Welcome to frigid Friday! Yes, this is technically my second post for today! It’s one of those rare occasions where the Control Freaks Blog Tour falls on a day where I have a Design Team post the next day! So it’s also bonus Friday! LOL! Yesterday was quite chilly but nothing compared to this morning with a high of 1, yes 1 degree! Yikes! With the wind chill it’s around -10! Double yikes! But yesterday Daniel was at my parents again! He was extra happy and he had his shirt on that I got him from Disney! Here we are, it’s been a while since we had a selfie!
I just can’t take how adorable he is! And he knows to smile for the camera! LOL! So, it’s Friday, I’ll be happier at 4:00 when work is done! I’m off to see Renee tomorrow and then into Manhattan on Sunday to see Isabella and Kim. Should be a good weekend! It’s supposed to rain on Sunday but be in the 40’s, I’ll take that! What are you all up to this weekend?
So my next card for today is for the Fab Friday challenge and this time around we have a sketch for you…
This was one of those sketches that I knew what I was going to do as soon as I saw it! I had the square cut out for a few days and just had to put the rest of the card together! The card base is Pool Party Card Stock. My shaker in the middle is a piece of Pool Party with a piece of Gold Fancy Foil Designer Vellum on top. They are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and Stitched Circles Dies. I backed it with a piece of Window Sheet. The stamp is form the Starburst Sayings Stamp Set and is stamped in Early Espresso on Very Vanilla. I used a double layer of Foam Tape to enclose the gold sequins and seed beads. Two pieces of Gold Glimmer Paper are cut out with the Banners Framelits and then again with the Stitched Circles and adhered on either side of the frame. I love all of the sparkle from the shaker and the colors remind me of Tiffany’s! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday sketch challenge. Stop by the blog to see what the rest of the design team has done with the sketch and make a card of your own to enter in the gallery! Thanks so much for spending some extra time with me today! Have a fabulous Friday and for the rest of you that are in the deep freeze, stay warm! 🙂

Awesome picture. He’s a cutie pie! And I just adore the shaker card. Gotta love gold!
Thank you Nina! I love him to pieces! Glad that you like the card! Have a great weekend! 🙂
Gorgeous! Love all those delicious sequins and seed beads!
Thank you very much Sandy! 🙂
The gold & blue is just lovely and I bet the sparkle in real life is fantastic! Stay warm! TFS!
Thank you very much Amanda! Love a little gold! Trying to stay warm! 🙂
Good Morning Justin, great card. Love the gold gems in the shaker. There are so many details to this card, each one is great. Have a good weekend . . . 40 degrees on Sunday, Oh a heat wave. Enjoy.
Thank you! I had fun putting the card together, love all of the gold! You have a good weekend too! YES! It will be like a heat wave on Sunday! LOL! 🙂
Oh – glitter, glitter, bling, bling! I think this card is amazing! I still haven’t mastered the shaker card thing. I think I’m over thinking it if you know what I mean. So, I’m going to stop trying for a while and then try again. Sometimes that works for me. It all has to sink in subliminally I guess. LOL
Tiffany’s is my favorite store to go into when I’m in Manhattan. I love the well dressed, English looking gentlemen that hold the door open and offer to escort you to whatever area you are interested in. Then, if you buy something they wrap it in that beautiful blue little box with their Tiffany ribbon. Oh to be rich! AND, you are totally right – this card does remind me of Tiffany’s now that you pointed it out. LOL
It snowed yesterday again – real surprise huh? We had some unexpected company in the afternoon and in the evening watched the dual races at Daytona. They were pretty exciting. The Daytona 500 will be on Sunday and we will be glued to the TV. Two of my favorite drivers are on the front row.
Daniel is so beautiful. I don’t think I could resist smothering those little cheeks with kisses. He’s lucky to have and Uncle to be so close to that also loves spending time with him. Great selfie.
Have yourself a Fabulous Friday and I do hope you get into Manhattan this weekend. It’s always such fun to see your photos. Hugs – 🙂
I love to do shaker cards! They are so much fun and practice makes perfect! I think when it gets warmer we should get together and have a sheer card class!
I like to stop in Tiffany’s too! One time when my cousin was here form England her fiancee took her there to get her engagement ring! I too would like to be able to actually buy something from there! One day! LOL!
It is just unnecessary with the snow and the cold now! I have definitely had enough! I’m glad that you enjoyed your day! Yes, I know that you will enjoy your Sunday for sure!
I know that I am partial but he really is just the cutest! And he’s so good and has the best laugh! He is just the best!
I had a good Friday and will have a busy weekend! I do enjoy Manhattan but more so when it’s warmer! Hugs to you my friend! 🙂
Yay – awesome shaker! Your card tells me I’m going to have to break down and add some supplies I’ve been resisting to my rep – sequins, vellum, beads – argh! Why do I love so many enablers?? Beautiful card!
Thank you Heather! LOL! You definitely need at least sequins! LOL! He he! I have been accused of that a few times! 🙂
Daniel IS just the cutest! You have the same eyes. btw, I like your card too!
Yes, he is Dana! Thank you! He has bluer eyes than me, more like my brother! But thank you! Love him! 🙂
Your nephew is just adorable!!
Your shaker card is great! Love all the gold. 🙂
Thank you! He is a cutie! 🙂
Thanks again! Hope that you had a nice Friday! 🙂
I love Tiffany’s and your card! Just beautifully done! Your little Daniel is a Disney World character all by himself. Enjoy while you can because he will be old soon enough, just like Taylor did to you. It reached 20+ below zero overnight and our gas furnace pilot light gets blown out from the freezing air intake mechanism, so it cycled on and off all night and all day today. Thank Heaven for the wood burning fireplace! My fingers are almost too cold to type! The pup loves to be outside and I have to watch her for frostbite. So far, so good. There’s a heat wave right now at 13 degrees! Snow overnight again — about 5 – 6 inches and then hard rain tomorrow and way up to 37 degrees! Oh, boy…Enjoy your weekend! Nancy B
Thank you so much Nancy! Daniel is cute beyond belief! I know, that’s why I love spending time with him! He will be grown up in an instant! I have to say that Taylor and I have a lot of fun together! She is a great kid and I’m very lucky! The weather is just unnecessary, we really don’t need all of this cold! Dogs are so funny, but I will say that Winston does’t enjoy the cold just like me! I hope that your rain and warmer temps melt some of your snow! You have a fantastic weekend! And stay warm! 🙂
Love your card and those stitched shapes!!! I guess one can buy them only online right? Little Daniel is absolutely such a cutie! And what a smile. Really cute.
Thank you Louise! I too love anything stitched! Yes, you can get them at Simon Says Stamp’s store! Love little Daniel! He’s always ready for a picture! 🙂
Hi Justin! Oh my—that little Daniel is just a doll. You can tell how much he loves his Uncle Justin!! So cute! I LOVE your card today! And yes, it does remind me of a Tiffany’s box! I love your sequins and seed beads in there too. This card is just perfect! I am getting a little tired of the cold here too. Might as well embrace it as best we can! Hope your work day was a good one…now go get started on the weekend…yay!
Thank you! Yes, he is too cute! I love him tons, he makes me smile every time I see him! So happy that you like the card too! Love the Pool Party and the gold together! I too am over the weather all together! No more Snow and freezing temps! I’m so ready for Spring! I have a busy weekend, but it will be fun! Hope that you have a nice weekend! 🙂
Oh Happy Day YES! Its Friday, and I was off of work. My son also came home from college so hubby, myself, and my son went to the Chicago Auto Show. Great day, and it just made me want that Mustang even more!
great card, but that pictire of Daniel is adorable, its a shame we grow up too fast.
LOL! Yes Linda! Friday is always the happiest day, especially when you are off from work! Sounds like you had a really good day indeed! My brother has two Mustangs sitting in my parent’s driveway, a 1956 and a 1966 fastback. Daniel is so much fun! Glad you enjoyed the picture! 🙂
Oooh, didn’t think of seed beads in a shaker card! I bet they shake more than the sequins do and add a great shaker sound. I really like the way you incorporated the gold vellum paper with pool party, it’s elegant and fun. Plus I really like the way you split the gold flags on either side of the circle, that really adds a cool pop. I haven’t tried my hand at a shaker card either, but I really like the way you crafted yours, so I’ll be like Grace and let it percolate, lol!
My day was cold – this morning was 18 degrees – that’s cold for SC! I know you are probably so much colder. So stay warm 😉
Yes, the seed beads work really well in the shaker Jill! I need to do a virtually shaker card class I think! Thank you!
It was very cold here on Friday and then snowed and rained for most of the day yesterday. It’s a little warmer today and I think that it’s supposed to get up to 40! 🙂
Hey Justin, what a gorgeous photo of you two, he looks like such a happy kid – he is losing the toddler looks and turning into a little boy! Before you know it he will be learning to drive, Lol – time flies! Yay, a shaker card! Pretty fancy one too, love the gold ‘bits’ inside! Hope you keep warm and have a fun weekend! I am catching up from my couple of days away, a week off would suit me nicely, Lol! Happy weekend Justin 🙂 xxx
Thank you so much Kelly! He really is a happy little boy! He is growing up really fast, but they always do! Glad that you enjoyed the card! I could really use a week off to get organized! Crafting always takes priority! Happy weekend to you too! 🙂
