SUO Challenges 118

Well, it was warm enough today to go outside without a jacket! You couldn’t stay outside for very long! LOL! But you didn’t freeze instantly! The sun was shining too and the snow has started to melt, which creates big ponds everywhere but I’ll take that over white flakes from the sky! Work was pretty good, not crazy. I watched the Apple Keynote on the new Apple Watch and yes, I must possess one immediately! It’s like a Dick Tracy communicator! You can take calls and do all sorts of things right on your wrist! Yes, it’s $400, but that’s what you would pay for a really good watch anyway. Here is the part where I’m convincing myself to spend the money! See how that works?! Anyway, the pre-order starts on April 10th and the watch is available on April 24th! I can’t wait! How many other techies out there will will be sporting a new Apple Watch? Oh, there is one that is solid 18 karat gold and goes for $17,000!! WHAT?! Makes $400 seem cheap! LOL!

It’s Tuesday so it’s time for this week’s Stampin’ Up! Weekly Deals…

Now on to the card for today. It’s for the SUO Challenges Easter Fun challenge. I have to tell you that I don’t really ever sit there and look at a card that I make and think, oh I really love this one, but this one I really do love! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the card front is a piece of Blushing Bride. I stamped the image from the Indescribable Gift Stamp Set in Versa-Mark and heat embossed it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The image is watercolored using Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz and Soft Suede Ink. My greeting is from the same set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I adhered the Watercolor Paper to a piece of Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock and then adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I love simplicity, the softness of the image and the variation in color. I’m really enjoying the watercoloring with the inks, one day I will use actual watercolors! You also don’t realize how detailed the image is until you spend some time coloring it in. I really do hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Easter Fun challenge. I had a lot of fun making the card! Be sure and stop by the blog to see what the other design team members have come up with. Thank you so much for coming by to see me! Have a terrific Tuesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Beautiful card and I agree that $400 for the new watch is a steal compared to the $17K model! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I do have to say, my immediate reaction was “Aahhh, that is so nice, how does he do that!?” Of course I see how you do it, but the idea and the technique and the coloring all came together so nicely. Really a beautiful card.
I’m so happy to see the sun and the concrete, even through the puddles.
    ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Yay! Thanks so much Nancy! I do love the way the card turned out! So happy that you like it too! I too am very happy to see the sun and pavement and grass!! LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Good Morning Justin- it is soft and beautiful. I would have to keep that one just to admire it!
I’m with you, I love watercoloring and the finished product is always so pretty.

  4. Oh my Justin – this cards tops the list of beautiful cards! When I first looked at it I thought “Justin embroidered all around those floral images?” Upon closer examination it still looked like you embroidered around them. What a fabulous technique and the the colors are so soft and “spring like” that they remind me of sherbet ice cream. You really outdid yourself today for sure!

Sunny and warm (well, comparatively speaking) here today. The aren’t mentioning the “S” word until Saturday. I think I’ll go out and run some errands today. It will feel good to get out of the house. You have yourself a Terrific Tuesday. Hugs and kudos to you my friend! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Woo hoo! Thank you very much Grace! It does look a little like embroidery, I have never done that on anything I must admit! Yes, they remind me of sherbet too!
Yes, it was warm and overcast here today! Listen, anything above 30 is warm these days! Did you get out to the house? I had a nice day! Huge hugs to you my friend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. That’s beautiful, Justin. Love the soft colors. And I have to say I’m LOL over your comments about the Apple Watch. I only met you once at convention but read your blog every day, and I know it is definitely “you”! Will be looking forward to your comments about it when you get it.

    1. Thanks very much Carol! Ha ha! Yes, you do know me! The watch is definitely me!! I can’t wait to get it! I’ll have a full review! LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Hi Justin! WOW—such a pretty, pretty card! I love it! It’s so gorgeous and doesn’t need anything extra on it. Just perfect! You make me laugh with your comments about the Apple Watch. I saw that on the news last night. I’m the least “tekkie” person I know so you’ll have to tell me all about it when you get yours! We are supposed to hit almost 60 degrees today. Bring it on! I had windows open yesterday too! Still a little snow on the ground but it will be gone in the next few days which is ok by me! Have a wonderful day!
