Typeset Butterfly Thanks

Another late Friday night results in a late Saturday morning! It’s the domino effect! I had a good day yesterday! I went to lunch with my friend Marissa, we had some Monty’s pizza. I snuck out of work a little early hoping that my Apple Watch would get to the house early. It did finally get there at 5:30! I have to tell you that the box was not what I was expecting! It was pretty big for a watch but that was because the Apple experience begins with the packaging! LOL! It was presented quite nicely indeed! Set up was really simple and I was up and running in no time. You use Siri to do a lot of things with the watch which is pretty neat! The digital crown is also used a lot along with the touch screen. I’m really loving it and hardly took out my iPhone at all. Later on I went over to Brian & Kim’s with Taylor and Heather was there too. We had a fire pit night under the gazebo with the heater on too. It was really chilly and pretty windy but nice and toasty inside the gazebo! There was some Cupcake Red Velvet wine which always makes the evening better! A very nice time spent with my peeps! Here is the fire pit and my new toy!

Fire Pit

Version 2

The screen on the watch is incredibly clear! I really does look just like an analog watch!!

Because I got home pretty late last night I made a quick card when I got up this morning. The card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Very Vanilla. I ran a piece of Retro Fresh This & That Designer Washi Tape down the right side. The panel is a piece of Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper and is backed with a piece of Very Vanilla. I adhered a piece of Fun Foam to the back before adhering it to the card. The flag is a piece of Basic Black. I used the Butterfly Thinlits to cut out a piece of Coastal Cabana and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit to cut out some more of the Typeset DSP and Coastal Cabana . They are layered on top of one another with Sticky Strip and Stampin’ Dimensionals. My greeting is some Very Vanilla and Whisper White cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Thanks Die. I layered them and then adhered them to the butterfly wings with some Multi-Purpose Glue. Ok, so maybe it wasn’t such a quick card! LOL! But I do love it! I hope that you like it too and thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a wonderful Saturday! 🙂

  1. Question…not about your card but about the wine! Is the Red Velvet Cupcake wine a dark red?? I have been thinking about getting my daughter a bottle. (I don’t like red wine – I like light ones) Thanks!

  2. Congrats on getting the new watch, Justin! I look forward to more updates as you learn more about it! The firepit (and wine) looks so warm and inviting, you could have made a “wish you were here” card!

I do love your butterfly card. Coastal Cabana is one of my favorites. I really will miss those in-colors. Sure glad I stocked up before the retiring list came out!

    Hugs!
    Jeanne

    1. Thank you Jeanne! I am loving the watch! The fire pit was really nice!
Glad that you enjoyed the card! I too am going to miss Coastal Cabana, and the rest of the In-Colors, I wish I had remembered to get some! Hugs to you too! 🙂

  3. Wow Justin! Are they your initials on the watch??? How cool is that!!! Not to mention all the cool stuff you can do with it. I just ordered an iPad mini 3. My husband’s cell phone broke (the flip kind…lol). And the Verizon sales person told us about a deal they are running on the iPad mini 3. The apple price is $529 but they were selling it for $229 (with a contract of course). I couldn’t resist.
Your card is great! Love the butterfly thinlits.

    1. Yes, they are Gerri! They are on that particular watch face, there are so many of them too! You are going to love the iPad mini, that’s what I have!
Thank you! Yes, those Butterfly Thinlits are the best! 🙂

  4. Good Morning Justin:

Your watch is really neat looking. The only reason I know about Siri is that there was an episode on Big Bang Theory where Raj falls in love with Siri. It was hysterical. So, I gather that you can make phone calls through the watch? I mean really? Can you also Skype with it? The entire thing just seems so futuristic to me that I can hardly grasp the concept. Can you take photos with it also?

I don’t know how you can get out of bed in the morning and make a card right off the bat. I’m having a good morning if I get up and get dressed and don’t put my shirt on backwards! LOL The Coastal Cabana really is gorgeous when backed with black and the Typeset DSP has been one of my favorites. Great job!

Wishing you a Sensational Saturday. I’m sure you will spend the day exploring everything that new handy, dandy watch can do. If you find out you can Teleport with it, stop in for lunch. Love and hugs! 🙂

    1. Hi Grace!
I do love the watch, I used it all day yesterday! Ahh, love the Big Bang Theory! Yes, you can take phone calls but no Skype, there is no camera. You can use it as a remote for the camera in the iPhone which makes it really handy for some cool selfies!
Sometimes I like the cards that I make first thing in the morning better than the ones that I make later in the day! LOL! I have plenty of mornings like that! Thank you! I love that Typeset DSP!
I did have a very nice day! Ahh, wouldn’t that be lovely if we had transporters! I would be by for lunch in a flash! Hope your day was great! XOXOXOXOXO 🙂

  5. Love the card. Is okay if I case it? Also would love to hear more about your watch.

    1. Thank you Marilyn! Yes, CASE away! And thanks for asking! I’ll be talking about the watch more, not to worry! 🙂

  6. Lovin this card and that designer paper. I need to look at the SU paper more often…hmmm…great card…hey, what time is it?

    1. Thanks very much Michael! You have that DSP, I gave it to you! LOL! It’s always Apple Watch time! 🙂

  7. Had to check in and see what you thought if the Apple watch. Looks great. Can’t wait to hear more about it.
    🙂

  8. Love it ! Love your initials …love the face …it is really fine !!! Enjoy ! Keep us posted on how you are enjoying it !!
    Oh…..like your card too !!

    1. Thank you Sonny! Yes, the initials on the screen are pretty cool! I’ll be talking more about it! Glad that you like the card too! 🙂

  9. Justin Krieger, Trendsetter!! LOL. What a happy Friday for u- sneakin’ out early from work AND getting your new toy, I mean WATCH! It is beautiful. And this card rocks. I’m still waiting for my butterfly thinlets. Grrr. Can hardly wait to use them. PS-Aren’t Saturdays the greatest?

    1. LOL! Ha! Yes, that’s me Georgie! It was a pretty fantastic Friday! Loving the Watch! Happy that you like the card too! How long have you been waiting for your Thinlits?! Saturdays are pretty great! 🙂

  10. Oh my gosh, that watch is all that and more Justin!!! It is really gorgeous, I wouldn’t have imagine it to look quite like that – SWEET!! And hey, where is our invite to the fire pit and wine?! We probably would all have to stay over too, you know, no drinking and driving. I call dibs on your sofa! 😀 * Wait I like Grace’s idea – just teleport us over, yah, that’s it – YES, then you can teleport us home too 🙂

WOW on your “fast” card! I can see the influence of the Tag’s class 🙂 The DSP really compliments the AWESOME butterfly element you created!! I cannot wait to try the layering of the butterflies this way 😉 Gorgeous, Justin, just yowza!!

    1. Yes!! It definitely is Jill! I’m loving it! LOL! If I had your number I would have invited you in a second! I think it will be better to wait until I get a new sofa, the current one isn’t that comfortable! I wish we had teleporters! That Grace is so clever!
Thank you! Yes, I too can see the influence but didn’t think about it until you mentioned it! 🙂

  11. Thanks so much for sharing this card. I cased it, with some changes of course, for my mothers birthday card and she absolutely loved it. I usually make pink flower cards for her, so this was an excellent change up.
