Fab Friday 65

Oh yes peeps it’s Friday! A nice short week, loved it! Yesterday it was rather humid here but sunny. We had a little patch of rain last night but only for a few minutes. When I got home from work little Daniel was at my parents! Love to see that little man. We went for a little walk and he shared some of my red velvet whoopie pie. He really liked it! He is like a little bird with his mouth open when he wants a taste of what you have! So cute. I come home after and Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and then made a few cards. A nice quiet evening, so nice to have them once in a while!

This Friday it’s time for another Fab Friday challenge and this week we have a color one for you…

Fab Fri 65 5-29-2015

I just got my Simon Says Stamp Card kit in the mail yesterday and wanted to play with some of the stamps and die that is included! The card base for today is the usual and it’s covered in a piece of Marina Mist. My panel is a piece of Whisper White and across the middle is some Beach House Washi Tape. I adhered the panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. The sun and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Happy and Smile Photopolymer Stamp Set, the sun is stamped in Hello Honey and Memento Tuxedo Black. I cut it out with my Paper Snips and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. The greeting is stamped in Night of Navy. I used the Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle Die to cut out a piece of Night of Navy and adhered it to the card with Ranger Matte Multi-Meduim. A strip of Night of Navy that I flagged the right of side goes across the middle and is adhered to the card with more Foam Tape. A generous dose of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen finishes the card. I love the simplicity and happy feel of the card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday Color challenge! Click on over to the blog to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with for your viewing pleasure and make a card to post in the gallery so we can see your magic with these colors! Thank you, as always, for taking a little time out of your day to come by and see what I have been up to! I hope that you all have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

  1. Boy, you really received your June card kit early. I am expecting mine today. Very cute card.

    1. Yes, I did this month! Not usually the case Germaine! Love the kit, so bright and happy! Thank you! 🙂

  2. Very clean and simple. Great dies! Have a super Friday. Will you be taking pics of Manhattan-henge this weekend? Hope you’ll share…. 🙂

    1. Thank you Grace! Yes, I love the dies! I hope that you had a great Friday! I don’t think I’m going into the city, it has been ages since I’ve been too. 🙂

  3. Justin,
This is a fabulous card!! Love that sun! It makes me smile (as the card says)….lol.

  4. Wow, you didn’t waste any time putting new products to use! Love, love, love the colors and the clean lines of your card!

  5. O.K. – so I go to your blog and see this amazing color combo and think Beach Boys! That alone should tell you I’m older than dirt! LOL All kidding aside this card really did make me think of the beach. This card may look like a simple card until you really look at all the elements. You know how when you watch professional ice skaters they make all their moves look so simple when in fact they are extremely complicated? Well that’s kind of how I see this card. It comes across as less is more type of design yet when you really look at it, it obviously has many well thought out elements. Really terrific job Justin.

Today is housework day – UGH! I used to love Fridays but not so much anymore. Me and the hubs work together to get the house all ship shape so that we have the weekend ready for any unexpected guests that might arrive. Since he retired five years before I did he had all that fun time. So, when I retired I discussed the fact that we were both retired, we both live in the same house and therefore we should both work on keeping it clean. He agreed hence we do the weekly housework together. He really is THE best. LOL

Have your self a fun filled weekend Justin. Headed for Manhattan? Hugs, XO 🙂

    1. LOL! You are too funny Grace! I know the song too! I wanted it to look simple even though like you point out, there are lots of elements! Thank you! I’m glad that you see it!
I hate housework day too! I try to avoid it at all costs! I actually have started to do little things everyday to keep up with it. So far so good! I think that sharing the work is great! Maybe one day I will get to do that! LOL! Your hubby certainly is the best!
I wish you a wonderful weekend! I don’t think that I will be going into the city unfortunately. XOXO 🙂

  6. Hey Justin, gorgeous card, that ‘smile’ die is amazing! I love it! Great colours too 🙂 It’s Saturday morning here, yay! Time for my regularly scheduled plonk onto the couch with a cup of tea, to watch a few episodes of Judge Judy that I have recorded during the week (it’s one of my happy places, lol). I have no plans for today, except some relaxing – looking forward to it! Hope your Friday is awesome Justin 🙂 xoxo

    1. Hi Kelly!
Thank you! I couldn’t wait to get that die! Ha ha! I watch Judge Judy every day! Love her! I hope that you had a very nice relaxing day! XOXO 🙂
