Gold Feathers Love

Well, that was a nice sunny not so freezing Saturday! A welcome change from what we have had lately! I spent the morning crafting and then ran out with Taylor for a bit. We had McDonald’s for lunch. I can’t remember that last time that I had McDonald’s. My friend Sandy stopped by, she just got back from Florida. She has some nice color, I’m a little jealous! After she left I straightened up the house a bit and watched a little TV. Not a very exciting day but sort of relaxing and that’s good! Oh, did you remember to put your clocks froward?!

The card that I have for you today popped into my head on Friday night and I had to get it out. It’s strange how sometimes I can see an entire card put together and I just have to get it out. I don’t know where this came from either, I must have seen something with feathers! The base for the card is Whisper White Card Stock. I covered the card from with a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic. The feathers are from the Four Feathers Stamp Set and all eleven of them are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with the Feathers Framelits. I adhered them tucked under each other to a piece of Basic Gray. The Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart is cut out from a piece of Blushing Bride. I heat embossed it with some Ranger Extra Thick Embossing Powder a few times. When they say thick they don’t lie, it actually dripped at one point! The Simon Says Stamp Sending Die is cut out from a piece of 110lb Neenah Solar White and heat embossed with Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. I adhered them both to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. A few Simon Says Stamp Moonshine and Sparkle and Shine Sequins are randomly scattered on the card. The Basic Gray is then adhered to piece of Fun Foam and that is then adhered to the card base. You know that I love all of the feathers and the embossed heart is just cool! I hope that you enjoyed my “stuck in my head” card for today! Thank you for taking a little time out of your Sunday to come and see me! Now go and have a wonderful day! 🙂

I feel the love! I like the 3-D movement on this card. The feathers look very light. I think the whole card looks very exciting. Nice touches.

    1. Hello Nancy!

  2. Hi Justin!
Wow, this card is beautiful! Love the way you used the dies. That heart die is awesome. And the gold embossing – love.

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thank you very much! The heart die is great, one of my all time favorites! 🙂

  3. Wow- feel the love with this card! The arrangement of the feathers is really fun and the colors and textures work really well together.
It will be 80 and sunny here in Phoenix- sending warmth to all my friends and family!
Enjoy your Sunday Justin and thanks for the gorgeous card.

    1. Yay! Thank you Marty! I had a lot of fun putting the card together! I missed the feathers! Your sending the warmth is working! It was in the 40’s here today! Keep it coming! Hope that you had a nice Sunday! 🙂

  4. Justin – I know where the idea for the feathers came from – you have ignored your feather stamps for a while so they were in the galley screaming out to you while you slept at night! Subliminally entering your head it infused itself into your brain and whoa la! You had no choice but to use the feathers in a card which, by the way, you did masterfully. I love the feather cascade you came up with. I would never have thought of that but, then again, I’ve only head my feather stamps and dies a few weeks. Hopefully if I leave them in the package they will invade my brain while I sleep with an idea for a card as magnificent as the one you have created.

Have yourself a super duper Sunday. I’m going to do as little as possible today which means preparing dinner and watching the race. I don’t adjust well to these time changes. Hugs XO 🙂

    1. I think that you might be right Grace! I’m glad that you like the card! I really do love all of the feathers stacked! You need to play with your feathers too! Put it on the nightstand so it’s closer! LOL!
I had a nice day! Not too busy but still have stuff left on the list to accomplish! I would have liked to have a day like the one that you planned! I slept in an extra hour to help with the time change! LOL! Hugs to you! XOXOXO 🙂
