Freshly Made Sketches 170

Woo hoo!! It’s Friday my friends! The best part about this Friday is that I’m off from work for a whole week and will be heading to Florida on Sunday! Wee! I can’t wait to be in the warmer weather and see all of my friends! Yesterday wasn’t too bad here, it was sunny for most of the day and not too cold. Dinner last night for my Brother was made even more fun by little Daniel! He tried his first lemon! I had to share the video because his face is just great…

The best part is that even though he makes the lemon face he just keeps on eating it! He is just the cutest! Tonight I have a class at Scrap-A-Latte, that should be great fun! Looking forward to making some neat cards! I’m going to try and go see my friend Shane after the class since I will be out that way. Looks to be a very good Friday indeed! 🙂

My little time spent in the Stampin’ Galley last night yielded today’s card which is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 170

I have these dies from Simon Says Stamp that I have been dying to use and I thought this layout would work perfectly! The card base for today is Very Vanilla Card Stock and my background is a piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack. Across the lower middle of the card is a piece of Gold Metallic Card Stock adhered with some 2-Way Glue. I used some Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler to cut out the Sketch Heart from Simon and inlaid the two together and adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The Sending is also a Simon die and is cut from Whisper White and heat embossed with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. Some more 2-Way Glue adheres it to the heart and completes the card. I love the heart and that embossing powder is just so nice and sparkly! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you very much for coming by today! I hope that you all have an absolutely fantastic Friday! 🙂

  3. Good Morning Justin!

Daniel is so darned cute! I think I make the same kind of faces when I eat a lemon. I love them but oh boy, they do shake up the old taste buds! LOL Thanks so much for sharing that video, it’s always so much fun to watch little kids trying something for the first time.

The Adventure Bound stack has such gorgeous papers and your card really shows this plaid off in style. The heart from Simon Says is so different and adds the perfect accent to the paper. Really neat.

You have yourself an amazing trip to Florida this week. I know you will have lots of fun and can’t wait to see what you have to share with us. Today will probably drag a bit as you are anxious to head out but don’t rush it. Anticipation is a fantastic thing. Love and hugs from Maine! 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!

Any gal would love to receive it as well. Oh my–that’s such a cute video of Daniel. He’s just darling! Thanks for sharing that with us. I’m sure he’ll thank you some day as well. Or not! Hope your day flies by today. I saw the weather forecast for the weekend for your area…keeping my fingers crossed for your safe travels! 1. Hi Karen!
A very happy Friday to you too! Thank you! I had fun making the card and yes, the Simon dies are just too cool! I had to share the video, love that little guy! My day was good and the evening was so much fun! I think that I should be ok, the weather is supposed to be on Saturday and I’m leaving Sunday! I can’t wait to get there! 🙂

  5. Have a wonderful week. Enjoy! Take lots of pictures.

I like this card very much. I like the blacks and reds for a more (in my opinion) masculine vs. feminine Valentin card, which are hard to come up with.
    🙂

  6. Love your card Justin. I love plaids with black and red. But Daniel? He is the cutest! What a sweet boy. I love his expressions and then he kept on eating, but only as long as HE could hold it. Adorable! Thanks for the smiles this morning. 🙂

    1. Thank you Bobbi! The DSP is great! Thanks, he really is just too cute! His face was priceless and yes, he did like it, I guess?! He always has to be the one in control… wonder where he gets that from?! LOL! Glad I got to make you smile! 🙂

  7. I love this rustic-looking heart with the masculine plaid dsp. And that gold embossing powder — very cool! It’s always good to see one of your cards in our gallery at FMS, Justin!

    1. Thank you Amy! That dies form Simon is so neat and the embossing powder is fun! I hope that you have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

  8. Daniel is adorable, this video reminds me of when my daughter would eat lemons, (she still does but its not as cute anyomore)Adulthood somehow changes things, LOL

Love this card, Is the Heart a memory box die, gret color combos. Have a great time in Flordia, hope you get out of NY before the weather acts up

    1. Thank you Linda! It really is great to be able to capture all of these moments now that we all have smartphones! LOL! I’m sure that your daughter is just as cute! 😉
