some very carefully placed 2-Way Glue adheres it to the card. The teeny bow on top is made with the Bow Builder Punch and a piece f paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack*. I used Sticky Strip to put the bow together and a Glue Dot to adhere it to the card. Like I said packed with new goodies! I hope that you enjoyed the sneak peek and early Valentine’s card! Thank you of checking and I wish you a very good Monday! 🙂

    1. Thanks Kelly! Yes, that DSP is really cool! Mmm… jelly beans, and only the red ones! LOL! Hope that you had a very happy Monday! 🙂

  2. Justin, Love the card. I always like the extra staging you add to your pictures. How DID you have jelly beans this time of year??? Haha. I’ve noticed all the different berry baskets you use also, so now that we have the new die you can make some use. Hugs!!! Have a great day

    1. Thanks you Carol! I always like to keep some jelly beans around just in case of an emergency! And yes, I can make my own berry baskets!! LOL! Not a bad idea! Hope that your day was great too! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin—I love this card! I love making Valentine’s cards so this one is right up my alley. 😉 I have got to get that little bow punch, so cute. And I’m loving your props today too…mmmm jelly beans! Love those! Have a great Monday!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thanks! I like Valentine’s cards too! Spread a little love! The bow punch is really cute and the bows come out perfect! Who doesn’t like a jelly bean, especially the red ones! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin:

Love the mini bow and the way you layered the embossed heart over the ampersand! I should probably start thinking Valentine’s Day cards as it’s less than two months away but I just can’t get my mind unwrapped from making Christmas cards. It seems like I just finished making Valentine cards a few weeks ago but I know it was a year or more last time I made one. Time just rushes by once you are retired…………don’t know where the days go. LOL

Hope you have a great day today. Hugs – 🙂 Hey, why not make a bunch of those mini bows and decorate your tree with them. I bet the bows combined with some popcorn strung “tinsel” would look fabulous and oh so original!

    1. Hello Grace!
Thanks! You know how I enjoy a little vellum! And I like that ampersand folder with it traced in! I can’t get my mind wrapped around Christmas cards and I really need to! I look forward to having time rush by because there is no more work! LOL!
I was going to make my decorations and then time just got away! I really need to find my ornaments and soon! I hope that your Monday was good, mine wasn’t too bad! Hugs!! XO 🙂

  5. Hmmm, you are a little ahead of the game with a Valentine. Even so, it’s a great card! I love that little bow maker.

  6. LOL I am glad I am not the only person who puts things away in safe places and I cant remember where. This card is AWESOME!!! I love SU new Valentine line, and that mini bow punch is on its way to my home!

    1. Ha! Don’t you love when you can’t find things Linda?! Safe place indeed! Thank you! I’m happy that you enjoyed my early Valentine! 🙂
