Can You Case It #66 & More New Design Team Members!

Hey there! It was a beautiful day here yesterday, temps in the 70’s! I worked on some projects but did manage to get out of the house for while. I had lunch with Taylor and ran some errands with my friend Maureen. I even found some time to just sit outside and enjoy the warm weather. Like always seems to be the case around here it was just a taste, today we have temps in the 50’s and some rain later on. Before you know it the nice weather will be here to stay, can’t wait for that!

Today I have three more new members to announce for my Design Team over on the Can You Case It blog. Last week you met Michael and Andrea. This week I’m very happy to introduce you to…

CYCI #66

Yes, that’s right, it’s an anything goes week over on the Can You Case It blog! I decided that it was time to use more than just the greeting in the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set! The base for my card is Very Vanilla Card Stock. My background is a piece of Kraft Card Stock that I heat embossed with the Hardwood Background Stamp in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The three envelopes and the greeting are from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the envelopes in Soft Sky, Blushing Bride and Sahara Sand. They are cut out with my Paper Snips and adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. My tag is a piece of Very Vanilla and the top is punched with the Angled Tag Topper Punch. The greeting is stamped in Soft Sky. I adhered some DMC Gold Metallic Thread behind the tag which is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three hearts punched with the Confetti Heart Border Punch from Blushing Bride and three from Gold Foil Sheet are adhered to the tag and the envelopes with pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals.I love the soft colors with the cool woodgrain embossed Kraft! I think this would make a great thank you card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Designer’s Choice challenge from Can You Case It as well as meeting the new members to my Design Team! Thank you so much for stopping by and have yourself an awesome Sunday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Your card is so cute! I used this set with my April card classes and they loved it. Thanks for more inspiration!

  2. Good Morning Justin:

O.K. – How did you ever come up with using the thread behind the tag and what did you use to get it to stay where you wanted it? Is the thread attached to the card base or to the back of the tag? That was just plain brilliant! LOL If you saw how much thread I have in this cabin (I have an old embroidery machine in addition to my sewing machine) you would laugh. If you ever get to Maine I promise I will give you a ton of any color thread you want, just bring something to put it in. I have seen yarn, ribbon and jute used on cards but never just thread. AHA – I have a ton of new supplies for card making without ever spending an additional dime! Love it!

So glad you had a nice day yesterday. We had sunshine but the temps didn’t get anywhere near 70. Then it rained during the evening. Woke up to sunshine today but now the clouds have moved in. I’m hoping Dover doesn’t get rain as I really don’t want to sit out a bunch of rain delays in today’s race.

I really need to finish up this quilt I’m making because my card stash is gone and I have lots of birthdays and anniversaries coming up soon. We are also expecting a few new babies in the family. This is a special quilt with a special story behind it so I can’t rush it but I really, really, really need to get some cards made. I wish for you a Sunshiny Sunday with temps warm enough to allow you to put the top down. Luv and hugs! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Oh my gosh, I nearly forgot to congratulate you on your new Design Team members. I’m sure they will be wonderful! How many do you expect will be on the Design Team in total? Can’t wait to see your first challenge, this should be fun.

      1. Why thank you Grace! I have a pretty amazing group of peeps! I will have 8 including myself and 16 in total on the blog! It should be a lot of fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. Hello Grace!
I have seen it done before with the thread! I cannot take credit for it! I just arranged it on the back of the tag on the adhesive! Simple! LOL! I look forward to seeing your thread collection! Now you know what you can do with all of that thread!!
I did have a nice day, I try to make the most of every weekend! We were supposed to have rain here today but I guess it must have missed us! I hope that your race went off without a hitch!
I have a huge card stash, I should send you some! That’s the trouble though, I make a ton and never mail any out! Your quilts are gorgeous! I’m sure whatever or whoever it’s for it will be fantastic! I did have the top down and the heat on today! LOL! Love to you!! XOXOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Wow! What an awesome card! I am definitely going to need to try some Kraft heat embossing! It looks amazing! Oh and thanks for the inspiration, so far I’ve only used the sentiments from this stamp set!

    1. Thanks so much Tina! I love kraft, it has great texture! I too had only used the sentiments but the envies are cute and so is the feather! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I feel the love handsome! Thank you for having so much faith in me to invite me into the design team. I aimed for the moon because it’s true I didn’t make it there, but I ended up with the stars. Love you bunches.

    1. As you should my Maggie! You are a very talented and amazing person! I had to have you on my first Design Team! You are simply wonderful my friend! Can’t wait to see all of your creativity! Love you too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Grace has a cabin? I wanna go visit! LOL. Love your card. I need to breakout this background stamp and use it already. Great new team members too!

    1. LOL! Yes, she does Michael! It’s adorable! Thank you! The Hardwood (he he) Background Stamp is by far my all time fave! We have a great bunch of peeps, so glad that you are amongst them! ๐Ÿ™‚

    2. Michael – when to come to Manhattan grab Justin and take a ride up – all are always welcome here! ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Oh don’t worry Grace! He said that he missed mowing lawns! He’ll do yours and there is plenty of it! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Love, love, love this. Another one of my favorite stamp sets. You have an awesome team, cant wait to see the creations. Anlother beautiful day here, but they are calling for rain later. I’l take it. Just got back from dropping my old but loved craft supplies off at a garage sale, I hope I sell cause thn I can buy…. OMG what an adiction.

Well, I was sort of disciplined yesterday, I never heard of Reverse Confetti so naturally I had to check them out, then of course I never pay for shipping so I had to buy. i’m crazy about the new geometric background die. You really need to tell me that you just bought black paper, not all your new toys. Anyway after my excursion I did get a card made for my DT but then I did get my room put back together. Oh….its so clean, I cant wait to play. Take care

    1. Thanks very much Linda! It is a great little set! Yes, I am very lucky to have the talented group I do! Glad that you had a nice beginning to your day! I hope that the rain stayed away! Addiction… crafting… nah! LOL!
Reverse Confetti has some really cool and different stuff! I’m glad that you went and had a look! I am going to used the Geometric die in next month’s class! Ok, from now on I’ll just get some paper! NOT! Ahh.. to have a nice clean craft room to play in… jealous! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Hey Justin, sounds like you have had a jam-packed weekend, as usual! Nice to meet more of your design team too – my husband grew up in Hope Valley! (South Australia) ๐Ÿ˜‰ Cute card for today, I love those cool little envelopes on the side. We got our gas re-connected last night so we can finally have hot showers again! Hooray! You don’t appreciate what you have sometimes, til it’s taken away for a while ๐Ÿ™‚ Happy Monday to you Justin! xoxo

    1. Hello Kelly!
Yes, I always have a jam packed weekend, yet I still feel as if I don’t get enough done! I’m so excited for my team! They are all awesome! LOL! I would like to visit Hope Valley in Australia! Glad that you enjoyed the card! Yay for the gas re-connection! Yes, it’s like when we had no power for 10 day after Sandy, you don’t realize what you miss until it’s gone. Happy Monday to you my friend! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Hi Justin! Hope you had a nice Sunday now that it’s winding down! Another great card! This is one of my favorite stamp sets of all time! Love the thread just kind of woven in there, it looks great. This card has a great balance to my eye. Just gorgeous! So nice to meet other members of your design team…they are all VERY talented!

    1. Hey Karen!
Yes, I did have a good Sunday! Busy like always but good! Thank you! I too love that Stamp Set! Loose thread is all the rage didn’t ya know?! LOL! Yes, my DT is awesome! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Hi Justin!! What, you used Very Vanilla for a base?? What happened, lol!! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m just kidding. I was reading the description and I saw that and laughed, my phone screen is super small and I couldn’t tell the difference until said blasted cell phone wiped out my comment and I got on my computer to write one. Isn’t that a horrible run on sentence! Seriously, love the texture of the thread on your card and I am like Grace, I have tons of thread ๐Ÿ˜€ That texture goes well with the Hardwood background that you embossed, really cool elements going on there, rustic like. The bright pop of colors you used for the envelopes play well off of the background too. They make it happy and the hearts just give it more pizzazz. So awesome Justin!! (I chose sleep again instead of computer time – my daughter is making me seriously sleep deprived ๐Ÿ™ )

    1. Hello Jill!
Well, if the truth be known I actually did use White and the front is Very Vanilla! LOL! Yes, cell phones are good for some things and other things you just need the computer! I thought it was a fun card and I’m glad that you agree! I remember the sleep deprived nights! They were no fun! But it’s gets better! ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Love your team challenge card this week! Fun and simple! Congrats to our new added team members too, we are gonna have loads of fun!
