Pals Paper Arts 244

Well, I am feeling much better today! I actually took it easy yesterday and rested up. I think that I just needed a day to reset! It was a nice quiet day, I watched a little TV, napped, made my card for today. Brian stopped by and dropped off some lunch for me and dessert. The dessert was a Nutella crepe and it was delicious! It snowed here for most of the evening and we got about six inches. What a nice way to bring in the first day of Spring! I think that old man Winter has his days messed up! LOL! I have some more projects to work on this morning and then this evening I will be heading into Manhattan with Anthony and Bill to go and see Andrew and Satellite Lane perform at Harmony Sweeps! I’m looking forward to that! What are you all up to today?

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 244

Nice and simple! My card base for today’s card is Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the entire card front with a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper. Down the center is a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. I stamped the sunburst from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set with Versa-Mark on a piece of Vellum and heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. It’s cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the One Tag Fits All Stamp Set and is heat embossed in the Liquid Platinum on a piece of Basic Black and punched out with the Note Tag Punch. I punched a hole in the top with the 1/8″ Circle Punch and threaded a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine through. The tag is mounted to the sunburst with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The diamond is heat embossed on a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and cut out with my Paper Snips. One more Stampin’ Dimensional adheres it to the tag. Yes, I resisted the sequins today! LOL! There you have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! I hope that you enjoyed the card and that you have an excellent Saturday! Thank you for your visit! 🙂

Fab Friday 60

Yes, this is the third post in two days! I had the Control Freaks Blog Tour which started last night and continues today, if you are looking for that click HERE. Today is Fab Friday and that’s what this post is for. I stayed home from work today, not really feeling great and I had a headache when I woke up this morning. We are also supposed to get up to six inches of snow today, just when you thought it was over! Because of the snow the card class at Scrap-A-Latte has been moved to Monday night. I still went there last night to prep for it though. I always love seeing Renee and the other peeps that are there! I also picked up some goodies! I hardly ever leave there without something! After the scrapbook store Heather called and I went and met her and her boyfriend George at On the Border for some Mexican food. It was quite good and it was nice to spend time with the both of them. Today I will be laying low and taking some naps to try and perk myself back up!

Like I said it’s Fab Friday and this week we have a simple sketch for you…

Fab Fri 60 3-20-2015

I had fun with the sketch and even used some of the new goodies that I got from the scrapbook store yesterday! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. On the left are two pieces of paper from the Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack. The frame is cut from a piece of Smoky Slate using the Mama Elephant Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts. I used a piece of vellum from the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum Stack and colored the leaves in with my Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Write Marker. The flower is form the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set and is heat embossed with Smoky Slate Stampin’ Emboss Powder along with the butterfly. I colored the back of both with my Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker and cut the flower out with my Paper Snips, the butterfly is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. They are both adhered to the card with Kool Tack Clear Foam. The greeting is a piece of Blackberry Bliss cut out with the Mama Elephant Smile Creative Cuts. Yes, I used some Ultra Thick Clear Embossing Powder to give it that licorice look! I’m totally addicted to it! A few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to one of the DSP panels with Crystal Effects. I adhered the greeting to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue and that completes the card! I love the Hazel & Ruby Sequins, they have a vintage silver look to them and well, the clear embossed die cut, we know how I feel about that! LOL! I hope that you really enjoyed my card for this week’s Fab Friday sketch challenge! Pay a little visit to the blog and check out the rest of the design team’s projects! Thanks so much for your visit! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

Control Freaks March Blog Tour

freakwelcome2013

Hello there and welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! The theme for this month’s tour is Spring! Who couldn’t use some Spring! I’m over the Winter and have been for quite some time! We are supposed to get snow today too. Will it ever end?! LOL! If you are following along with the tour then you have arrived here from the very clever Debbie Henderson’s blog, she had some great projects didn’t she?! I have two cards for you this time around so lets get right to them!

My first card definitely has real Spring feel to it! The card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Soft Sky and I stamped the greeting from the Flower Fair Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. All of the flowers are from the same set and are stamped in So Saffron, Crushed Curry, Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzaz and Always Artichoke. I used the coordinating Flower Patch Framelits to cut out all of the stamped images. Some are adhered to the card with SNAIL and others with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I adhered a sequin in the middle of each one. The butterfly is a piece of Calypso Coral that I cut out with the Butterfly Thinlits. I covered the entire die cut with Versa-Mark and then heat embossed it multiple time with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A piece of Stampin’ Dimensional holds it to the card. I love all of the colors mixed together and I just can’t get enough of the clear embossed die cuts, I think they are so cool!

Control Freaks March Blog Tour - Card 1-WM

The second card that I have for you today is another card with a spring feel but could be used for so many different occasions. It was also pretty easy to make using one of the card from the Project Life Everyday Adventure Card Kit! The base for this card is also Whisper White Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape down the left side and part of one of the cards from the Everyday Adventure Card Kit down the right side. In the middle os a panel of Bermuda Bay that is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is another card from the kit and I used one of the dies form the Mini Treat Bag Thinlit to cut out the holes on the right side. A piece of Silver Thread is threaded through the holes with some “Vintage” Frosted Sequins and silver seed beads randomly added. The card is then adhered to the card with more Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love that saying and the card and I’m always looking for ways to use the Project Life cards since I’m not a big scrapbooker!

Freshly Made Sketches 178

Boy have I been tired lately! I’m not usually but ever since daylight savings I have been unusually tired. Don’t know what that’s about, hopefully it will pass soon! Work was nice today, for lunch Robin and I had Chinese. I had General Tso’s Chicken, quite tasty! Little Daniel was at my parent’s house, always a highlight to my week. We had to spend some time opening and closing the microwave door and then turning the hall light on and off. He is so easily amused! I came home and spent some time Skyping with Andrea and Eva while I worked on some projects. Tonight night is the Control Freaks Blog Tour, so be sure and come back for that!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I want to thank Kim for choosing me as her Prince in last week’s challenge. You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE. Now on to this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 178

Believe it or not this card started out by me thinking that I wanted to use the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper! The card base for today is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Hello Honey that I embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used the On Film Framelits to cut out a piece of Basic Black and adhered a piece of the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper behind it. Some Tangelo Twist is cut out with two of the dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. The banner is cut in half and adhered to the card and the slide is adhered on top of that with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The for you is also cut out from Tangelo Twist and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensional pieces to the slide. My butterfly is from the Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. I used my Tangelo Twist and Hello Honey Stampin’ Write Markers to color on the back and adhered it to the slide with another piece of Stampin’ Dimensional. A few Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are scattered around and that’s finishes the card! I really do like that Adventure Bound DSP a lot, yes, I know, I have said that many times before so you know it’s true! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. Thank you so much for your visit today! Have an absolutely awesome Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 136

It has started to get a little chilly here again and we are to go down to 38 today. Well, it was a nice taste of what’s to come! Work was good yesterday, I had my first class teaching the new software. It was good because I had my friend Casey there to help out. The rest of the day wasn’t too bad. I came home and Skyped with Andrea and the worked on a few projects. Taylor and I ran to Target, I wanted to get shoelaces. Apparently no one sells dress shoe shoelaces anymore! Nothing else exciting to report!

Today I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch…

PCCCS136 DT Sketch 3-18-2015

I wanted an ĂĽber masculine card, one that would work well for a birthday or even Father’s day. The base of the card is Crumb Cake Card Stock and the background is a piece of paper form the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares. My circle is a piece of Natural Wood Sheet from EK Success cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Circles. A piece of Early Espresso is flagged on the bottom and then embossed with the “Vintage” Houndstooth Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. My shoes and greeting are from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, the shoes are heat embossed in Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Crumb Cake and cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Squares and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is stamped in Early Espresso on a piece of Very Vanilla. My button is one of the “Vintage” Designer Naturals Buttons and it’s adhered with Glue Dots. I love the wood sheets, they give such nice texture and really do help make the card nice and masculine! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch. Don’t forget to stop by the blog to see what the rest of the design team has done with the sketch. I thank you so much for stopping by today! Have a very Happy Hump Day! 🙂

Mojo 389

Hi there! How was Monday? Mine was good, my friend Robin was back from vacation so we did lunch and then had some surprise birthday ice cream cake for her! After dinner I talked to Andrea for bit on Skype and then ran over to Brian and Kim’s. Brian is trying to decide what MacBook he wants. He is convinced that in this day and age of the cloud needs a huge hard drive in the computer. I told him not so any more. We will continue the discussion later in the week. Taylor came over when I got home and she was watching TV and then when the commercials came on she would watch something on her iPhone. It was like media overload! I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to make today’s card to keep my sanity! LOL! Oh and a little update on Pinterest, I passed 100,000 followers on Monday!! That is just crazy!!

It’s Tuesday so here are this week’s Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals:

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

And today’s card is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo389

The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Coastal Cabana on the top and some Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper on the bottom. They are both cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. Across the middle is a piece of ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack. It’s adhered around the back with Sticky Strip before I adhered it to the base. I cut out a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The hello is also a Simon Says Stamp Die and is cut out from a piece of Coastal Cabana along with the stitched star. I heat embossed them with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder from Ranger. The hello is adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue and the star with a Stampin’ Dimensional. A bright simple quick card that I hope would make anyone’s day a little better! I really do love the look of the clear heat embossing, it gives the pieces a nice acrylic look! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Players 236 & Manhattan

Yup, there goes another weekend! It was a good one despite the speed at which it moves. I headed into Manhattan yesterday on the 9:11am train and got to Kim’s around 10:45. We went out to the diner for a little late breakfast, I had some whole wheat pancakes and turkey sausage that was quite good! After the diner we wandered down to 86th Street and I ran into Staples and BestBuy. I picked up a new pair of Bluetooth Headphones, the ones that I have don’t last long enough! We stopped at Starbucks and had some coffee and then headed over to 63rd and First Avenue to see the future digs! I really like the apartment a lot! It’s definitely bigger and much more updated than her current one. There is a dishwasher in the kitchen!! What I wouldn’t do for a dishwasher! But the best part has to be the rooftop deck! It’s open all the time so we went up to see the view and what a view it is! I took a few pictures!

Kim NA 1

Can you see the 59th Street Bridge in the middle? How neat is that?!

Kim NA 2

Way over in the back to the left is the Chrysler Building and in the middle is the Citibank Building! Not a bad view at all! I told Kim that I would be spending my summer weekends on the rooftop deck!

I’ll have some pictures of the inside of the apartment once the current owners get the rest of their furniture out of there. I’m looking forward to getting to the decorating part!

Well, since it’s Monday I have my Paper Players card for this week’s challenge…

Paper Players #236

Lately it seems that Forever Florals has been my go to flower set! The card base for today is a piece of Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Smoky Slate that I stamped in Smoky Slate with the Hardwood Background Stamp. I then used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out the panel and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. The greeting is from the Hi There Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Blushing Bride Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum. The Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles cut it out and some 2-Way Glue adheres it to the wood panel. My flower is from the Forever Florals Stamp Set and is heat embossed on Blushing Bride with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with my Paper Snips. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals hold it in place. What’s one of my cards lately without a little sprinkling of sequins?! LOL! So there you have my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge from Ann. I hope that you enjoyed the card and the pictures from my future rooftop hang out! Thank you very much for your visit and have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

Melon Nature’s Sheer Perfection

I made the most of a rainy day! I spent some time in the Stampin’ Galley in the morning and around noon I headed over to see Renee at Scrap-A-Latte. She had a crop in progress when I got there and I got to see bunch of peeps. I went there to turn in my cards for the card class on Friday. I’m supposed to have them 2 weeks before and she said that she wanted to be mad at me but the cards were so good that she couldn’t be! LOL! Yay! I spoke with Michael for a bit and then came back home. I stopped by my parents and we had Boston Market for dinner. I was good and had a salad! When I got home I Skyped with Eva for a while and Taylor came by. See, made the most of a rainy day! Today I’m off to Manhattan to see my friend Kim’s future apartment! That’s going to fun! 🙂

When I sat down to make my card for today I decided that I wanted to use a color that I haven’t used in a while. After some consideration I settled on Melon Mambo. I used Whisper White Card Stock for my base and covered the front in a piece of Melon Mambo. The background is a piece of the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum, I heat embossed the greeting from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered it to the background with 2-Way Glue. A piece of Brushed Gold is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Frames Die and also adhered with 2-Way Glue. The flower and the butterfly are from the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set and are both heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Watercolor Paper. I used Melon Mambo Re-Inker mixed with water and a brush to paint the images and then cut the flower out with my Paper Snips and the butterfly is punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch. Some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the card. You know there has to be a little bling and today’s is some Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins adhered with Crystal Effects. I also gave the flower and the butterfly a liberal brushing with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen. I love that the flower in the stamp set matches the flowers in the vellum and I took a closer picture of the flower so you could see the subtle sparkle that the Wink of Stella adds! I hope that you like today’s nice bright card! Thanks for taking little time to come by and see me today! Have a super Sunday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 177

I woke up this morning to rain, better than snow and it will help to melt what is left of the snow that we had. Yesterday was a nice day! Work was quiet and I managed to get caught up on most everything that I had pending. After work I stopped by the Post Office to get a package that was supposed to be delivered but I guess was forgotten. I wanted to get it yesterday so that our lovely mail lady wouldn’t just launch in onto the steps in the rain like she usually does! Last night dinner was spent with my friends Anthony and Bill. We stopped by Michaels to see Taylor before heading to Friday’s. We had the endless appetizers and the first round was the new Siracha wings, they were quite tasty! They were followed by garlic parmesan wings, pot stickers and more wings! I think I may sprout some feathers today from all of the chicken I had! LOL! I came home and made my card for today while Skyping with my friend Eva! We have something in the works that I’ll be able to tell you about in April! It’s going to be lots of fun!

My little card that I made last night is for this  week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 177

I wanted to use a new background stamp that I got yesterday that I thought went perfectly with the anchor from the Guy Greetings Set! My card base for today is Whisper White Card Stock. The panel in the middle is the Hero Arts Waves Background Stamp, I used my Stampin’ Write Markers in Island Indigo, Bermuda Bay and Garden Green to ink it and stamped it on Soft Sky. It’s backed with a piece of Bermuda Bay and adhered to the card with some fun foam behind it to give it a little lift. A strip of Garden Green goes down the left side. My greeting and anchor are from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, the greeting is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Island Indigo, I flagged the right side and adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The anchor is heat embossed on Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips, a little 2-Way Glue holds it in place. A scattering of some Green with Envy Hazel & Ruby – The Makery Sequins and a few from Pretty Pink Posh complete the card. I absolutely love the colors and the sequins are so cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you all very much for coming by to see me, you make all the effort well worth it! Have a craft Saturday! 🙂

Well, it’s Friday! Woo hoo! It was a little chillier here yesterday, only in the 40’s and quite windy. I think it’s supposed to stay that way for the next couple of days. As long as there is no snow, I’m good! Yesterday wasn’t too bad at work and little Daniel was at my parent’s when I got there. He has such little personality and when he isn’t happy with something he lets you know. After my quality time with the little man I came home and Heather called and asked if I would like to take a quick ride to the mall with her, I said sure. She came in for a bit when we got back to my house and then I finished up some projects and talked to Carolyn in Australia on Skype for a bit. It’s so funny because it was Friday there already, a little mind blowing! Tonight I’m out to dinner with Anthony and Bill. On Sunday I’ll be heading into Manhattan to go with my friend Kim to take a look at her future apartment. That will be fun! I get to help decorate the place so I will take some before and after pictures! Something I forgot to do when I redecorated her current place. I have fun with anything that I get to be creative with!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

As I have been doing a lot lately my card base is Whisper White Card Stock. The background is a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock. On top of that is a piece of Coastal Cabana, the circles are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Confetti Circles Die and then the panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL. A strip of Gold Glimmer Paper goes across the lower part of the card. The star is a piece of Bermuda Bay, I punched out the middle with the star from the “Vintage” Merry Minis Punch Pack and then I used the Stars Framelits to make it just an outline. For the greeting I heat embossed one of the stamps from the Hi There Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and punched it out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. The star is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals and the greeting with a Glue Dot. Finally, two We Are Memory Keepers Adhesive Backed Sequins are adhered in the upper right. I really do love the gold with the blues, especially the Brushed Gold with the Glimmer Paper! So there you have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I hope that you enjoyed the card and you also enjoy your Friday! Thanks for popping in! 🙂
