Mossy Slate Petal Tag

Well that was a quick Saturday! I managed to get some stuff done around the house in the morning and then around noon I went over and got Heather and we ran some errands. I had to got to BestBuy to return something and then Target to do the same. Of course you can’t go in Target just to return something now can you?! I did find a jacket on clearance for $20 so I had to have that! We went back to Heather’s and she shared some more of her delicious Creme Brûlée and some other sweet treats. I had some leftover pizza for lunch and then came home and worked on some projects. I skyped with Eva for a bit while I colored in some images for my card class. A good day, but it went way too quickly! I’m supposed to go into Manhattan this morning, I haven’t looked outside to see what lasts night’s weather brought! Guess I should take a peek… it’s not too bad. Now to take the train or drive?! Decisions!

Today’s card is a just because one. I was inspired my one that I saw on Pinterest. I used a color combo that I haven’t before too. The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles. In the middle of that is a piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack, also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles. My tag is a piece of Smoky Slate, I stamped the Dictionary Background Stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black and used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch and the Project Life Corner Rounder to create the tag. Some Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is threaded through the hole and left extra long. My flower is from the Petal Potpourri Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Smoky Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder on So Saffron and punched out with the Flower Medallion Punch. The greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is also heat embossed on Mossy Meadow. The tag, flower and greeting are all adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I really like the grays with the Mossy Meadow and I think that the So Saffron gives it just the right amount of pop! I hope that you like my card for today. Thanks so very much for taking a little time out of your day to come and see me! Have a super Sunday peeps! 🙂

  1. Love the colors of this card ….. I don’t usually use dark colors but I like them when someone else does….. Guess I’ll have to step out of my box! Hahaha Thanks for sharing your beautiful cards

    1. Thank you Ruthie! I thought that it was an interesting combo! It’s fun to do different! Thank you for coming by! Have a nice Sunday! 🙂

    1. Thank you very much Michael! It’s as masculine as a flower card can be! LOL! Yes, Target and BestBuy miss you too along with a lot of other people! 🙂

  2. Mossy Meadow is the most beautiful green SU has ever put out (in my humble opinion). I think it is masculine yet elegant, bright yet subdued – to me it looks like velvet. Now, seeing it combined with the Smoky Slate and cut out with the stitched rectangle, it comes across looking like leather on the computer screen. Very rich and soft if you ask me. I just absolutely love this one Justin!

We are in “blizzard mode” here. It actually doesn’t look like that big a deal if you are looking out the window at it. The Hubs however tells me that my eyes deceive me because I don’t want to see it snowing sideways again! LOL He’s probably right!

You bundle up when you head into Manhattan – take the train, it’s got to be easier than trying to find a parking spot! LOL Have a fabulous day my friend no matter what you decide to do! XO 🙂

    1. I completely agree with you Grace! It is the best free that we have ever had! You description is spot on and I couldn’t have done a better job! Thank you! I do love those Stitched Rectangles!!
It snowed a little here last night but it extremely windy here and bitterly cold! Time for Winter to go away!
I actually didn’t go into Manhattan, the trains were a mess and I was worried about the bridge in this wind. Sometimes they close it! I will go in one night this week or next weekend. I had a nice morning and now think that I may take a ride to see Renee! Stay warm and safe my friend! XOXO 🙂

  3. Justin, i love this card! The stitched rectagle dies makes this look like leather! Very classy. I dont comment often, but enjoy reading your blog every day. Thanks for the inspiration!

    1. Thank you very much Esther! The Stitched Rectangle dies are fantastic! I love having you stop by and the comment is a nice treat! Thank you again! 🙂

  4. Very elegant and classy. Love the Mosey Meadow with the Smokey Slate. I love Smokey Slate with just about anything. Darn, stop showcasing the dictionary stamp, now I need it, LOL Have a great day. I’m off to breakfast and to catch that movie I didnt see last night. -20 to -30 winchills kept me in.

    1. Thank you so much Linda! It’s a fun combo! I too am a fan of Smoky Slate, I like it a lot more than Basic Gray. LOL! I can’t believe that you don’t have the Dictionary Stamp, I use that all the time! I’m having a nice day and hope that you enjoyed your breakfast and movie! 🙂

  5. Justin – I have a question for you. You seem to visit and are up on all the latest tools and techniques.
Have you tried – and if so – what is your opinion of the “MISTI” tool for stamping. I am a grandmother of
a 7 year old granddaughter who wants me to buy her a MISTI. She visits your site with me daily and she
said “Well just ask Justin, he will know”. By the way she plans on marrying you when she grows up. 🙂
So when and if you have time, please let me know what you think.

    Thanks
    Joyce

    1. Hi Joyce!
Yes, I do try to keep up on all of the latest things! I actually ordered one of the Misti tools last week! Aww, your granddaughter sounds adorable and very smart! LOL! Ha ha!! I will keep myself available for her then! LOL! I will let you know what I think as soon as I get it. From what I have seen it’s pretty great! Thanks for the question and making me smile! Tell your granddaughter that I said hello!! 🙂

  6. Nice card, Justin! I love the colors. The embossed flower is perfect! I know you don’t want to hear this, but we’re now getting our first snow here in St Louis since November. Should be 8-10 inches and unfortunately, it’s headed east.

    1. Thank you Melanie! I love the colors! First snow?! No, I definitely didn’t want to hear that! I would appreciate it fi you wouldn’t send it this way thanks! LOL! 🙂
