Mojo 395

And we are coming into the home stretch of the week! It was a beautiful day here yesterday, I snuck outside numerous times! The highlight of the day was riding home in the car with the top down and the music up nice and loud! Well, that and Daniel was at my parents. He just gets cuter every time I see him! My mum said how he wouldn’t give anyone a kiss so I asked him if I could have one and I got one right away! He loves his uncle Justin! We played ball on the front porch for a while and then I came home and Skyped with Andrea for a bit while we crafted. Around 6:30 Anthony and Bill came to pick me up so that we could go and meet Marissa at Friday’s to celebrate Anthony’s birthday. We had a great waiter name Cesar and had a very nice time! I came home and Taylor was watching Wilfred, a very strange show! She has decided that since Taylor Made was taken that she is going to go with Taylored Pieces! Thanks again for all of your suggestions! As soon as she does her first post I’ll let you know!

The card that I have for you today is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and it’s one of my favorites… a Tall & Skinny…

Mojo395

Yes, the card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. For my background I used some Night of Navy with a strip of paper from the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper. Across the top of the DSP is a piece of Gold 1/8″ Ribbon. My panel is also form the same DSP and is backed with a piece of Bermuda Bay. I heat embossed the candles from the Balloon Bash Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Whisper White and cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. It’s adhered to the card with a combination of SNAIL and Foam Tape. The greeting is stacked on another piece of Whisper White that I cut out with the Banners Framelits and is also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Another piece of Foam Tape adheres it to the circle. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are randomly adhered to the circle with Crystal Effects. I do love the Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper and hope that we have something similar in the new catalog! I hope that you liked my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! I thank you very much for taking the time to stop by and catch up! Have an awesome Thursday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin, I like the dark background with the light DSP. Just enough embossing too.
    🙂
Oh, P.S. love . . . Taylored Pieces! Good Luck Taylor!

  2. Hi Justin:

I see that you have influenced Michael’s card making! LOL He is using sequins now too. When I saw his blog today and the sequins on his card I thought “hmmmmm, Michael has picked up some of Justin’s favorite embellishments. Too funny.

Today’s card looks as though it took forever to make! I don’t know how you can craft while talking or Skyeping (sp?) with someone else. I must have a lack of multi-tasking abilities because when I am making cards it pretty much takes all my attention. My mind is just running in all kinds of directions with ideas for the cards so there is no room to handle a conversation while doing it.

Have yourself a Terrific Thursday. One more day until the weekend and I bet you have lots of great plans. LOL
Luv and hugs my friend. XXOO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
LOL! Shh, don’t say that! He said that it had nothing to do with my use of sequins but you and I know better! LOL!
The card actually didn’t make too long to make, the most tedious part was stacking the sentiment! I actually find that I am more productive when I am on Skype with someone while I’m crafting! I know, I’m odd! LOL!
I had a nice day and tomorrow is Friday! Yay! I hope that your Thursday was good and that your Friday will be even better! XOXOXO 🙂

  3. Hi Justin,
Love this stamp set and dsp. I just did a whole class using them.
Like the way you moved the sentiment to a banner!

    1. Hey Gerri!
Yes< I too love that Stamp Set and DSP, I will miss it! It's nice to change up the sentiment, it's also one of my favorites! 🙂

  4. Hey Justin, cute card, they look like party colours to me! Your doggy is gorgeous, I bet he’s got personality 😉 We went to the city again yesterday, shopped a little and visited both my parents and in-laws. We had a nice time, tiring, as we left very early and got home very late! Can’t wait to see Taylor’s blog and her creations – if she has inherited her Dad’s talents, they’ll be amazing!! Cheers Justin xoxo

    1. Hi Kelly!
Thanks so much! Yes, that was definitely a party feeling DSP! Aww, thanks, yes I think that Winnie is pretty handsome and he has too much personality sometimes! LOL! I’m glad that you had another fun day in the city again! You know that I love going to the city! I think that Taylor is going to do her first post tomorrow so I will link to it on Saturday! You are far too sweet to me! XOXO 🙂

    1. Thanks very much Linda! Yes, the candles do look black and now that you say that I like it too! 🙂

Gosh Justin, this card is sooo awesome! I love the colors and your layers…really neat the way you used the skinny gold ribbon as a strip there on top of the DSP. I looovvve this saying, “light ’em up!” It just cracks me up every time I see it 😉

Shoot me an email whenever you get a chance. Just going to update you on stuff – thanks Justin.

    1. Yes! I too like it a lot Jill!
