Paper Craft Crew 140

So, remember yesterday when I said that I had tags class at Scrap-A-Latte last night? Well, no, it’s actually next Tuesday! It’s good that I put stuff in my calendar on my iPhone, it’s even better when I actually check said calendar! LOL! It’s also good that Renee called me to let me know that she placed the order for next month’s card class and also mentioned that the tags class is next Tuesday! Maybe I need to try and do a little less?! Nah! Yesterday it was overcast here all day but not too cool so that was ok. I came home and Skyped with Andrea for a bit and then puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley. I also watched some YouTube, never a good idea, I just get sucked in and before I know it 2 hours have passed! Pretty neat that it’s Wednesday already though!

And if it’s Wednesday then that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS140 DT Sketch 4-15-2015

A fun simple layout deserves a fun simple card! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I took another piece of Whisper White and used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles and Circles to crate my panel. All of the images and greeting are from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set. I stamped the sunburst in Crushed Curry on the card base and then adhered some Fun Foam to the back of the panel and then adhered the panel to the base. The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzaz and cut out with the leaf die from Dies by Dave. They are adhered under the panel to the base with SNAIL. I stamped the two butterflies in Tangelo Twist and punched them out with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly Punches. My greeting is heat embossed on Blackberry Bliss in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and mounted to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I cut the two banners using the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and adhered them to the card with SNAIL. My two butterflies are adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Kinda Eclectic is one of my favorite sets and I love all of the colors and stitching on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. 1. Lovin’ that stitched die! I like the 3-D effect through the circle cut out and the little banners just hanging out. Very cool.
    Happy Hump Day.

  2. Good Morning Justin:
Kinda Eclectic is one of my favorite stamp sets- I use it for so many different occasions. So how did you find a non SU die for the leaf? This is a really good looking card.
    Happy Wednesday!

    1. Hey Marty!
Yes, One of my favorites too! Thank you!! The leaf die is from Dies by Dave on Etsy! He has a bunch of them! I hope that you had a good Wednesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Good Morning Justin:

This card blew me away! Kinda Eclectic is definitely in the top 5 of my favorite stamp sets. I wish it had come out in photopolymer but my good old Stamp-A-Ma-Jig takes care of that. This card has the dimension and clean yet very beautiful kind of color combination that I love. It’s like a diorama of spring all by itself. I have got to get more stitched dies. I only have one set of rectangles I’m also crazy about the dies that look like little cross stitched x’s going around.

As they say here in Maine – have your self a Wicked Good Wednesday. LOL Love and hugs! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you very much! I do love Kinda Eclectic! I wish that it was Photopolymer too, but then again I wish they all were! I saw the new Memory Box ones, they do look cool!
I did have a wicked good Wednesday! Hope that you did too! XOXOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Super nice card. Love the stitched layers and the great colors. And I love your Blackberry Bliss basket ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. Hello Justin! Love your card! You know I have tried to work with Kinda Eclectic a few times now and it just hasn’t come together. I was trying to do an original design and not something I’d seen posted already. So I kind of gave up on it but thanks to your card, I’m gonna tackle it again. I love the colors, the dies and the layout! You do manage to put a lot into each day Justin…I’m exhausted listening to you sometimes! ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have an awesome day…it’s supposed to be another nice day here…almost 70 and sunny! Yay!

    1. Hi Karen!
I love that set, it pairs really well with Choose Happiness! I do try to cram as much as I can into my days! Sometimes after I type it I’m exhausted too! LOL! I did have a nice day and we had the 70’s too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Oh Justin! I really love this card! Kinda Eclectic is one of my favorite stamp sets. Love what you did with it. Also those stitched dies are great!!

    1. Thank you very much Gerri! Definitely one of my favorite sets and I love the stitched dies! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. LOL, I’m great for using a calendar and making lists, too bad I never look at them after I make them. Love this creation, next to Gorgeous Grunge this is my favorite stamp set. Oh… i’m impatient waiting on my dies by Dave, I know good things come to those who wait!

    1. I’m happy to hear that I’m not alone Linda! LOL! Thank you! I too like Gorgeous Grunge, but Kinda Eclectic is definitely a fave for me! The dies will be worth the wait! ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Yes Justin, I have shown up for events and they are either the next day or I’ve missed them, lol! Good you checked – yay more crafting time ๐Ÿ˜€

This is the set I had to have when the new catalog came out. It’s just….well, different and its so fun! I love the colors you used. Your composition is awesome! It has a lot of depth and cool edging that pops out up more. Yep, I got these SSS dies a few of your cards ago, lol ๐Ÿ˜‰ LOVE them – thanks Justin!

    1. You are definitely making me feel better Jill! I think that I probably would have looked at the calendar before I actually left, well I hope that I would have anyway! LOL!
I agree with you about the set, it’s nice an different but all of the elements combine so nicely together! Glad that you got the Simon Says Stamp dies! They really are great! ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Hey justin, beautiful card!! It looks like a diorama, love the 3D effect! The stitched rectangles (and every other shape ever invented, lol!) make everything look so polished,, and having used them, I feel like the cards don’t look as ‘finished’ without them! It’s a good thing you didn’t actually show up for the tag class that wasnt on, Lol! Better to remember it early than forget it altogether!! Happy Thursday to you Justin! ๐Ÿ™‚ XOXO

    1. Hi there Kelly!
Thank you! I like the 3D look to it too! I agree that the stitching makes a huge difference! I don’t feel that things need a backing border piece with the dies! I guess that sometimes I just have too much on my plate! I hope that you had a good day and are enjoying your Friday! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. You certainly excelled on this Sketch Challenge, Justin! Love the circle cutout, which frames your design so perfectly. Striking color combination! Great design!!!
