OSAT Mother’s Day Blog Hop

OSAT HeaderHello my peeps and a very happy Thursday to you! Today I’m participating in the second blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is on Mother’s Day! Soon it will be that time of year to show our wonderful Mother’s, Grandmother’s Aunt’s and whoever else in your life that has been like a Mother to you how much we love them! This time I’m all about the gold! It’s everywhere in design and decorating lately and who couldn’t use a little shine?! If you have arrived here from Martie Hillyer’s blog, welcome! Didn’t she have some fun projects?! I have three cards for you today!

The first card is an eclectic collection of elements but I like when you can make them work together on a card! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I stamped the Hardwood Background Stamp in Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake for my background. The frame is a piece of Blushing Bride that I cut out using two of the Lawn Fawn Large and Small Stitched Rectangles. I found an old Recollections stamp that I heat embossed on Vellum with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder for the ledger paper. For the five hearts along the bottom I used a die from the Circle Card Thinlits and some Gold Glimmer Paper. My “string” is a piece of Very Vanilla That is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Slopes and Hills Dies. The little pocket is cut out from Vellum using the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Coin Envelope Die. I heat embossed the greeting on it from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A piece of Very Vanilla with the corners rounded and a hole punched in it so I could thread some Hemptique Natural Hemp Cord though the top. The heart is from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and is stamped in Rose Red. The grid and tiny envelope are adhered to the card with SNAIL and the hearts with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A scattering of Hazel & Rub The Makery Think Pink Sequins and Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins complete the card! I really do love the eclectic feel to the card and the little envelope with the tag is so neat!

My second card uses some new dies that I got from Ellen Hutson. The base is Whisper White Card Stock. I cut out the background using the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles from a piece of Whisper White. I used the Essential by Ellen Bold Blossoms Stand Alone Dies to cut out the leaves and flowers from Brushed Silver Metallic and Brushed Gold Metallic Card Stock. The love is cut out using the Essentials by Ellen You Rock Die from Gold Foil Sheet. My leaves, small flowers and love are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue and the large flower with pieces of Stampin’ Dimensionals. The panel is adhered to the card with a piece of fun foam to lift it up. A scattering of Simon Says Stamp Sparkle and Shine Sequins give it a little glimmer. I love the simplicity of the card and I think that it would also work well for a wedding!

My last card is a tall and skinny one! The base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Pistachio Pudding. I used another piece of Whisper White to heat emboss the greeting from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Down the left side is a piece of Pinkfresh Studio Peach and Mint Ombre Airmail Washi Tape. The panel is adhered to the card with a piece of fun foam in between. My large butterfly is cut out from Crisp Cantaloupe using the Butterflies Thinlits. The two smaller butterflies are from the Nature’s Perfection Stamp Set and are heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum. My butterflies are all adhered to the card with some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. A few Pretty Pink Posh Lime Sorbet and Tangerine Sequins with a few gold ones are randomly adhered to the background. To give the large butterfly some extra sparkle I brushed it with my Wink Of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. I really like that washi tape and the Wink of Stella looks so cool in person!

    1. Aww, thank you very much Nancy! I do love that saying and I’m so happy that I did it to you! Hope that you had an excellent day! 🙂

  6. Morning Justin! What a fabulous treat for us today…multiple creations! Love all of them. I was trying to find a favorite but really I love them all. And they all have a few sequins! The 2nd card is fabulous…I love those dies. I’ve always been a heart girl so your first card is just gorgeous! Love them all! Have a great day and thanks so much for sharing all of these with us! You are fantastic! 🙂

    1. Hello Karen!
Yay! I’m so glad that you enjoyed them all! They were all a little different! Variety is the spice of life! LOL! You know mw and my sequins! The Ellen Hutson dies are so cool! I really do appreciate your kindness!! 🙂

  7. Oh boy Justin – I don’t know where to start today! The first card is magnificent! You make my heart happy is one of my favorite sayings and the glittering hearts and scattered sequins on vellum actually remind me of an ice cream sundae with sprinkles! LOL That is my favorite of the three although all three are beautiful. When I saw the second card I didn’t see it as the rose with petals that it is, instead it reminded me of love and how tangled up love can get. I don’t know if you will get what I mean by that description but I don’t know how else to explain it. LOL The third card saying is a fabulous description of you and your talents all done with lots of sparkle. What a great way to start the day – seeing three amazing cards on one post!

How in the world do you find the time to do three cards for one post? AND, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out you were Skyping while you did it. I no longer am a good multi-tasker. I used to be when I worked at the newspaper (of course you had to be to work in that crazy atmosphere) but since retiring I have given up on doing more than one thing at a time. Then, in addition to finding time to make three cards you had to photograph them and write the descriptions for your blog. Do you ever sleep?

Congratulations on such a beautiful set of cards and a blog that we all love so much. Big hugs from snowy Maine! Love ya, 🙂

    1. Woohoo! Thank you so very much Grace! I love your descriptions and can definitely see both. Oh, I know just what you mean by tangled up love! LOL! So happy that you enjoyed them all!
I honestly don’t know where I find the time sometimes! I was Skyping while I was making some of them! I can multi-task sometimes, not all of the time! It was a long post to write and I did get to be really late! I have to be better about doing things ahead of time when I can!
You make it all worth the work Grace! Don’t ever forget that! Love and hugs from dreary NY!! XOXOXOXOXOXOXO 🙂

  8. These cards are absolutely adorbs!! You never cease to amaze me!! You have made me a heat embossing, sequin loving, constantly striving to go outside of my box designer!! I am so happy to have you as my friend!

    1. LOL! Thank you Andrea! I am so happy to have you as my friend! I love to laugh with you! And I’m am honored that I have made you the heat embossing, sequin loving out of the box girl that you are!! Love you!! 🙂

  9. Hi Justin!
Wow! Each one of these if beautiful! Love the first one with all the embossing. The second one is so unique for a wedding card – awesome! Third one – again the embossing. Those gold embossed butterflies are gorgeous!
If I had to choose, the second card blows me away the most. But I love them all.
You are SO talented. Thanks for sharing!

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thank you! So happy that you like them, I am partial to the second one too! I’m so happy to have you come by!! 🙂

  10. OMG! These are ALL fantastic! Truely beautiful, you have a special talent, thank you for sharing with us. I think I need to CAS the first one for my mom.

Well Spring is trying to come. We have had dangerous weather here all day long, clusters of heavy rain, hail etc. Then it cleared 70 and sunny. Now we are under severe weather warning, tornados etc. Its only 730 nd it looks lke midnight. LOL I hate storms… I also appreciate the destruction it can do. Take care……

    1. Thank you very much Linda! I really appreciate it!
I have heard that weather by you has been pretty bad! Glad that you got a little reprieve! Stay safe my friend! 🙂

  11. Holy Smokes Justin! These are gorgeous you must have been on a card making roll! Fantastic, just awesome 😉

  12. Justin!! Your “you make my heart happy” card is so beautiful, it could be considered framable art! This is a phrase I often tell my kids! As usual, you’ve created yet another unique piece. Thanks for sharing your talent and inspiring us!

    1. Thank you very much Georgie! I love the phrase too! It should be said more! Have a nice day! 🙂

  13. All I can say is “WOW,” Justin! Your creative genius inspires me. I always enjoy your card designs. Your designs are so varied and always striking. Your adorable creations make me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Your thoughtful collages make me ponder about things that bring adventure and joy to my life. Your designs that display stylish elegance make me say “WOW”! And all the while, I enjoy the visual feast that you so willingly share with us. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Thanks also for sharing your pix and a glimpse into your life. Little Daniel is too cute for words. If ever I could feel a hug, seeing little Daniel takes me there.

    1. That makes me very happy El! I think that is the main reason that I do this, to be able to inspire someone or make them happy! Daniel is wonderful! A happy fun little boy filled with love! 🙂
