Paper Craft Crew 138

Oh work… do you know what my favorite part is? Doing other people’s jobs! Love cleaning up after other people too! Just the best! Anyway, it was decided at some point during the day that Brian, Heather and I would go into Manhattan to get some street meat! I have never had this delicacy before and I can tell you that I probably will never partake in it again! Chicken and rice from a street vendor on 63rd and Sixth Avenue, no thanks! It’s good that I can say that I tried it once and lived to talk about it! LOL! Brian and Heather love it, me… not so much! I am certain that I will be paying for it today at some point! Still, the ride in and back with the stereo nice and loud was worth it! On the way home the choice was Zedd live from the iTunes Festival at SXSW! Forty minutes of EDM bliss! I have a very varied taste in music. We all know that Sam is my favorite but I can also appreciate a little Carrie Underwood, Easton Corbin, Taylor Swift, Zedd, Knife Party and even the occasional Van Halen! Like I said, very wide taste in music! A good way to end a day!

Wednesday, well that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS138 DT Sketch 4-01-2015

I used some of my favorite Stampin’ Up! products along with some other faves from Mama Elephant and Simon Says Stamp! The base of the card is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is a piece of Mossy Meadow. For my background and “picture” I used some of the Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack. A strip of Crushed Curry goes down the left side. My photo frame is the Mama Elephant Polaroid Fun Creative Cuts cut from a piece of Whisper White. The piece of DSP is cut slightly larger than the frame adhered to the back with 2-Way Glue. I used the leaf from Kinda Eclectic, stamped in Mossy Meadow, and the die that I got from Dies By Dave on Esty to cut it out. The leaves are tucked behind the picture frame that is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For the Be I used the Simon Says Stamp Be Sentiment Craft Die and some Mossy Meadow. The creative is from the Simon Says Stamp Be Sentiments and is stamped it in Mossy Meadow on Crushed Curry with the end flagged. The two butterflies, also from Kinda Eclectic, are stamped in Crushed Curry and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly and the Bitty Butterfly Punches and adhered to the picture with Stampin’ Dimensionals. A few Doodlebug and Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are scattered around and they finish off the card. Still love that Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper and the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Stop by our little blog and take a look at what the rest of the designers have done and make a card of you own to enter in the gallery! Always love having you come by and visit! Have a stupendous Wednesday peeps! 🙂

  1. Hello Justin! What a gorgeous card today! I love the dsp you used and to frame it like you did, well, it just looks fantastic. Love the the mossy meadow and crushed curry together as well! I have to say I’m not as adventurous as you are trying chicken from a street vendor! 🙂 Hope your day is going well! It’s Wednesday…yay!

    1. Hi Karen!
Thank you! I really do love that DSP Stack! I can assure you that I will not be that adventurous again! I felt that food all day today! LOL! Hope that you had a nice day! 🙂

  2. I absolutely love the Polaroid frame. I just spent about 8 nights going through all my photo albums and removing photos of my oldest daughter to make a photo board for her 50th birthday party. Many, many of those photos were taken using a Polaroid camera. The best part of that was there was room to note the date and occasion for the photo underneath it. I mention that because now that I see your card I think it might be great to punch out a bunch of butterflies to put between photos. Thanks so much for the idea Justin. I should probably have called you before I started putting the board together and picked your brain! LOL

I hope your Hump Day is delightful and that you don’t end up having too many April Fool jokes played on you! Love and hugs and many thanks. 🙂

    1. Thank you Grace! I love the size of the frame and there is a smaller on in there too! I do love that you can write on the bottom of the original Polaroids! Yes! I think that butterflies between the pictures would be great! LOL! You can call anytime you want!
I did have a good hump day despite that street meat from last night being with me all day! No April fools jokes were played! Love and hugs to you too! XOXOXO 🙂

  3. Wow Justin!
I love the way you used the Adventure Bound dsp on this card. It looks so cool as a polaroid pic. And how did you ever find the ‘dies by Dave’ on etsy? Amazing that he can make dies to fit the stamps.
BTW, I am with you on the ‘street meat’. No way! I’m even hesitant to buy a pretzel on the street but I do it anyway.
Enjoy your day. Thanks for sharing!!

    1. Hey Gerri!
Thank you so much! I really do love that DSP! I stumbled upon him by accident and I’m glad that I did! His dies are great!
Well, I have learned my lesson, no more street meat ever again! I do like the pretzels though! Hope you had a nice day! 🙂

  4. Love this card 🙂 And your comment about street meat–haha!! I think I agree with you!!

  5. Hey Justin, I LOVE this card – everything about it is just awesome, especially the 2 different styles of writing! Hope you suffer no ill effects from the ‘street meat’ – you probably would have by now… I deliberated for months before our US holiday, whether or not we should eat a hotdog from a street vendor in New York, just so we can say we did it. We ended up getting them in Central Park, mid morning so they hadn’t been sitting around all day, lol! They were nice, smaller than we expected though 🙂 I want to come back so much, gotta keep saving I guess 😉 have a great day Justin xoxo

    1. Hello Kelly!
Thank you very much! The street meat was with me all day! Ugh! Never again! LOL! You have to have a dirty water dog! They taste so good! Even my boss when I worked in Manhattan used to eat those and she was a very refined lady! Oh, I hope that you can save and come back!! That would be awesome! Hope that your day was good! 🙂

  6. Yikes, everything is okay after your “street meat” encounter 😀 When we lived in DC, it was scary trying new things there. Most of the time ok! Your card is sooo gorgeous today with the Polaroid framing of the Adventure Pack DSP. The Crushed Curry butterflies add a beautiful element to the ethereal picture behind. I did get my two dies by Dave and I LOVE them!!! I still need to get some great sequins though. You need to tell me what ones to start out with. I’ve got plain white ones with different sizes, a few clear, but I’m seriously lacking for other colors. I know, I could let you shop for me, lol!! 😉

    1. Ha! It was a bad day for my stomach Jill but I’m better now! Thank you! I love that frame and the DSP is just great! I’m glad that you received your dies and love them! I have ordered some more! You should go to Pretty Pink Posh for sequins! She has great ones and so many different ones! Love them! I love all of the colors! I would be happy to shop for you! 🙂

  7. WOW! Looks like an actual polaroid photo, gorgeouis. OMG you are too funny, when I was in NYC I was so impressed by the multitude of street vendors selling anything and everything. Note: I never ate anything from them. LOL I am a nurse, I know better.. Hot dogs may be the exception, I love baseball games and hot dogs.

    1. Thanks Linda! I have eaten from the food trucks but they get awards for their food. I have never eaten from a street cart! Ha! I should have asked you first! Hot dogs are actually the best from a street vendor! 🙂
