Mojo 393

How was your Monday? Mine was pretty good. It was a nice sunny day and in the 60’s! Today it’s going to rain and will do that for the next few days. Just a taste, that’s all we get! My parents went to pick up my brother, Erika and Daniel from the airport yesterday! He was extra adorable, I guess because I missed the little guy so much! They said that the weather was perfect while they were there and that he was really well behaved on the flight home too! Here he is feeding some Koi, he loved that they all came right over to him!

Daniuel Feeding Koi

After I got in some Daniel time Heather came over and her, Taylor and I went over to see Sandy for a bit. It was a get together of all of the old stamp class alumni! It was good to see everyone again and I told them about the card classes at Scrap-A-Latte. We stopped at Target on the way home to pick up a few odds and ends. We got home a little later that I wanted to so I popped into the Stampin’ Galley to make my card for today. Not a bad Monday at all! Tonight I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte to take Angie’s tags class! That’s going to be fun!

The card that I have for you for today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo393

Quite a fun and unusual sketch! My obsession with the Stitched shapes continues on today’s card! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. My background is a piece of Brushed Silver Metallic that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. My three panels are all pieces of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Stitched Rectangles to cut out the red hearts and the the black ones. The white one is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles. I used the stitched strip from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to cut the diagonal. My greeting is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles to cut it out and it’s adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The little heart is Real Red and is punched out with the Confetti Hearts Punch. I coated it with Crystal Effects for a little shine. Two Pretty Pink Posh Silver Sequins complete the card. I love that Stacked with Love DSP and that it can be used for more than just a valentine! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge. You visits always make my days a little happier so thanks for stopping by! Have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Justin,
Great card! Love that you paired the Stacked with Love dsp with that sentiment.

    1. Thank you Gerri! I love that DSP Stack and the sentiments in the Lovely Amazing You are some of my favorites! 🙂

  2. I love the different paper choices. The sentiment looks great. Saved this for my hubby for next Valentine’s. Nice seeing everyone, even for a short time.
    🙂

    1. Thank you so much Nancy! The Lovely Amazing You Set is great! It was so nice to see you too! Maybe I’ll see you at Scrap-A-Latte! 🙂

  3. Good Morning Justin! Hope your day is off to a great start! Gosh, what a cute photo of Daniel! I’m loving his tennis shoes! So cute! Love your card! I need to try more angled lines on my cards. That stamp set is one of my all-time favorites, just love the font. A very nice card. Just think, the rain will make all the flowers pretty! We had a lot of rain last week and the grass turned green overnight. Can’t wait to start getting my hands dirty planting some flowers…have to wait a little bit yet but we are getting closer! Have a great Tuesday! 🙂 🙂

    1. Hello Karen!
My day was pretty good, hope that yours was too! Love that little boy!! Glad that you enjoy the card too! I too love that stamp set, the font is fantastic! Listen, as long as it’s not snow I’m fine with it! LOL! I can’t wait to put on shorts!! 🙂

  4. It’s so fun to watch Daniel through the camera’s lens. He is such a beautiful child and so fortunate to have a family that is so close by. I’m sure we all really look forward to any photos you are willing to share with us. Seeing the look on his face as he fed the fish was such a great way to start the day.

We still have snow on most of the property but two or three more days of 50+ weather should take care of that. Now I wait to see the brown grass turn green again and, like Karen, I’m anxious to see flowers in front of our cabin once more. I am not, however, in a hurry to see 80+ degree days, especially when they are humid.

Your creation for today has convinced me that I really need to get some of that brushed silver card stock. Combined with the stitched rectangle die the look of leather will surely enhance any masculine cards I make. The stitched circles dies are on my “wish” list. After the day you had yesterday I don’t know how you kept your brain clear enough to design such a beautiful card. I would have fallen asleep sitting at my desk. LOL

You have yourself a Tremendous Tuesday and remember that tomorrow is already hump day. Where does the time go? Enjoy your class tonight my friend. Luv and Hugs!

    1. I’m glad that you enjoy seeing the little guy! I know that I’m partial but I think that he is just adorable! He was quite excited to feed the fish and not too happy when the food was gone from what I was told!
I am happy to say that all of our snow is gone! Yours will be too soon and you will have lovely flowers all around I’m sure! I don’t like the humidity either but I really don’t like the snow!
Yay! I love the Brushed Silver and Gold Card Stock! I like the Simon Says Stamp Stitched dies because thy have stitching on both sides of the cut line! I almost did fall asleep!
I did have a very nice day! I hope that you did too! Yes, it’s almost Wednesday! Yippie! No class, wrong Tuesday! LOL! XOXOXO 🙂

  5. Can you imagine what the fish are saying, “feed me”, “no me”, or “hey move over” 😀 Daniel is a real sweetie Justin!

This stamp set is one of my favorite because of this sentiment 🙂 Another “angular” card, ok, couldn’t resist, lol! I was curious what the difference between heavy clear embossing and the Crystal effects, as far as how will it turn out?

    Have fun tonight Justin!

    1. It’s funny that you say that about the fish Jill, I was thinking the same thing! He’s a cutie for sure!
I do love that stamp set! LOL! Yes, another angular card! Not to worry, tomorrow’s isn’t! I like the heat embossing with the clear, it’s dry immediately and I feel that I have better results over the Crystal Effects. Just a personal preference! Hope that you had a good day! 🙂

  6. Hey Justin, what a gorgeous photo of Daniel! Those fish look like they’re going to jump right out of the pond and grab the food from his little hand! Glad they had a great holiday, sounds like he was a very good boy 🙂 Love today’s card, perfect colours! When you say ‘stitched strip’ do you mean there is a single line of the stitched edge so you can make any shape you want? There are so many great ideas out there that I haven’t even heard of yet! I hope you enjoyed the tag class! Cheers Justin 🙂 xoxo

    1. Hello Kelly!
Thanks! He is quite the photogenic little boy! The fish do look quite excited that he is there! From what my brother said he was indeed a very good boy!
Glad that you like the card! Yes, there is a single line of stitching that you can use anywhere! Excellent idea! I will enjoy the tag class, next Tuesday! LOL! Sometimes I guess I just have a little too much going on! LOL!
      XOXOXOXO 🙂

  7. I love Daniel photos….. too cute! and so is this card, cute, cute, cute. And my favorite colopr combo. We are in Spring here in Chicagoland. Mid 60’s and blue skies. Beautiful. Rain on Thursday but cant complain. Take care

    1. I was just thinking about you Linda! Yes, Daniel is a cutie! So happy that you like to card! I’m glad that you are having nice weather! It was overcast here but warmish! I’ll take it! 🙂

  8. Justin, love your blog. There seem to be several choices in the stitched dies. Can you advise why you chose the ones made by SSS? Thanks!

    1. Thank you very much Lily! I like the ones from Simon Says Stamp because they have stitching on the inside and outside of the cut line. So when you use them you get stitching on the positive and negative die cuts! Hope that helps! I appreciate your visit! Have a great day! 🙂
