Pals Paper Arts 249

Hmm… what day is it?! Why I believe that it’s Friday!! And it’s a very good Friday, if all goes according to plan I will have my nice shiny new Apple Watch in my hands later on today! I can’t wait to see all of the neat things that it does! Yesterday was chilly, sort of March like! Umm… Spring… where did you get to?! LOL! After I had dinner I came home and worked on my card while FaceTiming with Michael. He suggested some Blackberry Bliss on today’s card and I wanted Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe! You’ll have to ket me know what you think of those colors! I have a sweet little picture of Daniel to share with you. Yesterday was St. George’s Day in England so Erika put him in his little England shirt!

Daniel England

Just when you think that he can’t get any cuter! I am little biased though!

Now for the rest on today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 249

Yes, the base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Pistachio Pudding. I ran a piece of the PinkFresh Studios Peach and Mint Ombre Airmail Washi Tape down the left side. My panel is a piece of Blackberry Bliss that I embossed with the Stylish Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The flower is one of my favorites from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and cut out with my Paper Snips. I used some Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape to adhere it to the card. My greeting is the Simon Says Stamp Mum and You’re Amazing Dies cut out from Crisp Cantaloupe and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. The words are adhered with Multi-Purpose Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh, Gold, Tangerine and Lime Sorbet Sequins finish the card. I actually really do like the Blackberry Bliss with the Pistachio and Cantaloupe! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! Thanks for visiting and have a Apple Watch kind of happy Friday! 🙂

    1. I love a little artistic input, especially from someone as creative as you! Thanks Michael! 🙂

  1. Awwwww this little guy is so cute! Nice house too, shiny floors! We had a great day in the city yesterday, my friend and I took our kids to “Bounce Inc.” which is a huge place filled with trampolines, they just went bezerk! It was so much fun (and I was only watching)! It was a long day, we left at 6am and got home at 1am this morning! Pity we live a 2 hour drive away! We shopped and drank loads of coffee, and the kids saw the new Avengers movie, good day! The only thing I bought, besides food, was an embossing folder with a sheet music pattern, happy with that 🙂 Anyway, today’s card is beautiful! Your vellum embossing is so cool, and I love the word dies, that’s a good saying! Hope your Friday is awesome! Cheers Justin 🙂 xoxo

    1. Thanks Kelly! Yes, they do have a nice house! I’m so happy that you had a nice time in the city! We have Bounce here too! I have always wanted to go, but I fell I may be a little too old for it! You even managed to pick up something crafty! Thank you! I too love the word dies, especially those nice thin ones! I had a great Friday! Hope your Saturday has been good! XO 🙂

  2. Happy Apple Watch Friday Justin! Did you even sleep last night?? 😉 Can’t wait to hear all about the watch! This has got to be THE cutest picture of Daniel yet. What a little doll! Thanks for sharing…he is getting big, isn’t he? So this is a great card today! I love Michael’s input of the blackberry bliss! Great dies too…so intricate. I know that you used glue to adhere those words but have you tried the adhesive sheets? Those are pretty slick! We are gonna have a nice day…almost 60 and sunny…yay! Hope yours is a good one too!

    1. He he! The watch seriously distracted me from what I usually do Karen! Daniel is quite the photogenic little boy! He is getting big, until you see him next to you and then he seems so tiny! Glad that you enjoyed the card! I do like the Blackberry Bliss, he’s pretty clever! I have the adhesive sheets but have yet to give them a try, I’ll have to! It was chilly here but sunny, glad that you are having nice weather! 🙂

  3. Pretty card. What a cutie your nephew is!! I am biased about my nieces and nephews and they are all grown up with their own now! Live in NE Ohio and got up this morning and my husband told me to guess the temperature. I guessed 32 and he told me nope, lower…WHAT??? It was 25 degrees at 7:00 a.m. EWWWW!!!! (sorry, but that will probably be coming your way!)

    1. Thank you MaryJo! Daniel is pretty adorable! Oh! That’s too cold for this time of year! I think Spring got lost!! It was in the 30’s here yesterday too. Hopefully it won’t last long! 🙂

  4. O.K. – that’s it! Daniel has gone way beyond cute and is headed straight toward adorable! Gosh, wasn’t it yesterday that you were sharing photos of him not yet crawling? Love the shirt and he is definitely a fashionista!

I’m not sure I understand what the big deal is with the Apple watch so please enlighten me. It’s nice to hear you so excited about something and I bet you stay up half the night playing with it right? LOL

So we not only have to thank you for today’s card but also Michael? (Hi Michael) Better be careful or the two of you may become the Dynamic Duo of the stamping world. (I’m cracking myself up – maybe I didn’t get enough sleep)! Have yourself a Fabulous Friday. Hugs to you my friend! 🙂

    1. He he! Yes, he is a pretty cute kid! Time does go so fast, but you know that! My parents got him the shirt when they were there last time!
Oh, the Apple Watch is a fun new gadget! It lets you do most things that you can do on your iPhone! I can even take a call right on the watch, just like Dick Tracey!! Yes, I was up for a while checking out my new toy!
Yup! I was on FaceTime with Michael while I made the card! LOL! Yes, that’s us! The wonder twins of crafting! LOLOL! I had an excellent Friday and I hope that the same is true for you! XOXO 🙂

  5. Love how the DSP matches the embossing, Justin. Hate to see this stamp set go! Thanks for playing with Pals Paper Arts!

  6. To heck with the card ….when`s the watch gonna arrive ??? Yay ! How exciting . So glad you don`t have to wait until June !!!
And that`s one adorable nephew too !

    1. LOL! I am loving the watch Sonny!! I feel all futuristic! I was pretty happy when I got the shipping notification! Glad that you enjoyed the pic of Daniel! Have a lovely day! 🙂

  7. Oh My Goodness, Daniel is sooo cool (and really cute too) 🙂 My two are getting so big! My 11 year old is as tall as me! (I am short 5’2″ – but still, at 11!!) and my littlest is getting so tall and loosing her “baby” face 🙁

This is a fabulous color choice and your card came out so well Justin (and Michael)!! I am still absorbing the Retiring List and it makes me sad, but like everyone says, new things are a coming! I thought you had somehow freehanded the lettering and was trying to figure out how you did that. What an AWESOME die – and really the way you “licorice” it up makes it stand out even more! So step by step, how do you do that with such a small die cut?? VersaMark it? then scatter embossing powder?? then clean it up right? then how to you heat it without making a big mess of paper flying everywhere and not leave a mark on the die??? I really want to try this out but I make messes really easy, lol, and need your tutelage 😉

    1. I’m partial but Daniel is a pretty great kid! They all do grow up so fast! My daughter can pick me up and does often! LOL!
Thank you! I was glad that Michael said to use the Blackberry Bliss! He like lots of bright colors! The retiring list happens every year! It makes me sad too but I keep the ones that I like! The Simon Says Stamp dies are really neat, love how thin they are! I know that they are based of of someones handwriting too! I use a little scrap piece of card stock with some SNAIL to “hold” the die cut. Then coat it in Versa-Mark and heat it, it actually comes off pretty easily! I really do need to do a video! Sigh… now to find the time! 🙂

  8. Daniel is definitely the star of this post, Justin! What a cutie! But, I love your card too 🙂 Actually the BB looks great with the other colors! Thanks so much for joining us this week at Pals Paper Arts!

    1. Yes, he certainly is Peggy! Glad that you enjoyed the card too! I hope that you have an amazing week! 🙂
