Fab Friday 63

Sweet, sweet Friday! I do love the weekend, I have a lot of projects to get through as always! Yesterday was another nice day but a bit on the chilly side. I worked on some projects last night and spoke with my peeps. It’s supposed to get warmer over the weekend so I will need to go for a ride! After work tonight I’m off to get a haircut and I’m thinking that I may do something a little different, we’ll see. I think that tonight will be a movie night too! What’s on for you guys this weekend?!

I’m over on the Fab Friday blog today for our farewell to the 2013-2015 In-Colors…

Fab Fri 63 5-01-2015

I’m really going to miss Pistachio Pudding, Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe, but I have seen the new 2015-2016 In-Colors and they are pretty cool! My card base is Whisper White Card Stock. The front of my card is a piece of Baked Brown Sugar cut out with the Lawn Fawn Large Stitched Rectangles and I used the Balloons Framelits to cut out the three balloons, overlapping them starting with the top one first. I also cut out two more balloons from Pistachio Pudding and Coastal Cabana. My greeting is from the Crazy About You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Strawberry Slush in the lower right corner. A piece of Window Sheet and Crisp Cantaloupe are also cut out with the Stitched Rectangles. I adhered foam tape to the back of the panel and filled it with some of the 2013-2015 In-Color Sequins and some seed beads. I then adhered the Crisp Cantaloupe panel to the back and then to the card base. A piece of Strawberry Slush is cut out with the Hello You Thinlits and adhered with 2-Way Glue. I love the layered balloons and the fun shaker element! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday Farewell to the 2013-2015 In-Colors! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and enter one of yours in the gallery! Thanks for taking the time to come by and see me today! Have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

  1. Hi Justin
I really like this card. The balloon framelits are super fun.
Can’t wait to see the new colors!
    Let the weekend begin!

    1. Hey Marty!
Thank you very much! I love the Framelits and am glad that they are in the new Catty! Oops! The new colors are great! Yes, bring on the weekend! 🙂

  2. Good Morning Justin:

I’ve decided that you make so many shaker cards that the song that goes “shake, shake, shake, shake your booty” should be your theme song. LOL There, now that I have that song bouncing around your brain you are going to want to yell at me until it’s gone. Too funny.

I think it’s ingenious the way you have cut the balloons and then re-cut them so the centers that you have replaced fit so perfectly together with your shaker portion. I’m wondering how you managed to get all that put together so perfectly! The results of this technique are fabulous and anyone receiving this card will be pretty amazed that it was hand made. Fantastic job for sure.

Sounds like you have a relaxing night planned. Good for you. After a hectic week at work a quiet Friday evening gets you rejuvenated and ready for Saturday and Sunday. Our plans for the weekend are pretty simple. I need to get organized for my trip to CT for the recital and party, the Hubs has the first car show of the season on Sunday. He’ll be at the show, I’ll be watching the race. I also need to get some cards made, my stash is gone! You have yourself a Wonderful Weekend my friend! XO 🙂

    1. Hello there Grace!
LOLOL! Ha ha! That’s great! And yes, that song has been stuck in my head all day!
Thank you! I had fun figuring out how to precede with the die cutting in order to get it correct!
I thought I would have a relaxing night and then I decided that I needed to get some projects finished! I did have a nice long FaceTime session with Mr. Trent! So that was nice! I ho that you get your packing done and that you and you r hubby have a nice Sunday! The weather is supposed to really nice here, I hope that same is true by you! Enjoy!! XOXO! 🙂

  3. Love this card with the cutouts and who doesn’t LOVE a shaker card. I have no plans for the weekend, whatever comes my way.
    🙂

    1. Thank you so much Nancy! Shaker cards are fun! Sometimes, no plans are the best kind to have! 🙂

  4. Love how you overlayed these dies, I want just a few of your creative brain cells. I only had a 4 day work week but I am so ready for the weekend! Tomorrow is scrapbook day with my BFF. YES, 10 hours of bliss…. I really will miss these current colors, I love all 5. I have seen the new colors, I like the taupe alot.

    Take care

    1. Thanks very much Linda! LOL! I don’t know if I can spare nay brain cells! LOL! I love 4 day weeks, but the weekend goes so fast! I hope that you had a nice day with your friend! I too will miss the current In-Colors, but the new ones are cool! 🙂

  5. Hey Justin! Wow, this card is so clever, in so many different ways! I live the way you pieced the blue balloon into the brown sugar card – amazing (as usual…) 😉 My Saturday plans are 1. Get hair coloured & cut. 2. Make and ice 100 cupcakes. 3. Eat at least one of the cupcakes (let’s be honest, I’ll eat at least 2!). Last night I went to the movies with the girls and we saw the new Cinderella movie. It was beautiful, I loved every minute of it! Hope your weekend is awesome Justin! Cheers XOXO 🙂

    1. Hi Kelly!
Thank you! I had fun making the card as always! I got my hair cut, no color yet! Oh, 100 cupcakes, that sounds daunting! Mmm, eating the one sounds fun, I would gladly help with that! Glad that you enjoyed your movie! I help that you are having a great weekend! XOXO 🙂
