Pals Paper Arts 237

So, yesterday at work was my last day in that department. When I get back from vacation I start a new job as a Project Manager for a software program that keeps all of the agencies records. It’s bittersweet because I really liked the people that I worked with but this a is a new adventure and change is always good right?! My old department took me out to lunch and it was really nice. I will miss them for sure. Last night I had a class at the Scrapbook store for my friend Renee. It was so much fun! There were 18 people and we made four cards and a tag. What a lovely bunch of people! Here are a few pictures…

Lots of fun and a nice way to spend a Friday night! You can visit the Scrap-A-Latte blog here! I’m off to Manhattan for a bit this morning to go see my friend Kim and her sister Angie and their friend Dawn. I haven’t been to Manhattan for a while and I’m looking forward to some breakfast at the diner! 😀

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 237

Nice and simple! My card base is Mossy Meadow Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper from the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper. It’s a little hard to see in the picture but some of those cool watercolor balloons are actually gold foil! Great DSP! I took a piece of Night of Navy and used the Simon Says Stamp Circle Border Die to create the perforated panel along the bottom. My greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Bermuda Bay. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the panel and the greeting to the card. Not too complicated and the DSP is just so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge and my pictures from the card class! Thank you so much for coming by and have a super Saturday! 🙂

  1. Good Morning Justin. Congratulations on your new job. Sounds like a new exciting challenge for you.
You are such a busy guy, looks like a great turn out for the class last night.
The birthday card is really cute , the DSP is really nice!
Have a super Saturday in the big Apple!

    1. Hello Marty!
Thank you! I’m looking forward to doing something different for a while.
Yes, I’m busy but I like it that way. Class was great, everyone seemed to have a really good time!
That DSP Is fun and we all need simple from time to time!
I had a nice morning with my friends and hope that your day was a good one! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin! Congrats on the new job!! Change is good and I’m sure your new co-workers will be just as nice as the previous ones were! Love seeing the pics of the workshop last night! Wow, 18 people is a great turnout. Are you going to do that again? I’d love to see the pics of what was made. Your card is great today! I love the Crazy About You set…it’s so versatile and you can make so many different sayings. I’ve been using that little bear from Cheerful Critters and this stamp set to put all kinds of sayings in his sign he’s holding. I love that dsp and the fact you used the Mossy Meadow as your base. Another cool die from Simon Says!! Have a great time in the city…you know how much we LOVE your pics! Are ya packed yet? 😉

    1. Hello Karen!
Thank you! Change is inevitable! The class was pretty full and it was a lot of fun. I will pst the pictures of the cards next week. Glad that you like today’s card! The stamp set has so many great greetings and I love that they are all separate! I still have to get the Cheerful Critters! Simon has some really great dies! I have quite a few! The city was fun this morning! I actually just finished packing… sort of! LOL! 🙂

  3. Justin, Great card! Love that dsp and the Crazy About You set is great for sentiments.
Good Luck with your new job. It sounds very interesting. Is that why you moved to a new office? I’m sure you will do very well there.
Have fun in the city today. We have about 5 inches of snow here in Jersey.

    1. Thank you Gerri! The DSP and the stamp set are really neat!
Thanks! I am looking forward to taking on a new challenge. No, I have to move my office again to a tiny one, oh well.
The city was good and I enjoyed seeing my friends! We got about 3 on the island and they even had snow in Manhattan left when I got there! 🙂

  4. WOW! 4 cards and a tag! How long was the class? 18 people is a lot to get in one class, at least for this area – well, I should say “used to be” since all the stamping stores around here have gone by the wayside. Renee’s store looks huge and everyone looks like they are having a great time! Yea for you! Thanks for sharing the photos, it’s always fun to see what other crafters are up to!

Boy Justin, your new title sounds like you are going to have some serious responsibilities. Good for you! Nice way to move up within the company. Is your new office physically far away from your old department or will you still be able to see those co-workers every day? Does this mean you don’t get to run to the Apple Store every once in a while? LOL I know, questions, questions, questions.

You couldn’t have chosen a better paper for this birthday card. I mean really, what is a birthday without lots of balloons! Aren’t the papers in this DSP just fabulous?

You have a fantastic time in Manhattan today and of course, an even more fantastic time in Florida. You just know we all want to see photos. Have fun my friend…………will be thinking of you! HUGS, 🙂

    1. LOL! It was about 2 1/2 hours Grace! It was a lot of people but it was so much fun! The store is a really nice size, it will get a little smaller when she gets more stock in.
I am actually right down the hall from my old co-workers. My new office is shared with a few other people and to be honest I don’t like it but what can you do?! Nope, no more trips to Apple. Bummer.
I do love the DSP, all of the ballon are fun!
Manhattan was great and I loved just having breakfast with my friends and then just sitting around and chatting! I can’t wait to get on the plane! LOL! Warmer weather here I come! I’ll have lots of pictures, I promise! Hugs to you my friend! 🙂

  5. Congratulations on the promotion! My son is in that line of work too so I know a little of what you do. Your card today is so simple yet it packs a punch of color and sentiment. My big order is sitting at my demo’s house waiting for me to get out and get it, maybe Monday. You won’t believe what I did! I know I can’t believe it myself. In my zeal to clean out my stamping room, I gave away all my current 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock by accident! Now I have to figure out if I have any current cs left and what I have to spend my precious money on ordering. I think I will start with assorted packs. Oh my! What a jerk thing to do! Have a great time in Florida! I hope the weather is better there — it snowed here last night. Be safe, my friend! Love & hugs, Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! It will be fun to do something different at work. I like the simplicity of the card and the DSP is just fun! I admire you being able to wait to go and pick up your order, I would have to get it right away! LOL! Oh no!! That’s not good that you gave away all of your paper! I am going to have a lot of fun in Florida! Can’t wait to get there! It snowed here too. Hugs to you my friend! 🙂

  6. Justin, congratulations on your new job. Yes, change is good or so I think anyway. I have been without a job for a little over three years, not that I haven’t tried to get one, but finally this week I was hired for a permanent full time job. Am I ecstatic or what. Good luck to you in your new position. I love your card by the way. Oh and I will be in Florida as well, so I do hope I get to see you.

    1. Thank you Sandy! Congrats on your new job!! Good for you! Glad that you enjoyed the card today! I will be looking for you, if you see me first flag me down!! 🙂

  7. Congrats on the job! Change is always bittersweet. Love this creation, really like that cicrle border…. may need this. LOL Have a safe trip, cant wait to see what goodies you bring back

It looks like a lot of fun at the class last night with fun friends. I have just seen the video of Daniel, OMG he is so gorgeous and funny how he kept going back for more. Definitely made me smile. Have a good time in Orlando. Take care, Michelle xo

    1. Hello Michelle!
Thank you! I hope that I like it too! LOL! Yes, I am moving again! The card is simple but I’m glad that you like it!

  9. Hey Justin, congratulations on your new job! Well done – I hope you enjoy it! Sorry I didn’t get to drop in yesterday, Daniel’s video is adorable, so funny that he kept going back for more lemon, Lol! The class looks fun, that shop is huge! I went to a party yesterday, it was nice to catch up to stamp and chat with my stampin friends (and I ordered the vellum and those feathers, finally) 🙂 Today’s card is very cool, would be great for any age! Well, I hope you have the most awesome time in Florida, can’t wait for the photos!! Enjoy your week. Cheers Justin xxx 😀

  13. We have more in common than I knew! Actually, other than SU! I don’t know that we really have anything in common – except that we like to have fun, and now that we’re both project managers. I’ve done IT PM work for quite a few years in my corporate life. And, of course, my new business circles a lot around IT PM too. I guess we’ll have to talk at Leadership, huh?! See you soon, sweetie! (Oh, and thanks for playing along with PPA this week!) 🙂

    1. I am looking forward to starting the new job and seeing what it’s all about. Yes, we will have to talk! Looking forward to seeing you!! 🙂
