SUO Challenges 114

It was a very rainy and dreary Monday here on Long Island today. Although the rain did make it a bit warmer than it has been. Like I always say I’ll take rain over snow any day! Work was work, nothing special. I came home and had dinner and then made my card for today. I ran over to Kim’s for a quick visit and that was pretty much it. Nothing exciting to report, a quiet sort of day. How are things by you? I’m getting ready to go and See sam Smith on Thursday at Madison Square Garden with Andrew. Kim and Brian also got tickets! It is going to be a great show and I can’t wait!!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Lots of Dots challenge. I sat there for a minute thinking about what I was going to use and then I remembered a certain Designer Series Paper that fit the bill. Today’s card uses a base of Whisper White Card Stock. The panel is a piece of Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper backed with some Basic Gray. I stamped the ampersand from the You Plus Me Stamp Set in Strawberry Slush and punched it out with the Note Tag Punch. A piece of Strawberry Slush Thick Baker’s Twine is tied in a bow and the tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Some Silver Glimmer Paper is punched out with the Sweetheart Punch and adhered in the upper right. My greeting is from the And Many More Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Strawberry Slush and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Some more Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it and the heart the card. A few 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins finish off the card. A nice simple eclectic Valentine for that someone special! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Lots of Dots challenge. Take a minute to stop by the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done and enter your project in the gallery. Thanks so much for coming by to see me today. Enjoy your Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Wow Justin, Sam Smith in concert – you must be SO excited! I LOVE his Stay With Me, what a beautiful song that is! Hope you have an awesome time! I’m seeing One Direction next month, for the second time, lol! They put on a great show 😉 Now, to your card… It’s just gorgeous! The basic gray is perfect for the confetti celebration paper – dont you just love the names they come up with for their products and colours! Someone gets paid for sitting around inventing descriptive names – where would I get a job like that!?! Cheers Justin – 2 sleeps to go 😀 xxx

    1. YES Kelly! I’m so excited!! Stay with Me is excellent but I absolutely love every song on his album and the cover that he did of Whitney Houston’s How Will I Know is amazing! One Direction! That sounds like a great time!! You’ll have to let me know how it is! Thank you! I love the simplicity of the card! I do love the names that Stampin’ Up! comes up with! Some of them are a bit long but they are all neat! I would definitely like that job! Yes, only one sleep to go until Sam! XOXO 🙂

  2. Oh, Sam Smith! I remember you said you were going — I can’t believe it’s time. I would fly in to go to that concert. You are beholden to give us a full report! Maybe you can use being a Stampin’ Up demo “VIP” to go backstage to meet him — okay, it’s just a thought…
I don’t know why I am not a heart person with all the pinks, but I do like your card today. Maybe it’s the silver and the DSP. Love that paper and all the glimmer papers!
You had wanted to know if your photo is in the background of your blog. Yes, it is but very little around the edges. I wish more showed as it is such a beautiful picture.
Well, have a happy Tuesday! The sun just poked through the snow flurries here. (You are our SU “VIP”!) Nancy B

    1. Yes Nancy! Time did fly! I will definitely give you a full repot and try to take some pictures! Wouldn’t that be so cool to get to go and meet him?!
Thanks! I like a little heart every now and again! I prefer them in reds or glimmer paper! I think that depending on what resolution that you have your monitor set at determines how much of the picture you can see. I hope that you had a nice day! It was very cold here but sunny so it was all good! Thank you! I’m happy to be your Stampin’ Up! VIP! XO 🙂

  3. Hi Justin! I love your card today…it has my name written all over it! 😉 Hearts, sequins and glimmer paper! So pretty. I love the way you used the ampersand on the tag. So clever! Ok…I’m extremely jealous that you are heading to see Sam Smith. I would love to see him! Can’t wait to hear all about it! The sun is shining here today which helps it to not feel as cold as it really is. Hope your day is going well!

    1. Hi there Karen!
Thank you! It’s a fun collage card but not too busy! I am so excited that I get to see Sam again!! He was amazing last time and I’m sure will be even better this time! It’s chilly but sunny here too! I had a nice day, hope that you did too! 🙂

  4. Love love love this! Awesome, I love hearts, the colors are fantastic and you even hid a tag in there. Great job.

Oh you will have an awesome time.

Cold but sunny, trade you for your rain?

    1. Thank you Linda! I did sneak a tag in, love tags!
Can’t wait for the concert!! It was very cold here today but sunny! Sorry, no warmer rain to trade! 🙂

  5. Thank you for reminding me that a portion of an image can be as interesting as the entire image!
