Pals Paper Arts 248

Hi there! I’m a little late today, another Friday night out with the gang and it was 2:00am before I got to bed last night! I had a great day yesterday! I had lunch with some friends at work and then came home and made a card quickly before heading over to Scrap-A-Latte for card class with Taylor. I got to play with some new stuff for next month’s class before we had a little dinner with Renee and Angie. There is a Panrea across the street so I ran over and picked it up. Class was so much fun! Brian and Andrew were there last night and Sandy stopped by for a bit too! Everyone had fun and we are thinking that we will need to do two classes next month as it’s already filled up! After class Andrew followed Taylor and I to the bar and we met Marissa, Fred, Anthony and Bill there. Taylor took my car home, so nice to have a child that can drive! Brian had stopped to get some food so he got there not long after us. We had a lot of laughs and I went home with Bill and Anthony. They dropped of Marissa and then me. Nothing like a good card class and then some drinks with friends after!

My card that I have for you today is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 248

I did a nice bright quick card! The base is Melon Mambo Card Stock cut to 5″ x 5″. I used a piece of the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper for the background. My panel in the middle is the library card from the Lawn Fawn Check This Out Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black. The greeting is from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I used some SNAIL and Fun Foam to adhere the library card to the card. The fun glasses are cut from a piece of Tempting Turquoise with the MFT Die-namics Geek is Chic Die and heat embossed with Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. I added some Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh sequins to the library card for some sparkle and that completes the card. I love the glasses and the nice bright Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper, they make for a fun nerdy card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Tomorrow’s going to be a busy day here on the blog so make sure that you come back for the Can You Case It post to announce some more new Design Team members and then the Control Freaks Blog Tour is tomorrow night! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a super Saturday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin!
What a fun, happy card!!! I love the spectacles…. I actually have that die (or one like it).
I’m working on a card class now with the birthday bash dsp, so I am liking the brights.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

    1. Hey Gerri!
Thanks! I needed bright and nerdy and those glasses with the library card fit the bill! I hope that you are having a nice weekend! 🙂

  2. Love, love, love, love, love this card! I have got to get that glasses die! The Library stamp is a riot! See, we miss out on so much by not having a local stamp store anymore! I was expecting to see photos of the cards you made in last nights class this morning but I guess you are saving them to surprise us right? Before I forget, love that you are using post it note pads as a prop for this card photo. I never would have thought of that either. Obviously we know which one of us has the “artistic” touch and it isn’t me! LOL

Sounds like you had a super special evening. Hey, you’re young so staying out late isn’t a big deal. You might as well do it while you can. When we were young Friday and Saturday nights were both for staying out late even if it meant just getting together to watch a movie. It kind of made working all week tolerable. I’m glad you have so many wonderful friends to enjoy your time with. Recuperate today so you can have more fun tonight. Have yourself a Spectacular Saturday. Love and hugs! 🙂

    1. Thank you very much Grace! The glasses are cool! I have had that Library Card stamp for a while and forgot about it! I actually got it while I was in CT last year. I will have pics from card class tomorrow. My photographer was late in getting me the pictures! LOL! I saw the post-its and thought they matched the card pretty well! I have see your house, you have an artistic touch!
I did have a fun evening! I don’t usually stay out late anymore so it’s a shock to the system when I do and then I can’t get to bed early the next day! It starts a vicious cycle! LOL! I love my friends and I am very lucky to have them! Hope that you had an awesome Saturday my friend! XOXO 🙂

  3. Good Morning Justin! Hope you’ve had about your 5th cup of coffee this morning! 😉 Sounds like a super-fun night you had last night! Cool that your card classes are filling up fast! That’s awesome! LOVE this card! Love the bright colors and those glasses are so dang cute! And your little post-it note props are perfect! Have a spectacular 😉 day!!

    1. Hi Karen!
