Mojo 388

Well, it’s Friday! Woo hoo! It was a little chillier here yesterday, only in the 40’s and quite windy. I think it’s supposed to stay that way for the next couple of days. As long as there is no snow, I’m good! Yesterday wasn’t too bad at work and little Daniel was at my parent’s when I got there. He has such little personality and when he isn’t happy with something he lets you know. After my quality time with the little man I came home and Heather called and asked if I would like to take a quick ride to the mall with her, I said sure. She came in for a bit when we got back to my house and then I finished up some projects and talked to Carolyn in Australia on Skype for a bit. It’s so funny because it was Friday there already, a little mind blowing! Tonight I’m out to dinner with Anthony and Bill. On Sunday I’ll be heading into Manhattan to go with my friend Kim to take a look at her future apartment. That will be fun! I get to help decorate the place so I will take some before and after pictures! Something I forgot to do when I redecorated her current place. I have fun with anything that I get to be creative with!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo388

As I have been doing a lot lately my card base is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. On top of that is a piece of Coastal Cabana, the circles are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Confetti Circles Die and then the panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL. A strip of Gold Glimmer Paper goes across the lower part of the card. The star is a piece of Bermuda Bay, I punched out the middle with the star from the “Vintage” Merry Minis Punch Pack and then I used the Stars Framelits to make it just an outline. For the greeting I heat embossed one of the stamps from the Hi There Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched it out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. The star is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greeting with a Glue Dot. Finally, two We Are Memory Keepers Adhesive Backed Sequins are adhered in the upper right. I really do love the gold with the blues, especially the Brushed Gold with the Glimmer Paper! So there you have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I hope that you enjoyed the card and you also enjoy your Friday! Thanks for popping in! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin- another great color combination. It’s a versatile collage card that has a lot of possibilities.
Your days are so full- you do more Ina day than I do in a week!

    1. Hello Marty!
Thanks! I do love those blues! I am a busy boy but I like it that way! 🙂

  2. Love it ….The colors are great . I am going to miss Coastal Cabana so I am trying to stock up on the 2015 In Colors . The gold really makes this card a Wowie . And aren`t we glad we had a jar to match the lay out to complete this picture !
    Great card !

    1. Thanks Sonny! I too am going to miss Coastal Cabana, and the other colors! LOL! I do like when I have my propose match! 🙂

  3. Morning Justin! Great card today! I love that die…very cool! The blue and gold together is so pretty, always love that color combo! We are heading for mid 60’s today and through the weekend…yay! Long time coming! Have a great time at dinner tonight! We have a PF Chang’s date with some friends tonight…can’t wait for that! “See you” tomorrow! 😉

    1. Hi Karen!
Thank you! Yes, I do love that die! The colors make me think of Tiffany’s! Glad that your weather has improved! Dinner was fun! I don’t think that I have ever been to PF Chang’s! I’ll have to give it try! Hope you had a nice dinner too! See you in a few! 🙂

  4. Well, I must have blown all our warm breezes your way, because we are chilly today 😀 lol. Your card today makes me think of looking at the just coming night sky, from inside (you know, because it’s cold here, lol) and warmth. Maybe because of the gold accents and the banner could be the path of your “shooting” star 😉

    1. Oh no Jill! It is appreciated though! LOL! I’m glad that I could give you a little warmth back with the card! Thank you! 🙂

  5. Hi Justin:

Very clever the way you made your star! Any card with glitter sets my heart a twitter! I think the simplicity of this design really pulls all the elements together. The die is just gorgeous and I bet it can be pretty versatile for sure. Terrific job.

So, how did you make out on Friday the 13th? Hope it was a fun day for you and with the weekend upon you I bet you have plans that would wear me out by Saturday at 10 a.m.! We are supposed to get the dreaded “S” word once again. Everyone here is tired of the cold. I mean really – can’t we have a few days in a row above 20 degrees F????? Stay warm, stay safe and have a fantastic weekend. Hugs to you! 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
Thanks! I do know that you appreciate a little glitter! The die is great as are so many of the other ones that I have acquired!
I don’t even pay attention to the Friday the 13th thing! It was a day just as any other! Ha! Saturday is actually just going to be a crafty day and tomorrow I’m going to see my friend Kim tomorrow. I hope that they are wrong about snow for you. It’s to rain all day here, good day to be crafty! You stay warm and safe too! Love you!! XOXO 🙂

  6. Hi Justin,
I have a bit of catching up to do tomorrow with your blog and cards which I’m going to do tomorrow as I have not stopped by for a couple of weeks. I hope that you are well even though it sounds very cold with you still! Bring on Spring and soon! I
I love the colour combination of this card, very classy.
I watched Sam Smith on our Brit awards a couple of weeks ago where he won three and thought how lovely and humble a guy he is. I know you love his album and it’s now on my list to download.
I hope you have a great weekend and look forward to hearing about your decorating adventures with Kim and her new home!
    Take care,
    Michelle xo

    1. Hello Michelle!
Thank you for taking the time to catch up! We all get busy, hence the reason I’m commenting in the morning!
I’m glad that you enjoyed the card!
Sam is a very sweet and humble person, he is grateful for what he had and I hope that he stays that way! I’m glad that you are going to give his album a listen, it’s not all happy but i’s my all time favorite! I have listened to it thousands of times!
I’m looking forward to seeing Kim, it’s been a while! I hope that you have a great weekend and get to catch up on all of your stuff!
      XOXOXO 🙂

  7. Rich classy card, I love how this sketch, or your interpretation of it pulls all the elements together. Love that die, bought it with the heart die that I was eyeing of yours. Haven’t played with it yert, but after seeing this creation I’m glad I bought it. Happy Friday! Waited for this day since Monday, and its Spring in CHicago, 63 today. 1. Thank you Linda! I think that their dies are great and the heart and this one are two of my favorites! My Friday was good and I hope that yours was too! Happy to hear that your weather has greatly improved! It’s to be rainy here all day, better than snow! 🙂

  8. Hey Justin, what a cute, simple card, would suit pretty much any occasion! I love the little circles where the gold peeks through 🙂 Glad you got to see Daniel, I like hearing your stories about his antics. I bet you will have a long list to talk about on his 21st birthday, lol! I cannot wait to see the photos of Kim’s apartment, and the design ideas you come up with! She’s a very lucky girl to have your input! Enjoy your weekend, mine is lazy and relaxing so far, just the way I like it! 😉 Cheers Justin xoxo

    1. Hello kelly!
Thank you! I do like simple sometimes! That dies is one of my favorites! I love little Daniel! He is just such a funny little boy! He will be 21 before you know it, that’s why I’m happy to get to enjoy him now! I’m so looking forward to doing Kim’s apartment! I had so much fun last time and she really liked it! You enjoy your weekend, I would like to have one of those soon! XOXO 🙂
