Painted Stacked Love

I do love a productive Saturday! In the morning I relaxed a bit and then watched some videos on YouTube, craft videos of course! Around 10:45 I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte with Taylor to go and see Renee. She had a crop going so there were lots of people to chat with. I also got to see all of the new Catalogs that she brought back from CHA. The one thing that stands out in my mind is this really cooky crazy bird set from Tim Holtz called Bird Crazy, I will definitely be needing that one! We stopped by Michaels and Home Goods and the grabbed some Pizza and paid a little visit to AC Moore. I got a bigger watercolor paint set, I have really been into watercoloring lately, and picked up a few new props. I spent a few hours crafting and then Danielle came by so we go to the work holiday party at our CEO’s house. It’s nice to see people outside of the office, you get to experience a whole other side of them. Sometimes that can be a great thing and sometimes not, but it was a good time none the less! Today it’s supposed to rain all day so I will be spending some more quality time crafting! What better way to spend a rainy Sunday?! How about you, what are you up to today?

Here is another video from the Sam Smith concert. This song is called Latch and he usually does the acoustic version, which he starts off with, but then, well, you’ll see!

My card that I made for today’s post has a Valentine feel to it but could definitely be used for so much more. It was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest. I started off with a Whisper White Card Base and added a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe for the background. Some Whisper White is punched with the Ornate Tag Topper Punch for my larger tag. I stamped the lines and greeting from the Painted Petals Stamp Set in Crisp Cantaloupe and Memento Tuxedo Black. The second smaller tag is a piece of paper from the Stacked with Love DSP Stack that I punched out with the Note Tag Punch. My Silver Glimmer Paper Heart is the Sweetheart Punch and the heart from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits combined. I punched the inside and then used the Thinlit to cut around it. Another heart is punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. I heat embossed yet another heart from the You Brighten My Day Stamp Set in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched that one out too. The large heart is adhered with some Multi-Purpose Glue and the smaller ones with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I tied the two tags together with some black hemp cord twine and used a silver Mini Metallic Clothespin to hold them to another piece of the Stacked with Love DSP. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back then hold that to the card. I love the two tags together and that silver sliver glimmer heart (say that fast three times!)! The card would make a fun Valentine but I think that you could definitely use it for a birthday or even a thank you! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card! Thank you for stopping by to catch up and have a very crafty Sunday! 🙂

  1. Good morning Justin- I really like this card. All the layers are fantastic and the double tags really look great together. I so agree that card will work for many different occasions.
A rainy Sunday is perfect for crafting. I know you will have a creative and fun day.
Thanks for the Sam video- great way to start the day!

    1. Hello Marty!
Thanks! I love when you can make a card that would work for more than one thing! I will definitely use the layout again, I too love the two tags together! I did have a very crafty Sunday, I didn’t leave the house! Glad that you enjoyed the Sam video! He’s so great! I hope that you had a nice day! 🙂

  2. Thanks for sharing some of your Sam Smith Vids with us. It must have been amazing to witness that show
in person. Watching vids are not the same as the excitement of being there. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    1. You are very welcome Carolyn! He is amazing and yes it’s much better to see him live! The next time he comes to OZ you should definitely get tickets! I hope that you had a nice weekend! 🙂

  3. Super cute! Love the colors and all the fun layers. Sounds like yesterday was a complete craft-fest!

    1. Thank you Maryjo! I got some Royal Langnickel watercolors in tubes. I can’t wait to give them a try! 🙂

  4. I love the name Scrap-A-Latte! What a clever lady Renee must be! LOL Sounds like yesterday was just perfect. I love to shop when I don’t have anything in particular in mind. When I go out for something specific it seems I can never find it but if I’m just browsing around I come up with the most amazing deals.

You’re card today is so intricate I have to ask – How long did it take you to make this one? I love all the different forms of hearts especially the little red embossed one. When you are die cutting do you just do a bunch of extras of whatever you are cutting to use latter?

I’m spending the day working on a breast cancer quilt for my oldest daughter’s 50th birthday. I always put a lot of myself into making a quilt but this one is extra, extra, extra special since she is a survivor and a fighter for all who endure this horrid disease. Then I will make a card to match the quilt. That is always a challenge but one that is fun to do.

Hope you have a Superb Sunday Justin. Snow, rain and wind forecast for our neck of the woods. A good day to stay home and relax. 🙂

    1. Yes Grace, Scrap-A-Latte is a great name! Renee is a very clever, kind and fun person! Yesterday was a very nice day indeed! Lots got done and I love that! I too find it nice to just go shopping! Although, I should really stop! LOL!
I’m very happy that you enjoyed the card! It didn’t take too long, maybe 30-40 minutes. I don’t usually do extras but sometimes if I don’t use something I keep it with the intention of using it on another card. Doesn’t always happen!
Sounds like you are going to have a good day! I’m so glad that your daughter is well and what better gift to get than something that is filled with love!
My Sunday was spent in the Stampin’ Galley so it was very good indeed! Now I am going to watch some TV and do nothing! XOXO 🙂

  5. WOW!!! This is fantastic. Love the card, very simple background and the tag says it all!!

We have another beautiful day here, not as warm as yesterday, only 36 but sunny and the snow is melting. Hd to spend sometime time outside. Got my card made for my Design Team project, and lets see where Mojo takes me.

    1. Thanks very much Linda! It was rainy here all day but not too cold which I’ll take! Hope that your Mojo kicked in! 🙂

  6. Hey Justin, this card is SO pretty! There’s so many different features in it, but it’s not TOO much – just perfect, as usual! Another cool video, I had to look up what disclosure was, I was waiting for another singer to jump onto the stage, lol! Sam has such a big range to his voice! I just LOVE the ‘J’ next to your card – that kind of faded, French looking script design is my absolute favourite. I have a fair bit of it around my house, beautiful 🙂 Happy Monday to you Justin xoxo

    1. Hello Kelly!
Thank you so much! I love tags and whats better than two! LOL! I have the Disclosure album and the rest of their music is quite different from the one with Sam. He does have an amazing vocal range! When I first heard Latch I thought that two different people were singing it! I love that J, but I am a little obsessed with my initials! I was bummed that I couldn’t find the K! A happy Monday to you too! XOXO 🙂

  7. Hi Justin,
I’ve just caught up with your last few posts and news. The cards are brilliant I like the silver heart on today’s with the saying. It sounds like you have had a crafty weekend which is always a great way to spend it when weather is bad.

    1. Hello Michelle!
Yay! Glad that you are all caught up! I did have a crafty weekend, one of my favorites kinds! 🙂

  8. Sorry sending two messages again, I need to sort it out! The concert looks amazing and what a great place for a concert? Do you go to see things often there? It’s another NY place on my list when I visit, maybe along with Scrap-A-Latte too!

    1. No need to apologize Michelle! The concert was fantastic! I do go to Madison Square Garden a fair bit. Yes! When you come I will take you to MSG and Scrap-A-Latte! 🙂
