Mojo 385

Brrr… it was a new kind of cold here yesterday! Bitter and the wind definitely didn’t help! I let my car warm up for 15 minutes and the poor thing still wasn’t ready to go! Work was the usual fun, except while I was doing something yesterday afternoon I got the message that there were no more licenses left to add any more users. Our illustrious IT Support company of course didn’t get back to me. Oh well, looks like I have to wait to hear back from them before I can continue! Mum made Chicken in White Wine with Mushrooms last night for dinner, one of my favorites! After I quickly ran to my house along with Winston, who doesn’t care much for the cold either. Once inside I retreated into the Stampin’ Galley and had a little Skype session with my friend Andrea and made today’s card. Not too bad for a Monday. How was yours?!

Before we got to today’s card lets take a look at this week’s Stampin’ Up! weekly deals:

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge for the talented Julee Tilman…

 Mojo385

I always love the Mojo sketches! In continuing with my agenda to banish Winter I have another bright card! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Soft Sky that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. My angled strip is Blackberry Bliss, I used one of the dies from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes, it’s just a strip that lets you add a stitched detail to the edge of most anything. The square in the middle is a piece of Daffodil Delight that is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares. I choose a strip of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack and backed it with a piece of Wild Wasabi. It’s adhered to the square and then they are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used the thanks from the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set stamped in Blackberry Bliss. It’s cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles along with a piece of Rose Red to back it. One of the roses from the Artisan Embellishment Kit is adhered in the lower left with a Glue Dot and then the whole thing is adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. For little sparkle I adhered a few sequins from Doodlebug randomly with Crystal Effects. I have had the Painted Blooms DSP for a while and never realized just how pretty it is and yes, my obsession with all things stitched continues! LOL! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Hopefully it will have the desired effect and make you think warm Spring thoughts! As always, thank you for coming by today, have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin,

I love this card. The colors are beautiful! I also like the way you offset the sentiment on it’s framing circle. Sometimes, I just want to use punches, and they don’t always have the perfect size for layering, and the layer seems too big. What a great way to make it look so much better! Thanks for the idea!

    1. Hello Jeanne!
Thank you! I think that sometimes things need to be a little off, just like me! LOL! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin:

Doesn’t that DSP just SCREAM Easter? Every time I see that stitched border I love it more.

I need to start thinking Easter cards so to get myself enthused I took down all the Valentine’s decorations and put up the Easter ones. Ash Wednesday is tomorrow so I’m not jumping the gun. Easter means spring and even I am anxious to see blacktop roads and budding trees. LOL

Have yourself a Terrific Tuesday. Hugs 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
Yes, I do immediately think of Easter when I see the DSP and I think that stitched borders add so much interest!
I have to start thinking Christmas Cards so I can actually send them out this year! LOL! Nothing like getting a jump on things! I will be so happy for the arrival of Spring and it really can’t get here fast enough! If you are done with Winter then it really must be bad!
I had a good day, hope that you did too! XOXO 🙂

  3. Love this, very Springy, and I think we all need it. High of single digits, and the windchills, oh well need I say more. at least no snow or ice like the southeast is getting. YUM…. your dinner sounded awesome.

    1. Thank you Linda! Yes, we all do need some Spring! We are to get the coldest day of the year on Friday, not looking forward to that at all! Dinner was fantastic! 🙂
