Mojo 383 & More Pics!

What a Monday that was! It was raining in the morning and then got really cold so all of that froze and then it started snowing again! Hmm… me thinks that someone is trying to tell me to go back to Florida! LOL! I missed the first storm but we didn’t need another one to make up for it! LOL! My office had a delayed opening and I was all over the place. Learning some of the new stuff and taking care of some old stuff. We got out early too because of the snow and my usual 12 minute ride turned into a 40 minute fiasco. The person in the front of the line of cars refused to go over 5 miles an hour! I know it best to err on the side of caution but lets not be silly! When I got home I had some dinner and then spent the better part of the evening crafting the stress of the day away! Oh, I have some more pictures form Leadership to share with you so here we go!

This is the wonderful Claire from the Australian Home Office, I could listen to her speak all day!

Stampin' Up! Claire & Me

Here are the lovely Lisa and I, such a sweet person!

And the last one for today is my friend from the UK Michelle. I think the bag says it all and as a bonus she brought me some Toffee Crisp!! Yay!!

I love getting to meet everyone, especially people that I talk to on the blog! 🙂

My little bit of craft therapy last night yielded my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

I did a fun card with a pocket for a gift card on the front! My card today starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Basic Black. The strip of paper is from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack. I cut out the gift card holder with the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits from a piece of Vellum Card Stock and adhered it together and to the card with some Vellum Adhesive. The flags across the lower left are also pieces of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the heart form the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits to cut out a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper to back the heart that I stamped in Real Red from the Groovy Love Stamp Set. It’s punched out with the Sweetheart Punch and they are both adhered to each other and the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is also from the Groovy Love Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with the Banners Framelits. A few dots of 2-Way Glue adhere it to the heart and complete the card. Yes, by far my two favorite things are heat embossing and Vellum, combine them and I’m in heaven! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Thank you so very much for taking some time to come by and share in my day! Here’s to a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Oh Justin, this card is BEAUTIFUL! I love everything about it!! I can’t wait for my vellum to come so I can play 😉 Your little birdie seems to like it too, lol – cute! Your ride home sounded really painful! I work 2 jobs, my drive home takes 2 minutes from one, and 36 seconds from the other – I guess that IS an advantage of living in the country… I’m loving the leadership photos – you are officially Stampin’ Royalty now you’ve made it onto Shelli’s blog! Hope your Tuesday is better than Monday was! Cheers Justin xxx

    1. Thank you very much Kelly! LOL! Yes, the bird is quite taken by it! Everything around here gets painful when it snows! You would think that people had never seen it! I would like a job like one of yours! LOL! I love going to the Stampin’ Up! events and seeing everyone! Hope that you had a nice day! 🙂

  2. Really nice card today, Justin. I love the sparkle of the heart, the overall layout, and your creative touch! I, too, am all for a Tuesday better than Monday 🙂

  3. Love this card, and the way you combined all the elements! I love to see the photos you post, living vicariously here! Hopefully the commute will be better today. I consider myself very fortunate, especially since I live so far from town, that I get to work from home, doesn’t get better than working in sweats! Have a great day!

    1. Thank you very much Jeffie! Glad that you like the pictures too! I would love to work from home! Hope your day was good too! 🙂

  4. Great card. Great photos! It’s always nice to meet up with people that you know online and put a face to the name. Glad you had so much fun!

  5. Hi Justin! Love your card! My eye was first taken to the glimmer heart—love that little touch of sparkle. And the use of vellum is wonderful! That sounds like a painful ride home. 😉 We are in the deep freeze here with negative numbers with the wind chill. And a few more inches of snow this afternoon. Spring will be here soon—I hope! Have a great day!

    1. Hello Karen!
Thanks so much! I love a little Glimmer paper and Vellum! It wasn’t the best ride home in recent memory! I am really sick of Winter and yes, Spring can’t get here fast enough! 🙂

  6. This card is a real eye catcher. I love black & white and red! I also love the sparkle on the card. Great job. You must get really creative while sitting in traffic! I feel your pain. We deal with that stuff here in MN all the time.

    1. Thank you Linda! Black, White and Red is a nice classic combo and the Glimmer paper gives it just the right amount of sparkle! LOL! You have to do something sitting in traffic to get your mind off of it! 🙂

  7. Good Morning Justin:

What a great photo of you on Shelli’s blog! So, tell us, what did you win? I’m sure yesterday was a tough day all around – 1st day back to work from a fabulous vacation, 1st full day on a new job then a miserable ride home. So, now that you’ve gotten all that over with things will be much better right?

Great card today. My favorite part is the embossed banner cut saying. I know, you thought I would say the glimmer paper heart and yes, I love that too but there was just something very special about the From the Heart embossed on vellum and cut with that beautiful banner die that was outstanding to me.

Wishing you a terrific Tuesday and easy ride home. When I worked at the newspaper my normal commute time was 55 minutes each way and in bad weather the drive could end up being 3+ hours so the 40 minutes didn’t sound so horrid to me. LOL Hugs, 🙂

    1. Hi there Grace!
Thank you! I was quite happy to see it on there! I go the So You Bundle! I used one of the stamps on tomorrow’s card! I hope that things will get better!
Glad that you like the card! I knew that you would like the Glimmer Paper but I’m glad that you like the banner!
I had a better day and the traffic was back to normal! See, 55 minutes is too far for me! LOL! Hugs to you my friend! XO 🙂

  8. Great card and I really just always read your blog before commenting on SC…LOL! Now I can read your description and see that it is indeed a gift card so you can ignore my question in SC. Lovely pictures all around and great one of you with your prize! WooHoo! And like Grace said now that the first and terrible day is over, it can only get better and easier. Hang in there!

    1. Thank you Louise! It was a valid question! Glad that you like the picture! And, yes, it will get better! 🙂

  9. Hi Justin,
Love this card!! The glimmer heart behind the “groovy” heart is perfect! And I love the gift card holder idea.
This weather is awful. Can’t wait for spring. But then again, this weather makes me appreciate Spring so much more…. also Summer and Fall…. lol

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thank you! I have fun coming up with the cards!! I too cannot wait for spring! I think that I would appreciate the other seasons just fine without Winter! LOL! 🙂

  10. Love it! I really like the gift card holder on the outside, clever. But my fav is the silver heart with the velum banner. WOW catches the eye and is the focal point.

As a papercrafter I feel one of the greatest compliments is when someone CASES my work. I hope you feel the same. I copied your Banner Felt card from Jan 2, I am not posting it anywhere but it is my hubby’s Valentine card. So I cant give you the credit I normally would.

Great pics, I need to see Shelly’s blog now, LOL

    1. Yay! Thank you Linda! A little sparkle goes a long way!
I agree with you completely! There is nothing like it when someone sends me a message that they CASE’d one of my cards! Glad that you like the card enough to CASE it!!
LOL! I was pretty stoked to be on Shelli’s blog! 🙂

    1. Hi Leonie! Yes!! I did! I am saving a hug just for you! Yes, we will meet one day! Can’t wait! 🙂

  11. This is so fabulous! Love the vellum gift card pocket and that shimmery heart is just a showstopper. Thanks for playing along with Mojo Monday!
