Mojo 389

Hi there! How was Monday? Mine was good, my friend Robin was back from vacation so we did lunch and then had some surprise birthday ice cream cake for her! After dinner I talked to Andrea for bit on Skype and then ran over to Brian and Kim’s. Brian is trying to decide what MacBook he wants. He is convinced that in this day and age of the cloud needs a huge hard drive in the computer. I told him not so any more. We will continue the discussion later in the week. Taylor came over when I got home and she was watching TV and then when the commercials came on she would watch something on her iPhone. It was like media overload! I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to make today’s card to keep my sanity! LOL! Oh and a little update on Pinterest, I passed 100,000 followers on Monday!! That is just crazy!!

It’s Tuesday so here are this week’s Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals:

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

And today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo389

The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Coastal Cabana on the top and some Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper on the bottom. They are both cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. Across the middle is a piece of ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack. It’s adhered around the back with Sticky Strip before I adhered it to the base. I cut out a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The hello is also a Simon Says Stamp Die and is cut out from a piece of Coastal Cabana along with the stitched star. I heat embossed them with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder from Ranger. The hello is adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue and the star with a Stampin’ Dimensional. A bright simple quick card that I hope would make anyone’s day a little better! I really do love the look of the clear heat embossing, it gives the pieces a nice acrylic look! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin, you are early with your post tonight! This card is so cool, LOVE that designer paper and the thick embossing powder! I see you have more than just the rectangles in the ‘stitched’ range of dies, Lol! Guess what I ordered online today!?! The large stitched rectangles YAY! I can’t wait to get them, hopefully next week 😀 Congratulations on 100,000 followers! I just got Pinterest 2 weeks ago, lol! I find myself scrolling through endless ecards in the humour section, and cracking up at things I think but would never say, he he – this was my favourite quote of the week, “I’d have better people skills if I worked with better people” So true! Have a great Tuesday Justin! ;-). xoxo

  4. Hi Justin:

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you. We are fortunate here that there will be NO SNOW today! Yeah – time for me to get out and do some errands I’ve been putting off.

Love your card today. I’ll have to try some of that ultra thick embossing powder. Do you have a preference between multiple layers of regular embossing versus the UTE? Since I haven’t used the ultra thick, I really am not sure which option is easier to use.

It sounds like you had a relaxing evening last night. Good for you. We all need that once in a while. I spent the evening finishing up the photo board for my daughter’s party. After all the photos were on there were a few places with small spaces between the photos so I punched a bunch of stars from gold glitter paper and filled in those spots. It wasn’t planned but boy, it really makes the photo board look great. I’m starting to think that some of the best stuff I do is totally unplanned. Maybe I’m an over thinker? LOL

You have yourself a lucky St. Patty’s Day. Green bagels and beer……………good luck with that! LOL Big hugs to you my friend and congratulations on 100,000 followers. WOW!

    1. Hello Grace!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you too! Yay for no snow! Feels good to get out of the house!
Thank you! I think that everyone needs that Ultra Thick Embossing Powder! I am obsessed! With the UTE you only need one layer! It’s amazing!
I did have a nice evening but I am paying for it today! Lots of projects to catch up on! No rest for the weary! I’m glad that you go the photo board finished! It sounds wonderful! I agree that sometimes the unplanned is the best! I tend to overthink things, sometimes I leave things to the last minute just so I have to do them!
I don’t do green foods! LOL! Reminds me of mold! Huge hugs to you! You make my day infinitely better!! XOXOXO 🙂

  6. Cute card! the stitching around the edges gives the paper a leather look and that extra heavy embossing on the word does look acrylic! takes paper and stamping to a new level! congrats on your Pinterest milestone! isn’t it insane the number of people pinning things?!
