Jason’s Birthday Card

Today’s the day! I’m off to the airport in a little while to head down to Orlando for a week! Andrew will be taking me. It will be nice to be somewhere a little warmer! My trip into Manhattan was nice yesterday morning. I met the girls for breakfast at the diner and then we just went back to Kim’s apartment and sat around and laughed! I got back home around 3:00 and started to work on the rest of my projects that I needed to get finished. Last night I realized that I didn’t have a suitcase with wheels on it that worked so I went to BJ’s and picked one up. I stopped in at Michaels to see Taylor and then came home and packed. Now all of you keep your fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly at the airport. We remember what happened the last time that I flew jetBlue right?!?! I’m sure that it will be a nice smooth day!

As promised today I’m sharing that card that I made for my brother for his birthday. It’s a nice simple masculine card and I even managed to sneak on some ribbon! The card base is Lost Lagoon Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Banners Framelits to cut out another piece of Lost Lagoon to serve as the backing for my main panel. I used the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set to stamp the car and the greeting in Memento Tuxedo Black on a piece of Soft Suede. Before I adhered the panel to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals I flagged a piece of the 7/8″ Natural Cotton Ribbon and adhered it to the banner with Fast Fuse. A nice simple masculine birthday card wouldn’t you agree?! I hope that you like the card as much as my brother did. Thanks for stopping by and I’ll speak to you tomorrow from Florida! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin, your big day is finally here! I’m so excited for you, travel safe and have fun! Jason’s card is great – very manly 😉 We’re off to the beach early in the morning for Australia Day, for a short service and breakfast, then a barbecue lunch with friends. I’m taking prawns (shrimp), can’t get much more Aussie than that! Look forward to seeing your photos from Florida! Cheers Justin xxx

    1. Hello Kelly!
Yes, and I am replying to your comment while on the plane! LOL! Thank you! The card has to be manly for my brother! 🙂
I hope that you have a nice day at the beach for Australia Day! I love prawns (mum is English so I know what they are!) I would love some pics from Aus so I can post them!! 🙂

  2. What a great time to go down South! Hope your trip goes smoothly. Very happy for you. Enjoy!
Jason’s card is very nice. I like the layout and the colors.
    🙂

  3. Hi Justin! Have a wonderful time in Florida! I know you will! Relax and enjoy yourself! Love your card! That Guy Greetings set is a good one! It’s so versatile. We woke up to a little bit of snow here…maybe a few inches we are supposed to get. It has been a rather mild winter for us and we almost to the end of January. Spring will soon be here! Send some of the sunshine and warmth our way and here’s hoping you have a safe flight today with no speed bumps!

    1. Hello Karen from 34,000 feet!
I am enjoying the flight and I will do my best to relax!! Thank you! The Guy Greetings is definitely a favorite of mine along with that DSP! They are supposed to get a lot of snow tomorrow night in NY. Got out just in time! Spring cannot come fast enough! So far, a nice smooth flight! 🙂

      1. Hi Justin—You made me laugh with your comment. Can you imagine where technology will take us in the next 5 or 10 years? I’m sure you’re having a blast in Florida. Wish we could all be there with you!

        1. Hi Karen! I really can’t believe how bad the Wi-Fi is here!! It’s Disney! LOL! I am looking forward to seeing where technology will take us! You know how much I love it! I am having the best time down here! I don’t want to go home! I wish you were here too! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin.
Jason’s card is really handsome, love the colors and the car.
Safe travels today and hope there’s lots of Florida sunshine for you to take in!

  5. Hi Justin,
You are on a roll with seriously masculine cards lately. I LOVE them!! It’s great to have a guys perspective on cards. This is a set I’ve been trying not to buy but you are convincing me otherwise.
Hope you have a great time in Orlando. Nice to get away from this cold.

    1. Hi Gerri!
Thank you! I do enjoy making them and I’m glad that you like having a guys take on them! I love the set, lot’s of great guy images! I’m looking forward to being in Florida!! 🙂

  6. Good morning Justin:
Love Jason’s birthday card and I’m sure he loved it too! You have made fantastic use of those banner framelit dies. This card couldn’t be more masculine. I just love it. Framing the car stamp with the big banner framelit is absolutely perfect and made me realize how many fantastic cards can be made with just this one die. Thank you for the insight.

So – you’re getting “out of Dodge” just before our first “blizzard” (hey, that’s what the National Weather Service is calling it) hits. In this area it is supposed to start tomorrow night into Tuesday and possibly Wednesday. They are talking about 18″+in our area. The hubs is in CT for a funeral and better get his butt back here because I have no idea how to run the snow blower that is attached to the yard tractor. As it is he is coming home to about 6″ in the driveway. I think he doesn’t want to teach me because the yard tractor is his toy and he doesn’t want to share! LOL

You have a safe and exciting trip this week. It will be such fun to hear about all your adventures. Will be thinking about you every day. Hugs! XO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you! He actually did really like it! He is a car guy so I thought the image would be perfect! Love those Banner Framelits!
Yes! I am getting out just in time! We have about an hour left of flying time until we land in Orlando. Isn’t modern technology great! I wish hubby safe travels back to you! I think that it’s better that you don’t know how to use the snowblower, less work! They are supposed to get about 18″ in NY too. They can have all they want while I’m gone!
I have my cards for the week all ready to go so I’ll post them along with pictures of my adventures! Enjoy the rest of your day my friend! XO 🙂

  7. Love your card Jason. I am in need of masculine cards and one like this would be perfect!! I hope to see you in Orlando. Have a great time going to Disney!

    1. Thank you Sandy! I hope to see you too! Keep a lookout for me! I’m usually with the really tall guy! LOL! 🙂

  8. Cool bithday card, i’m sure he appreciated it. Especially like how you made an additionalbanner from the ribbon.

I CASed your Valentine card from earlier this week for my DT project. I didn’t have the Simpon heart die and I used a digi image but the color combo and layout was fantastic. Thanks.

Enjoy the warmth of Flordia, I’m jealous. I cant wait to see what you bring back to share

    1. Thank you Linda! I had fun making it and yes, he really liked it! Glad that you liked the card!! I really do love that Simon die though!
I am loving Florida! I would like to stay! LOL! 🙂
