Paper Players 237

Yesterday was a very good day! I did wake up late but managed to still get most of the stuff done that I wanted to. Heather came by for breakfast and Andrew stopped by too! It was nice to catch up with Andrew, we have both been really busy lately and I forgot how much fun I have with him. We are going to go to the movies on Tuesday night to see Insurgent, can’t wait for that! After Andrew left I headed over to the Scrap-A-Latte and finished up helping Renee prep for class tonight. I also gave her the six cards that I made using some of the scrapbooking supplies that she sells. I wanted to show how you can use them for making really neat cards too! I hung out there and chatted for a while, some more down time! When I got home I Skyped with Eva while I made some cards for this week. Like I said, a very nice day indeed! As promised here is the video of Satellite Lane’s performance at Harmony Sweeps. Forgive the wobble, I was resting my iPhone on my friend Anthony’s wheelchair!

Pretty cool that they did a skit and not just some songs! 🙂

Well, it’s Monday and you know what that means, it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #237

My friend Andrea sent me a fun stamp set and I just had to use it! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The panel is a piece of paper from the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack and is backed with a piece of Basic Black. I tucked three banners in Mossy Meadow, Always Artichoke and Pear Pizzaz under it. The pickles are all heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the same colors and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used a Gelly Roll Black pen for their eyes, makes them look a little more realistic! They are adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Pear Pizzaz and punched out with the Scallop Oval Punch. A few sequins from Hazel & Ruby and Pretty Pink Posh are sprinkled on the left side of the panel and finish the card! I think that it’s a really fun stamp set and there is a little bit of an inside joke about the pickle! LOL! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge. I also hope that you enjoyed the video and as always, thank you so much for stopping by! Have a magnificent Monday! 🙂

  1. Cute fun card. Great video, thanks for sharing. Well I had an awesome weekend, even got craft time in. Woke up to a nightmare, about 3 inches of snow and coming down hard. Attempted to go into work but after 45 minutes of driving, going only 5 miles and almost getting sideswiped I came home. LOL 90 minutes round trip, 10 miles.

Since I have an unexpected day off I gonna clean and craft as I watch the white stuff keep on coming

    1. Thank you Linda! Glad that you enjoyed the card and the video! I am so happy to hear that you had such a nice weekend! Oh, that snow will get you every time! You made a wise decision going back home and I’m glad that you are ok! Hope that you had a nice crafty day! 🙂

  2. Oh Justin – the Satellite Lane video was so much fun to watch. They really showed a lot of personality and enthusiasm. I loved when the lead female singer pulled off one top to reveal the flashy gold sequin one. Their songs just had to make you smile. Thanks so much for sharing, wish I had been there to see all the groups. You tell Andrew he is wonderful!

Love the pickle card. Of course you used my favorite background and even through in some bling with the sequins. The saying is really funny and your tree pickle used as a photo prop couldn’t be more perfect. You do know the story of the pickle in the tree right?

So glad you had a fab day yesterday. Now I hope you can repeat it today. Love and hugs 🙂 XO

    1. Woo hoo! So glad that you enjoyed the video! I’ll let Andrew know! I thought that the whole thing was fantastic and yes, when she takes the top off to reveal the bling it was great!
LOL! I had to make a card with the pickle stamp! I can’t believe that Andrea found it and sent it to me! I love that woodgrain DSP too and there had to be some sequins! LOL! I do know the story of the pickle!
Today was pretty great, card class was a blast! Love and big hugs to you my friend! XOXOXO 🙂

  3. Hi Justin! Thanks for sharing the video of Satellite Lane…that was so good to watch. Almost as good as being there. 😉 Your card is cute today! Gotta love those pickles! Thanks for the info on the die, I will have to check that that out when I have a bit more time to spend. He’s got a lot of offerings. We have about 5 inches of snow on the ground and it’s still coming down! We have a guy coming to look at re-doing our patio later…looks like we’ll need to shovel that off before he gets here! Have a great Monday and tell Andrew we all would like to see another creation from him soon!

    1. Hello Karen!
You are very welcome! I’m glad that you enjoyed it! The pickles are hysterical with the sentiment! Love that set! I hope that Dies By Dave gets lots of orders! He makes great dies! Ugh! Sorry that you have snow! You will definitely have to shovel off the patio! I will pass along your request to Andrew! 🙂

  4. Love that pickle stamp, made me laugh as soon as I scrolled to the card! I also love that you used the white wood pattern as it reminds me of a white pickled wood finish! Another great card Justin!

  5. Wow, I loved the video of Satellite Lane too! This was my first time seeing them and they are very, very gifted!! I think my favorite part was at the end with the “being 9 people’s favorite” thing and then they started to multiply that out, just like teachers, lol!

Nice pickle card, sooo funny! You’ll have to leave off the pickling part (maybe add Congrats) and you can give to a pregnant friend! She’ll die laughing, well I would 😉 Awesome colors and they go really well with the Adventure Bound dsp and the Wood grained ef. And those sequins!!! You must have so many, they are the awesome compliment to their cute pickle-y friends, heehee!

    1. Thank you so much Jill! They really are great! Yes, I love 9 peoples favorite thing! Very clever!
So glad that you enjoyed the card! Ha ha! That’s a great idea! I have loads of sequins! Love them all! LOL! 🙂

  6. OMGoodness, when I saw this card in the gallery, I thought to myself, “Those look like pickles!” and imagine my surprise when I discovered that they really WERE pickles! How cute! You’ve outdone yourself here! So cute! Although I am hoping they are gherkins and not dills….I like my pickles sweet! Thanks for participating in my sketch challenge this week!

    1. Ha ha ha! Yes LeAnne, they are pickles! They are gherkins, just for you! Enjoy the rest of your week! 🙂
