Can You Case It #63

What a great Saturday I had! I met my friend Sue at her house at 7:15am and we headed out to go to the Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp and Paper Arts Show in Allentown, PA. We made really good time and arrived there at 9:30. I had a lot of funΒ walking around and looking at all of the vendors. We stopped at Impression Obsession and I got a few dies. I picked up some things from some of the other booths too. But, the highlight of the day was getting to meet some of you!! I got meet Gerri K, Virginia and Donna from PA! Of course being the dunce that I am I only remembered to take one picture so here I am with the lovely Donna!!

Me & Donna

It really was awesome to meet you all and get to chat with you for a little bit! Thank you so much for coming over to see me!! On the way home from the stamp show we stopped at Wegmans! WOW! Now that is a grocery store like I have never seen before! You could spend days in there! We also stopped at Hobby Lobby and I maintained a large amount of self control! LOL! When we got home we picked up Sue’s hubby and went to the diner for dinner. I also got to Skype with Eva for a bit and spoke to Mr. Trent during the day! Like I said a great Saturday! πŸ™‚

So, a few of you have been asking that I share the cards that I have made for the classes at Scrap-A-Latte. Here are the ones that I made for the January class. The theme was Valentine’s and the stamp company was Lawn Fawn.

LF SAL Bee-Long-WM

LF SAL Love Bug

LF SAL Whale You Be Mine-WM

LF SAL Jar Bugs-WM

LF SAL Bugs Tag-WM

All of the images are colored with Prismacolor Premier Pencils and Gamsol. If you are ever in the area you should definitely stop by and take a class!

For today’s card I’m over on the Can You Case It blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

CYCI #63

I actually flipped the sketch around to make my card! My card base is Neenah Classic Crest 80lb Solar White. The first layer is a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with a piece of Sweet Sadie Designer Washi Tape down the left side. On top of that is a piece of Pistachio Pudding, I used the Tim Holtz Tiles Stencil and some Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste to create that cool tile background. My tag is also cut from Neenah White with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Die. I used the Simon Says Stamp Artistic Flowers Photopolymer Stamp Set stamped on Ranger Watercolor Paper with Versa-Mark and heat embossed with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder. They are cut out with the coordinating dies and watercolored with Crisp Cantaloupe and Crushed Curry Classic Stampin’ Ink. The stems are cut from Pistachio Pudding and all of the pieces are adhered to the tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL. A piece of Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine is tied though the top and a few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Tangerine Sequins are scattered across the tag. The tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die cut from more Neenah White and adhered with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I love the soft spring colors and the tile background is just so cool! I really do hope that you enjoyed my Design Team Card for this week’s Can You Case It sketch challenge! Now off to the blog with you so you can take a look and see what the rest of the design team has done! Thank you for stopping by and I also hope that you also enjoy the cards that I made for Scrap-A-Latte! Have a superb Sunday my friends! πŸ™‚

  1. Hi Justin, glad you had a good time at the festival, sorry I couldn’t make it, on account of the fact that I was 16,965.333 kilometres away! One day I’ll catch up with you, lol πŸ˜‰ Sounds like you picked up a few more supplies for the galley, you will have to move back in with the ‘rents – there won’t be any room left in your house, lol! Today’s card is amazing – that ’tile’ background is just beautiful, and the colours are very spring! Enjoy your Sunday, mine is over! Cheers xoxo πŸ™‚

    1. Ha ha! Wouldn’t that have been funny if you were there Kelly?!?! Yes, we will meet one day! I did get a few more things, shocker! I am definitely almost out of room, that’s for sure! I need to see if I can expand the galley into the garage a bit more! Wonder how that will go over?! LOL! I wasn’t going to get the clear texture paste but I’m glad that I did and the stencil is fun! Hope that you had a good Sunday my friend! XOXO πŸ™‚

  2. Glad you had a great day at the festival. There are always neat things to add to our collections, right? Your card is stunning and very spring-like. I love the stenciled background. Thanks for sharing all your tips. From all the things you pack into a day to your beautiful cards, you give us lots of inspiration. Have a great week.

    1. Yes HJ is was a very nice day! I did find some really cool things to add to my collection as you will see in tomorrows card! Glad that you enjoyed today’s card! I love that embossing paste! I am so happy that I get to share all that I do with you! You have an amazing week! πŸ™‚

  3. Oh Justin! I just went gaga over every single card. When we had a stamp store here and used to have classes the usual was 3 cards in a class. You did 4 cards AND a tag. I just love every one of them and the sayings were so absolutely perfect! If it wasn’t for the horrible traffic and ungodly crowded grocery stores I would consider a move to Long Island just so I could take classes at Stamp A Latte!

It sounds like you had the most perfect day ever yesterday. It’s so exciting to know that you got to meet some of your peeps! That had to be thrilling for them also. For today’s card I really like that you had the flower stems just slightly extend over the bottom of the tag. I am also impressed with the floral groups you have been putting on your cards. Really impressive for sure.

Wishing you and your family a delightful Palm Sunday. You must be looking forward to Easter with Daniel. Big hugs! πŸ™‚

    1. Yay! Thank you so much Grace! LOL! Long Island would be lucky to have you! Yes, the traffic is bad and it’s crowded but it’s fun too!
I did have a great day yesterday! I do love to get to meet my peeps! It was the highlight of the day for me for sure! I have been having fun playing with all of the new stuff that I have and am glad that you are enjoying it!
I hope that you had a very nice Sunday and yes, Easter will be fun with little Daniel! Huge hugs to you! XOXO πŸ™‚

  4. Hi Justin!
The cards from your card class are so cute! Scrap-a-latte is so lucky to have you as an instructor.
Your hello card is FABULOUS!!! It looks even better on my computer than it did on your phone…lol. I love that background. I’ll have to give the Tim Holtz transparent gloss paste a try. LOVE this card!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thank you! I had so much fun making the cards and the class really liked them too!
LOL! Yes, you did get a preview didn’t you! The transparent paste is great and I love that stencil! Hope you had a nice Sunday! πŸ™‚

  5. Hello Justin! So glad you had fun at the show yesterday! Wish I lived closer as well, it would be nice to meet you in person! The first set of cards are so cute! Love those and thanks for showing us what you made for class. Today’s card is fabulous! I love that TH stencil!! Yep, adding that to my list. πŸ˜‰ Such a bright and spring-like card, just love everything about it. Oh and the sequins are so pretty! Have an awesome day!

    1. Hi Karen!
The show was great! I will meet you in person one day! The card class cards were so much fun to put together, love the Lawn Fawn sets! The TH stencil and that paste is great! Pretty Pink Posh definitely has the best sequins! Hope you had a very nice day! πŸ™‚

  6. OMG I LOVE!!!! That tile background, you really need to stop enabling me! I have stayed away from texture paste, is it hard to play with? Now i may need some. I love the entire card, bright, cgheery and of course the tag. I love all your card class creations, really cute.

I spent the day sctrapbooking with my BFF, had a great time. Sadly the store is closing at te end of May, rent went up, and with all the employee pay and insurance changes she is getting out of self business. Really sad, it was an awesome store and that is ut last one. Of course I did major damage there, but I justified it naturally.
Damp, windy gray skies here but no snow, life is good

    1. LOL! Thank you Linda! I have so much fun trying out new stuff! I can’t help it! LOL! The paste is easy to use, just a palette knife and make sure that you clean it off right away!
That is very sad that your scrapbook store is closing. I’m so glad to have Scrap-A-Latte, I hope that someday there are more stores that are around for people to spend time in being creative. It really is a shame that some many are not around any more.
I woke up to snow, I’m glad that you didn’t have any! πŸ™‚

  7. What a beautiful collection of cards – loved each and every one you have shared today!

  8. Lovely challenge card Justin! Love all the fun textures and embossing! Thanks for sharing!

  9. Wow, those are awesome cards that ya’ll made in class!! Makes me want to move up that way too with Grace! They are really fantastic, I’m going to have to learn about this prisma and gamsol technique. I agree with everyone, you are a huge enabler with making me put things into my shopping basket, lol! That paste technique looks soooo cool! Hmmm, I don’t have that yet……

    1. Thank you Jill! The class attendees enjoyed them too! The gamsol and colored pencils is a great way to color. Gives you the look of Copics but for a lot less money! Yes, I am an enabler but remember that I enable myself the worst! LOL! Love the paste! πŸ™‚

  10. Good evening,

    1. Good evening Donna!

  11. Wow! Your Can You Case It card is fabulous! Loved the colors, how can you go wrong with pistachio pudding and crisp cantaloupe?
