Can You Case It #70

Happy Sunday! I do so enjoy my weekends! I had a nice productive morning yesterday, got lots of projects finished. Taylor came over and finished watching the rest of her Ink Masters show, I’m easily distracted by the TV but managed to stay focused! LOL! Last night a bunch of friends went out to celebrate our friend Neal’s birthday. We went to a restaurant in Huntington called XO. The food was really good and we had a great time! There was even some chocolate fondue for dessert! My favorite thing to dip were the little Rice Krispies Treats! When I got home Taylor was here watching another show called Freak Show. I question her taste in TV sometimes! LOL! All in all a really good day! How is your weekend so far?!

My card that I have for today is for this week’s Can You Case It challenge. This time around it’s a Designer’s Choice – May Flowers…

CYCI #70

I wanted something really clean and simple. I was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest. My card base is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb. Down the left side is a piece of the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape. My background is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped my favorite wreath from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in the NEW Cucumber Crush Ink and used my Paper Snips to cut it out. It’s mounted to the card with some Foam Tape. The flowers are from the Garden Party Stamp Set and are stamped in the NEW Watermelon Wonder Ink. I also used my Paper Snips to cut them out. The greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. I coated both the flowers and the greeting in Versa-Mark and then dipped them in Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Powder and heated them with the Heat Tool to give them that super shiny look! They are all adhered to the wreath with SNAIL. A nice simple card using some old and new favorites! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Can You Case It Designer’s Choice – May Flowers challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the projects that Eva’s team has come up with and why not make one and post it in the gallery?!?! Thanks so much for sharing in my day! Have an absolutely wonderful Sunday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin, I thought the super thick embossing power was . . . . Crystal Effects or a window sheet. I like the way it came out, nice accent.
    🙂

  2. Love this, CAS really hits the spot. LOL I thought you used glossy accents, I love weekends….. got some yard work done, veggies planted and craft time. I bought a Minc machine, having fun

    1. Thanks so much Linda! Nope, love that Ultra Thick Embossing Powder! I too love the weekends! Ohh, a Minc huh?! That’s cool! 🙂

  3. Good morning Justin, it’s Monday and my weekend is over -_- It was a good weekend though, so can’t complain 😉 This is a cute simple card, love that little wreath. I can’t believe how thick that embossing powder looks in the close-up photo – “ultra thick” is a good description! How is your friend’s new apartment coming along, any progress with the decorating? No pressure, lol – you’re the busiest person I know! Enjoy what’s left of your weekend Justin! 😀 xoxo

    1. Hey Kelly!
Yes, you are always one step ahead of me! LOL! Glad that your weekend was good! The wreath is my fave and I love that embossing powder! She is waiting for board approval on the apartment so hopefully soon that will be done! I can’t wait to get in there!! I like to keep busy!! I did have a lovely Sunday! XOXO 🙂
