SUO Challenges 121

Does it seem like the days just melt into one another for you or is it just me?! Time is just moving along at a rapid pace! It was sunny and not too windy today which was nice. We are supposed to get back up into the 70’s later in the week! Top down weather is just around the corner! Last night after dinner Taylor came home with me and she made a card in the kitchen while I Skyped with Andrea and crafted in the Stampin’ Galley. We ran to Michaels to pick up a container to put a bunch of my cards in for Bill to pick up tomorrow and donate for a raffle prize. Taylor has been making a lot of cards lately and I think that I mentioned that she is going to start a blog of her own. However, we are having a little trouble coming up with a name for it so I thought who better to ask than you guys?! You helped me with the name of my craft space! If you have an idea for a name please leave a comment! Thanks in advance for your help!

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Mother’s Day challenge. It’s coming up so this will be a perfect excuse to get started a little early! My card starts off with a base of Whisper White Card Stock. I adhered a strip of paper from the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper Pack off center to the left. For the tag I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch on some more Whisper White. I stamped the flower from the Lotus Blossom Photopolymer Stamp Set in Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede, the stem is Pear Pizzaz and Mossy Meadow. A piece of Hemp Cord is tied through the top and left extra long. The tag is adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped my greeting from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set in Versa-Mark on Sahara Sand and heat embossed it in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. A combination of Stampin’ Dimensionals and SNAIL adhere them to the card. I love the simplicity of the card and I think the Lotus Blossom looks really cool in those soft muted colors! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the SUO Challenges Mother’s Day challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and upload your Mother’s Day project to the gallery! Thanks for stopping by for a visit today, I look forward to seeing your ideas for a blog name for Taylor! Have an amazing Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Awesome card today! I will shamelessly use that idea! Can’t wait to start following Taylor’s blog too – perhaps named “Taylor Made” or “Taylor Made Cards” of course!

    1. Thank you so much Carol! LOL! Go right ahead! I like both of your choices! Thanks again! 🙂

  2. Taylor could call her blog Taylor Made as a play on tailor made. Love the card. The lotus in a neutral is so soft and beautiful and heat embossing the sentiment really made it pop.

    1. Love it Shannon, but it’s already spoken for! Boo! I will let you know what she chooses! Thanks! I’m glad that you enjoyed the card! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin,
Love this card! The muted colors are so pretty. Lotus Blossom is a great set.
I also vote for “Taylor Made”. Perfect name if it isn’t taken.

    1. Hello Gerri!
Thank you! I love that stamp!
Unfortunately Taylor Made is taken. But thanks for your vote! 🙂

  4. I love “Taylor Made”……great idea!

I also love the colors on this card, Justin!

  5. Good Morning Justin: this is a really pretty Mother’s Day card- you really can’t go wrong with the lotus blossom set.
Taylor made is a really clever name- can’t improve on that!

  6. Hi there! Taylor Made is perfect! It gets my vote.
Sunny here…yes, I’ve been busy here. I stood in rain selling plants to raise money for an arboretum & did quite well. Glad to help out. The surgery hand is still hurting so I’m not getting as much accomplished as I wish.
Glad you are well! Love, Nancy B

    1. Yes, it so good it’s gone Nancy! LOL!
Glad that you did well selling your plants! I’m thinking of you and wishing you a speedier recovery! Love and hugs! 🙂

  7. Oh my Justin – this card is absolutely breath taking! The Lotus Blossom stamp is simply magnificent and the subtlety of your color choices really enhances the stamped image. I’ve fallen in love with this card!

I agree that Taylor Made is a super name for Taylor’s upcoming blog. If her blog is not going to be exclusively cards perhaps Time With Taylor might also be appropriate. Whatever she chooses I’m sure will suit her blog perfectly. It’s so fabulous that she has you to help her set up and get started. Quality time spent between a Dad and his daughter for sure.

Have yourself a Tremendous Tuesday and, if you think time flies by too quickly now, wait until you retire! LOL Love and hugs – XXOO 🙂

    1. Thank you so very much Grace! I love that stamp and was quite happy with my color choices!
Taylor Made would have been great, but someone has it! I like Time with Taylor, I’ll pass it on to her! I love some quality Taylor time!
I had a nice day, it was nice weather here! I don’t think that time could move any faster than it already does! Love to you!! XOXOXO 🙂

  8. Hi Justin! Love your card for today! That lotus flower has been done in a lot of ways but I really love the softness of this. So pretty! I just love everything about this card! I love Taylor Made for the name of Taylor’s blog! Can’t think of another name as this one is just sticking in my brain. Or it could be lack of sleep with the puppy running around. She’s only 4 lbs now but man she is high-energy! We love her to pieces though! 😉 Maybe Taylor can share a couple of her creations on your blog? Just to tie us over til hers is up and running. I’d love to see her style! Have an awesome day…the sun is shining here too and it’s just gorgeous outside!

    1. Hi Karen!
Thank you! I am a huge fan of that stamp! Taylor made would have been great too bad it’s already taken! puppies always have loads of energy! I’m sure that you do love her to pieces! I think that she wants to start her blog now that she has a few cards under her belt! She will get it going soon! I hope that you had a wonderful day! 🙂

  9. Hi Justin, your card is adorable. I just love that paper, don’t you? I just did one with this paper and the paper doilies…if I do say so myself, it was cool. 🙂 I agree that Taylor Made would be perfect, but at first, I thought “Taylor’s Tidbits”. Can’t wait to see her blog, but yes, can she post some things on yours until hers is ready? We love blogs! 🙂

    1. Hello Bobbi!
Thank you! I do love that paper! I hope that they have something similar to it in the new catty! I’ll bet your card was lovely, sounds like it! I have given her all of your suggestions, unfortunately Taylor Made was already spoken for! I have offered her my blog but she wants her own! LOL! 🙂

  10. LOVE this card! Can’t wait to make one like it for Mother’s Day. Thanks for the great ideas. Can’t wait to see Taylor’s blog!

  11. OMG! I love this stamp set, but seeing it in Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake and soft Suede made my heart stop! Love it. Move over Blackberry Bliss….. How about Taylor’s Treasures or Taylored Pieces?

    1. Thanks Linda! Me too! I love the colors! LOL! Still love Blackberry Bliss! Like them both! 🙂

  12. Everyone came up with so many great ideas!! I like Taylor Made and Taylored Pieces (i know she meant perfections, but its cool!!) They are all great 😀 Can’t wait to hear what she picks! Don’t keep us in suspense Justin 🙂

I haven’t seen these subtle colors used with the Lotus Blossom. They really change up the card a lot! It is so elegant that way. Hmmm, whole ‘nother creative idea….. Nice Justin, you really think outside the box 😉

    1. I can always count on you guys for help Jill! As soon as she decides I’ll let you know! I thought that the lotus blossom would look good in any color so why not beige?! I’m glad that you agree! Thank you! 🙂

  13. I love the colors for your card…would never have thought of those for the flower but it works great! For Taylor’s blog, I like “Taylor’s Turn”. Her turn to shine, her turn to share, her turn on sketches (like turn of events). or “Taylor’s Take”, same kind of themes…can’t wait to see her take on things!

    1. Thank you very much Susan! I like the way the flower looks in the browns too! I passed along your name suggestions to Taylor! Thanks so much for your input! She is excited to get started! 🙂

  14. O my gosh! This is GORGEOUS! Never in a million years would I have used Sahara Sand for the Lotus Blossom. Into my “awesome cards” file it goes!
