Paper Players 230 & Leadership Pics!

And my vacation is officially over, it’s back to work. I had a great week in Florida so I guess I can’t complain. I spent the day yesterday catching up on emails and big comments, oh, and laundry, lots of laundry! I also got to spend some time in the Stampin’ Galley, boy did I miss that! It snowed here last night and is raining this morning, joy! Thanks to Germaine’s Paper Pumpkin workshop I did get to craft a little while I was away. I have some more pictures from Leadership that I will be sharing over the next couple of days. I love meeting everyone and getting to see my peeps from the home office. Here are a few of the lovely people that I got to see while in Orlando!

Here I am with Maggie, Nicole and Candy…

So much fun! Now on to today’s card. Monday means that it’s Paper Players time and this week we have an interesting theme challenge from Claire…

Paper Players #230

A Valentine for our furry friends! I couldn’t find any Stampin’ Up! sets that had a dog in them so I had to use a set from Simon Says Stamp. My base for today’s card is Naturals White Card Stock. I created my background using a piece of Watercolor Paper and some Gelatos mixed with water. The dog is from the Simon Says Stamp You Are Pawsome Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped him in Soft Suede used Soft Suede and Real Red to watercolor him. Some Black and Gold Gel Pens are used for his eyes, nose and name tag. He is cut out with the coordinating dies. The greeting is cut out from a piece of Watercolor Paper and some Real Red using the Simon Says Stamp Pawsome die, they are glued together and then adhered to the card. My balloon is from the Celebrate Today Photopolymer Stamp Set, I used my Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers to ink up the edges and then watercolored the image. The coordinating Ballon Framelits cut out the ballon and the bow from a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. Some black hemp twine is used for the string and the ballon and dog are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love the look of watercolored images and especially like the effect of the Gelatos on the background! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge, I had fun making it! Thank you so much for taking some time to visit with me today! I wish us all a very good Monday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Welcome home! Glad you made it safely and with no delays! I was wondering when you would post a pic of Brian. I will never forget your Atlanta adventures with him.
I love today’s card! I have a “litter” of dog stamps for this and a few people who would appreciate a Valentine like this. It seems as though you have been using a lot of Simon Says products lately. I may have to go back and explore their website more.
Do you start your new work position today? If so, we need a report…
Have a happy week! Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! Yes, the flight was pretty close to perfect! I would love to go back to Atlanta for some more zip-lining with Brian!
Thank you! I didn’t have a Stampin’ Up! dog stamp but I got this one a while ago and I love him! Simon Says Stamp has some really great stuff!
I sort of started my new position today. I was in my old department too. Not loving the new position.
I wish you a happy week too! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. LOL! Thank you Lisa! Happy Monday to you too! Glad that you like the Leadership pics, there are lots more to come! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Hi Justin:
That is the cutest card I’ve seen in a long, long time. Your background is awesome and is just right for this cute little pup. The gold foil bow is the perfect touch on that balloon. Such a fun card. What a great job you did and this would be the best Valentine’s Day card ever for little Daniel! LOL

So glad you had a good vacation and got to attend Leadership. It’s been fun seeing all the photos from you and Brian and boy, it’s got to be hard to hit the deck today and get back to work mode. I know that used to be difficult for me to do.

Hope your Monday is marvelous and that you don’t have tons of catching up to do at work. Glad to hear your snow has turned to rain, ours has remained snow and we are supposed to get another foot today, then more on Wednesday into Thursday and who knows how much more on Friday. It’s a snowmobiler’s paradise for sure! ๐Ÿ™‚ Keep warm!

    1. Hello there Grace!
Thank you! I do love that little dog! The gelatos were really fin to use too! Yes! I think that I will give to Daniel! That’s a great idea!
I really did have the best time in Florida! I wasn’t looking forward to going back to work, I need to find something that I can be creative at all day!
I had a lot of email but I got to just forward it on to others! We did get a lot more snow tonight, I’m over it as I’m sure that you are too! Stay warm and cozy my friend! XO ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Super cute, Justin! I love the watercoloring you did. The little fella looks adorable against the blue skies and what I think looks like a sandy beach. A beach looks good to me now after getting 10″ of snow so far with more on the way as the day goes on ๐Ÿ™

    1. Thank you very much Christy! I think that I was thinking beach too because I miss the warm sunshine of Florida! We got a lot of snow and rain today. It will all be frozen by the morning … Joy! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. This is so cute! You are such a bad influence, I broke down yesterday and bought a few, (LOL) things from Simon Says, once I saw that heart you have been using I had to have it plus a few extras.

I just finished looking at Brian’s photos, It looks like you guys had a great time. Glad ypu goit home safely.

I am off today! Thanks to mother nature, 16.8 inches at O’Hare, 5 ft drifts in my backyard. I really hate winter!

    1. LOL! Thank you Linda! I think that I have been accused of being a bad influence quite a few times before! LOL! Simon Says Stamp has some great stuff! Glad you got the heart, it’s my favorite!
      We had a blast!!
WOW! That’s a lot of snow!! Glad that you got to stay home! I am with you, I hate winter too! ๐Ÿ™‚
