Pals Paper Arts 239 & Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Saturday and a very happy Valentine’s Day to you all! I had a lovely day yesterday. It started off with my meeting in the morning off-site and then Andrew came and took me out to lunch. We went to Villa Monte which is a really good pizza place not too far from my office. It was good to catch up with Andrew! After work I came home and little Daniel was at my parents so I got to see him for a bit. Heather stopped by with a little treat for me to try. She made Creme Brûlée for the first time and it was delicious! Anything that she puts in an oven always comes out amazing! After that I went home and straightened up a bit and talked with Taylor, who stopped by, then Sandy came by to pick me up so we could go and have our Un-Valentine’s dinner. We went to Friday’s and they had 1/2 price bottles of wine… yes please, some Cupcake Pinot Noir! We had some of the warm pretzels with the craft beer cheese and the salads for dinner. We came back to my house and I showed her some of the new things that I have gotten and some of the cards that I have made but not posted yet. After she left I made my card for today but then wine took over and I got really tired so I went to bed a little early. I would say that’s one of the better Friday’s on record! A very nice day indeed!

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 239

Today’s the last day for a Valentine so I did one more for you! The card base is just a piece of Real Red Card Stock. For my background I stamped the Hardwood Background in Soft Suede on a piece of Crumb Cake and adhered it to the base. The greeting is from the Build a Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum. I punched out the hearts from a piece of Real Red using the Confetti Hearts Border Punch and randomly adhered them to the vellum with some 2-Way Glue. A few dots of the same glue behind the hearts adheres the Vellum to the card. I never noticed the greeting before but I love it, perfect for Valentine’s Day! Sandy also gave me a little treat bag filled with Hershey’s Kisses so I thought it would be fun to include it in the picture for today! I hope that you like my simple Valentine for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thank you for stopping by and giving me some love, here’s some love right back to you! Have a lovely Saturday! 🙂

  1. I am a fan of your cards. Like yesterday this is just sweet and simple but I love the wood grain with the hearts. Another great job Justin! Happy VD and happy Saturday to you. Stay warm.. I am here in sunny cold MN and wishing I was with friends in warmer FL.
Keep crafting, you do a beautiful job at it.

    1. Thank you so much Jamme! Happy Valentine’s Day to you too! I too wish that I was in Florida! It’s bitterly cold here! I really appreciate that you enjoy my work! It means a lot to me! 🙂

  2. Happy Valentine’s Day to a Sweetheart of a guy!

What an absolutely PERFECT Valentine’s card! The saying is fabulous, the colors are perfect, the wood grained
background with vellum over it couldn’t be any more beautiful than it is all decorated with the little hearts. I honestly think this is my favorite Valentine card this season. You get a special cheek kiss for this one! X

How you manage to get to so many places and do so many things all in one day never ceases to amaze me. You also seem to always get to see so many different people in one day! Sometimes you wear me out just reading what you’ve done. LOL

We woke up to 10 below zero this morning and will prepare for the upcoming blizzard this morning by checking the generator, preparing something that can just be warmed up for supper and making sure the snow blower is still in tip top shape after the last several snow storms. I could think of better ways to spend Valentine’s Day but as the hubs says, “we’re spending the day doing things together and that’s what the day is all about”. I guess he’s right.

Today you should spend sometime just thinking about all the family, friends and followers you have that just love you to pieces. If that doesn’t put a huge smile on your face, nothing will. Big hugs and kisses to you and wishes for a wonderful Valentine’s Day. 🙂 XO

    1. A very Happy Valentine’s Day to you too Grace!
Thank you! Yay! I thought that a simple card with a really good sentiment would be perfect and I’m so happy that you like it!
I do seem to get a lot done. I pack the days with lots of stuff and that keeps me happy! I’m lucky that I do get to do all that I do!
Your husband must be the sweetest guy in the world! There is nothing better than being with the person that you love on Valentine’s Day, no matter what it is that you are doing!
I spent time with people that matter to me, including all of you! My friends, family and you always make me smile! A huge hug and a big kiss to you my friend! Stay warm and happy today! XOXO 🙂

  3. Good morning!
Happy Valentines Day! Love your work as always. I totally agree with Grace’s last paragraph. Enjoy your day! Stay warm. Hugs to you. 🙂 Donna

    1. Hello Donna!
Thank you! Grace is an extremely wise person! I am doing my bets to stay warm and hope that all is good with you! Hugs back at you! 🙂

  4. Happy Valentine’s Day! I just simply love your card today! Nuff said…Hugs to you, my uber busy friend! Nancy B

    1. Happy Valentine’s Day Nancy! Thank you! Hugs back to you! Hope that you had a love filled day! 🙂

  5. Wow! This has me speechless, CAS but so elegant. I have already pinned this as my husbands card foe next year!

Flippin horrendiously cold here, and the wind is something else. Think Im just going to stay in and stay warm after all today, dinner and movie can wait.

    1. Thank you very much Linda! Yay! I thought that the sentiment was perfect! It’s really cold here too and very windy! I think that you have the right idea! I’m not looking forward to Manhattan this morning! 🙂

  6. Oh wow Justin, this card is too cute!! Simple but perfect – I like the sentiment too 🙂 Your Friday sounded so fun, hope you have an amazing Valentine’s Day too! Mine was quiet, kept cool inside while I made toppers for my jelly bean tubes, they turned out pretty cool I think. My husband really liked his card (thanks for the idea!!) I can’t comprehend -9! Watching tv when people put on coats, scarves and gloves when they’re only walking to the mailbox – I’ve always thought “surely that’s not necessary….?” I stand corrected, that is COLD!! Warm wishes to you Justin 😉 XOXO

    1. Thanks so much Kelly! The sentiment is great! My Friday was fun and my Valentine’s day wasn’t too bad. Staying inside here because it’s so cold and you over there because it’s so hot, we need to get the weather to meet in the middle! LOL! I’ll bet that your tubes turned out great! I’m glad that your hubby liked his card! Oh, it’s definitely necessary to bundle up! It is FREEZING here!! I’m actually glad that you don’t know what it’s like because it’s not fun at all! Have na great Sunday my friend! XOXO <3 🙂

  7. Glad to have been part of your Friday, Justin! We should definately do that more often. Love your card today. The woodgrain is a perfect background, and that sentiment is amazing, especially embossed on vellum. (((Hugs)))

    1. I’m glad that you were too Sandy! And yes, we definitely need to do it more often! Thank you! I do love the sentiment, just perfect! Hugs to you and I’ll see you soon! 🙂
