Mojo 387

There is really nothing better than having to clean 5 inches of snow off of your car first thing in the morning before heading off to work, would’t you agree?! LOL! It was a Monday! My day wasn’t bad at all, had lunch with my friend Robin. We went to a little neighborhood deli in Syosset called Dugan Sandwich Shop and I had an Italian hero that was quite tasty! After work I had dinner and then came home and unpacked my little Stampin’ Up! order. I also got my MISTI Stamp Tool. I can’t wait to play with that! Made my card for today and then ran to Target to pick up some things that I have been meaning to get for about a week! I need a few more hours in the day please so I can get it all done!

Before we get to today’s card here are the Stampin’ Up! weekly deals…

The card that I made last night is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo387

I really do always love the Mojo sketches! My card base for today is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the front of with a piece of Mossy Meadow. The background is a piece of Smoky Slate. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of So Saffron. On the bottom of that is a piece of Mossy Meadow that I heat embossed the greeting from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I rounded the bottom corners with the Project Life Corner Rounder and then adhered it to the bottom of the rectangle that is then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For my circle I used a piece of the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack that was just added to Sale-A-Bration. I cut it and a piece of Mossy Meadow out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles. They are adhered together with Multi-Purpose Glue and then adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My flower and butterfly are from the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set, also just added to Sale-A-Bration, and are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used my Paper Snips to cut out the flower and the Elegant Butterfly Punch to punch out the butterfly. Some tiny pieces of Clear Foam Tape adhere them to the circle. A thin bead of Ranger Black Liquid Pearls makes the body for the butterfly and a few Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins finish off the card. I love the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum and the new stamp sets that were added to Sale-A-Bration! Remember that you can get one of them for FREE with every $50 you spend now thought the end of March! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Your visits are always appreciated and I hope that you enjoy your Tuesday!

  1. Simply elegant! Would you mind telling me where I can purchase clear foam tape. I haven’t seen it before. Thanks in advance. Have a lovely day.

  2. Hi Justin! Great card today! You have to look at it for a bit to take it all in! I love the new vellum paper! Great color combo too. I struggle with the Mossy Meadow so I love what you’ve done with it here. I hear you on the snow…no fun. It’s snowing here now and I guess we are in for a couple of inches. I’ve never heard of that MISTI tool…can’t wait to see what you do with it! Have a great day Justin! 😉

    1. Hello Karen!
Thank you! I love that new Vellum too, so neat! I love Mossy Meadow, it’s such a nice rich green! We had more snow tonight, enough! LOL! The MISTI Tool is great, I’ll do a card using it and take some pictures! Hope you had a great day too! 🙂

  3. I am such a sucker for gold embossing! I have the SAB set on order now and can’t wait to get it along with the vellum SAB paper and the PL corner rounder. You have too much influence on me! LOL. I have to laugh when you say you need more hours in the day to do things…as if you don’t accomplish enough for any one living soul. We are awaiting freezing rain here and then the floods! They are also predicting 8 inches of snow on top of all that! I am hoping the meteorologists are wrong this time. Well, back to my second cup of coffee…stay warm, don’t put your top down yet! Love you! Nancy B

    1. Me too Nancy! Especially on Vellum! I have so much fun making the cards and it makes me very happy that you like them enough to buy the stuff! I really do need more hours in the day, there is so much more that I need to do. I get a lot done but there is always more! I hope that the meteorologists are wrong too! That sounds terrible! I can’t wait to put the top down in the car!! Love you too! XOXO 🙂

  4. Hi Justin:

First – what is the Misti Tool? Also, it looks like there is silver in the center of the black liquid pearl butterfly body – what is that?

Absolutely love the way you use vellum on your cards and your snipping is amazing. I have to say that you and Brian are classified as “super snippers”! LOL Great card and the details are just fabulous. It would take me days to put a card with so many elements together and even then I’m sure it wouldn’t be as beautiful as your card.

Hope you have a Terrific Tuesday. The sun is actually shining here but it’s still pretty darned cold. Still working on my pile of Easter cards but I hope to be done with them by Thursday. I keep getting interrupted every time I sit down to work on them. Oh well, it is what it is. For a retiree I don’t seem to accomplish anywhere near what I want to do each day – then I read your blog and go “Justin – SEND ME SOME OF YOUR ENERGY!” 🙂 Enjoy your day my friend. XO

    1. Hello Grace!
The MISTI Tool is a stamp positioner. I am going to use it this weekend. I’ll take pictures! The silver is just the way the Black Liquid Pearls looks in the light! I really like that stuff!
I really do have to say that Vellum is my favorite thing to use on a card! I do love a little fussy cutting and yes, Brian is awesome at it! I had fun coming up with the elements for the card! Thanks!
My Tuesday was good, can’t complain! The sun was out this morning and then snow and now rain! I have so many cards to make to send out to people, I have to get my cards done for next month’s class too! I wish that I had more energy! Sometimes I just want to sit and do nothing, or so I think! It rarely happens. I hope that you enjoyed the sun despite the cold! XOXO 🙂

  5. You have had the most amazing cards lately. Gorgeous colors & great placement. I’m envious of your purchase of the Mysti. That tool looks amazing.

    1. Thank you so much Paula! I can’t wait to try the MISTI! I’m sure that it will be great! 🙂

  6. Once again I love this color combo, I loved it last week with your creation and today
‘s creation almost outdid last weeks. I really love all the elements and finishing touches. The gold on velum so rich.

Well I did not make it into work today, 2 inches of snow then freezing rain. I have an hour drive on coubtry roads and “I quit” just “quit” By 10am by driveway and street still had 3/4 of an inch of ice on them. I’m hoping this eventually ends, I do need to go to work tomorow, no snow but back to single digitds

    1. Thank you Linda! I love the gray and yellow, it works well with lots of other colors! Gold on Vellum is by far my favorite out of everything!
I would hope that you stayed home with all of that nastiness outside! Not worth the risk! Everything will be frozen again so be careful! 🙂

  7. Hi Justin, another amazing card I see 🙂 that new vellum inside the circle is so cute!! It is really different! And you have been very persuasive in compelling me to buy those stitched rectangles, Lol! They add a touch of class to the cards I think. Your cars must be in pretty good shape to cope with the temperatures you have, the only thing I have to get off my car in the morning is my cat, lol! Can’t wait to see what the MISTI gadget it and what you do with it! Have a great day Justin 😀 xxx

    1. Hey Kelly!
Thank you very much! The new Vellum is so cool! The Stitched Rectangles are great! I do love the subtle detail that they add! My convertible doesn’t like the Winter at all, but it’s not too bad! You will love the MISTI! I can’t wait to use it! My day was good hope that you have a lovely Wednesday! 🙂

  8. Simply lovely Justin. You are the master of vellum. I just love how you use it in so many ways. Got my preorder of the new sale a bration products. How cool is the vellum dsp stack! Like how you used a small piece of it in the circle. I am waiting on my MISTI. Can’t wait to get it. How lucky you have received yours. Where did you order yours from?

    1. Thank you Lisa! I do love Vellum, it’s such fun medium to work with! The Sale-A-Bration stuff is wonderful, especially the Vellum! Glad to hear that you got a MISTI too! I ordered my right from mysweetpetunia.com. 🙂

  9. Wow, this card is gorgeous! Love the way you embossed the flower and butterfly. Especially since you told us what you used to make the center. Amazon needs to give you a commission! I just got the Ranger liquid pearls in black and pearl color, the clear foam tape, and super fine embossing powder 🙂 I already caved from one of your previous cards and got the stitched rectangles. Lol, see what you started 😉 Back to your card, I can’t wait to try to case this, love everything about it!

    1. Thank you so much Jill! I think the heat embossing gives everything such a nice look! Yes, I should join the Amazon affiliate program but I don’t think that Stampin’ Up! would like that! WOW! They definitely should give me a commission! It make me happy that I inspire you! I hope that you enjoy your new stuff! 🙂
