Pals Paper Arts 244

Well, I am feeling much better today! I actually took it easy yesterday and rested up. I think that I just needed a day to reset! It was a nice quiet day, I watched a little TV, napped, made my card for today. Brian stopped by and dropped off some lunch for me and dessert. The dessert was a Nutella crepe and it was delicious! It snowed here for most of the evening and we got about six inches. What a nice way to bring in the first day of Spring! I think that old man Winter has his days messed up! LOL! I have some more projects to work on this morning and then this evening I will be heading into Manhattan with Anthony and Bill to go and see Andrew and Satellite Lane perform at Harmony Sweeps! I’m looking forward to that! What are you all up to today?

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 244

Nice and simple! My card base for today’s card is Whisper White Card Stock and I covered the entire card front with a piece of Basic Black. The background is a piece of the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper. Down the center is a strip of Silver Glimmer Paper. I stamped the sunburst from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set with Versa-Mark on a piece of Vellum and heat embossed it with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. It’s cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is from the One Tag Fits All Stamp Set and is heat embossed in the Liquid Platinum on a piece of Basic Black and punched out with the Note Tag Punch. I punched a hole in the top with the 1/8″ Circle Punch and threaded a piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine through. The tag is mounted to the sunburst with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The diamond is heat embossed on a piece of Silver Foil Sheet and cut out with my Paper Snips. One more Stampin’ Dimensional adheres it to the tag. Yes, I resisted the sequins today! LOL! There you have my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! I hope that you enjoyed the card and that you have an excellent Saturday! Thank you for your visit! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yup, I’m back to me! There was no snow left in Manhattan! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Hey Justin, so glad you’re feeling better! A day home is good for the soul I reckon ๐Ÿ˜‰ Love today’s card, cool colour scheme, great job again! My Saturday has been quiet, coffee with some girlfriends this morning which was nice. Didn’t get the washing done today but it’ll still be there tomorrow right?!? Enjoy your night out in Manhattan, sounds like fun! Cheers Justin xoxo

    1. Hi Kelly!
Yes, we all need an unscheduled day off! Thank you! The card was fun! Sometimes a quiet Saturday can be great! The wash will always wait! Manhattan was loads of fun! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Hi Justin,
Very classy card! Love the Something Borrowed dsp with the black and silver.
Have a great weekend. Hope the snow melts quickly.

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thank you! I do love that DSP, nice that it’s only one color! I hope that you are having a good weekend! The snow is almost gone! Yay! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks you very much Germaine! I’m all better! Manhattan was great fun! Satellite Lane was fantastic as always! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Oh Wow Justin – very, very classy card! I love all of it especially the way you embossed on the vellum sun stamp from Eclectic and then cut it into a circle. I mostly use that stamp as a background stamp but now that I see it cut in a circle I can imagine dozens of designs that can be accentuated with the circle as a background. Of course I absolutely love the black and silver and your take on the sketch is just marvelous! Using the hemp twine on the tag was a fabulous crown to this jewel of a card! LOL

So glad you are back to being you. I agree that sometimes you just need a day to reboot and it’s nicer when you can take it on a Friday or Monday so that you have the additional two days to gather yourself back together again. Glad you are going to go see Andrew and his group perform in Manhattan tonight. I’m sure that will be relaxing and fun. Hugs, Grace XXXOOO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks very much Grace! I think that the sunburst from Kinda Eclectic is perfect behind another image, really makes it shine! Pardon the pun! That Hemp Twine is fast becoming a favorite!
I’m glad to be back to me too! I don’t like feeling tired, I always have lots to do! LOL! I think that Friday off from work was just what I needed! Seeing the A Cappella sweeps was great! Satellite Lane was fantastic and funny! The group that won was super! Hugs to you my friend! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

Glad your feeling better. I’m dragging today, saw Eric Church yesterday, he is fantastic! Concert over 1135, we did not get out of the parking lot untyil 1230. LOL I’m too old for this stuff, but well worth it.

Gota make some dinners for the week, help my kjids pack up for return to school, then playtime. I need to get some Easter stuff made. Got my SU order in and went to a scrapbook store, OMG the damage done.

  7. Justin! This card would snap my neck around if I were to pass it in a card section of the store!! Pretty classy young man, pretty classy!

  8. Hi Justin! Glad you are feeling better! Sometimes just taking a day to do nothing helps! Great card today…love the embossing! We had a busy day today…ran a bunch of errands. But stopped for a late lunch so that was good. It was rather nice here today so when we got home from our errands the neighbors were outside so we chatted with them for a while. It was a nice day! Hope yours was too!

    1. Hello Karen!
Yup, back to my old self once again! I definitely need to take a day to do nothing more often! Thank you! Glad that you like the card!
It sounds like you had a very nice day! Mine was pretty good too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. So, so happy that you are doing much better after taking a bit of time to decompress and get rid of that nasty headache! Love the card you did today, that set, Kinda Eclectic is one of my favorite sets ๐Ÿ™‚ You hit this one outta the ball park, very elegant and classy colors ๐Ÿ˜‰ I tried to get some cards done today, I did manage to get one new baby card, yay! But I have so many more to catch up on. Plus those darned clothes have to get washed, can’t they go around in their pjs?? Laughing too much….

Hope Manhattan was awesome! How did your friends do? Did you have a great time?

    1. Thank you Jill! It’s good to feel like my old self again! So happy that you enjoyed the card! I ‘m with you, love Kinda Eclectic! Sometimes it’s hard to get stuff done, so much other stuff come up or gets in the way! Sunday is laundry day for me and I can’t stand it! LOL! Manhattan was excellent as always! The video will be on tomorrow’s post! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Very cool card, Justin! Love the silver and black… makes it so elegant. And the tag with the long string that circles around the right side provides additional interest. Love the gem embossed on vellum! Too bad these stamp sets are not at least one year old… you could have submitted this card to RRBC this week with its challenge of “emboss with embossing powder”. Thanks so much for sharing this with the PPA! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you Katy! I love that twine, nice and easy to work with! Hmm… I’ll have to look at that challenge! Hope that you have a great week! ๐Ÿ™‚

  11. Gorgeous card, Justin! Absolutely love the stardust backdrop on the circle.
And, I have to say, when I look at the first image with the “J”, the little round vase, and card together, the word JOY pops right out. May not have been intentional, however what a great subliminal message!

    1. Thank you so much Kerry! I’m glad that you pointed that out to me! I can see it now too! Funny! ๐Ÿ™‚
