Freshly Made Sketches 187

Another somewhat cool but sunny day here on Long Island. The workday wasn’t too bad yesterday, I managed to get a bunch of stuff done. When I got to my parent’s little Daniel was there in all of his smiling glory! We had dinner and then the two of us went outside and played ball on the front porch with Winston. He loves when Winnie tries to get the ball and just laughs and laughs! So cute! I came home for a bit and made my card for today while I was on Skype with Andrea. After I finished my card I headed over to Heather’s for a drink, she makes the best Whiskey Smash I have ever had and now it’s my drink of choice! I also got to play with the new kitten Pasha, she is just way too cute and lovey as you can see from the picture!

Pasha

Just siting there on my knee. It was actually funny because she just sort of appeared there put of nowhere. We snuggled for a bit and then she bounded of my lap to go and play with her mouse! Just too cute!

My little card that I made for today’s post is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 187

I stayed really true to the sketch, right down to the butterfly! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb cut to 3 1/2″ wide. I cut some vellum with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Craft Die. They are tucked behind a piece of Gold Foil Sheet that is adhered to the card with SNAIL. My label is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Frames Craft Dies from a piece of the NEW Tip Top Taupe and Basic Black. The greeting is from the Butterfly Basics Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered to the card with SNAIL. My butterfly is cut from Basic Black with the Simon Says Stamp Devonshire Butterfly Die. A tiny piece of Foam Tape adheres it to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins adhered here and there finish the card. I love the look of the Tip Top Taupe with the Basic Black and Gold, nice and rich and elegant! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you very much for stopping by today! Have a terrific Thursday 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 145

Well,  it’s been a few hours since my last post! LOL! I had the Control Freaks Blog Tour last night featuring products from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog. If you missed it and would like to see the cards and take the complete tour click HERE! Yesterday was gloomy and rainy until about 2:00pm when the sun came out, a nice way to finish the day! Work was loads of fun, I had some people come in to have their signatures captured and of course the equipment wasn’t working so I had to figure out how to fix that, no surprises there! I came home and had dinner and then realized that I had the aforementioned Blog Tour and I had no projects so into the Stampin’ Galley I went and made my cards and then typed the post with 15 minutes to spare! Ahh… pressure! Anyway, sometimes it’s the best way to work!

So for today, since it’s Wednesday, I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS145 DT Sketch 5-20-2015

When I sat down with this sketch the other day I knew exactly what I wanted to do! Love that! The card base is Whisper White and measures 5″ x 5″. The background is a piece of the NEW Watermelon Wonder Card Stock with a piece of Whisper White on top of that. Across the bottom is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I adhered some Whisper White 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon around the back and made a bow with it too. All of the images and greeting are from the Snuggles and Smooches Photopolymer Stamp Set. The squiggly flower is heat embossed on Crushed Curry with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and cut out with the Circles Collection Framelits. The LOVE is heat embossed in the same on Vellum and both the circle and the vellum are tucked behind the DSP. Another sliver from the DSP is adhered with Foam Tape on top of the ribbon. My greeting is stamped in Watermelon Wonder and punched out with the Ticket Duo Builder Punch and also adhered with some Foam Tape. I used a “Vintage” Paper Clip clipped to the vellum and one of the hearts from the set stamped in Watermelon Wonder and punched out with the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. A little Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen is brushed over it for some sparkle. Finally three enamel dots are adhered in the upper left. I really am loving that DSP aren’t I?! LOL! I t really does have some cool patterns in it! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. Make sure that you stop by the blog and see the rest of the design team’s projects! Thanks very much for your visit today! Enjoy your Wednesday my friends! 🙂

Control Freaks May Blog Tour

freakwelcome2013

Hello there and welcome to this month’s Control Freaks Blog Tour! The theme for this month’s tour is goodies from the NEW 2015-2016 Annual Catalog! It’s always nice to little sneak peek of some of the cool new products that Stampin’ Up! has in store for don’t you think?! If you are following along with the tour then you have arrived here from the very clever and crafty Debbie Henderson’s blog, she always has great projects doesn’t she?! Today, I have two cards, both using some new Designer Series Paper and a new Stamp Set for the upcoming 2015-2016 Annual Catalog!

First up is a simple card that would be great for using up some scraps of DSP. The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. I took another piece of Whisper White and used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out pieces from the left side. I also cut out pieces of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack with to same size circle. After I cut the first one I put the DSP back in the negative space and cut the rest out working from top to bottom. They were held in place with some Post-It Tape and then I put some SNAIL on another piece of Whisper White the same size and adhered the them together. A whole bunch of Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere the panel to the card. My greeting is a piece of Cucumber Crush cut out with the Hello You Thinlits. I also cut out a piece of Whisper White and adhered them together. They are then coated with Versa-Mark and dipped in Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heated to give it that shiny look that I love so much! A little Multi-Purpose Glue holds it in place. I love the simplicity of the card, you can use it for so many different occasions with just a quick greeting change!

CF May Blog Tour - Card 2-WM

CF May Blog Tour - Card 2 Close-WM

My second card that I have for you uses one of my favorite techniques, watercoloring with ink! The base for this card is also Whisper White Card Stock. A piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack is adhered to the base on an angle. The image is from the NEW Best Thoughts Host Stamp Set and is heat embossed on Watercolor Paper with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I used a paint brush, water and some Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush Ink to color in the image. The greeting is from the same set and is stamped in the NEW Tempting Taupe Ink. It’s adhered to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and a few sequins from the “Vintage” Frosted Sequins Pack are adhered with Crystal Effects randomly around the flower. Again, I love the simplicity of the card and the soft look of the watercoloring!

Mojo 398

Just as I thought, it was a very busy day at work. Definitely a Monday. It was also really overcast and not that warm either, tomorrow, rain. At least the weekend was nice right?! I was also reminded by Marissa that we are off on Monday! YAY! Three day weekend, one of my favorite kinds of weekends! LOL! After work I came home and made a card and then took a ride with Taylor. We stopped at Target, because you can never go to Target enough, right?! LOL! When I returned home I watched some of the performances from the Billboard Music Awards. I also watched Sam’s acceptance speech done on large cards. A speedy recovery to him, I can’t wait to hear him sing again!

Before I forget, here are this week’s Stampin’ Up! weekly deals!

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Today, I have my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo398

I wanted to play with the new colors so I took my inspiration from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. The card base is Whisper White Card Stock and the background is a piece of Bermuda Bay. On the lower part is a piece of that very Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper. I adhered a piece of Bermuda Bay on some Fun Foam across the bottom and on top of that is a piece of Pool Party that I flagged both of the ends on. Across the top of the card are three more flagged pieces of Pool Party, also adhered to Fun Foam. All of the images are from the Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set Nature’s Perfection. They are all heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, the butterflies on Crushed Curry and the flower on Watermelon Wonder. Some Foam Tape adheres them to the card. The greeting is from the NEW Host Stamp Set Floral Wings and is stamped in Island Indigo. A few Doodlebug Sequins are adhered to the flower with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I do really like the new 2015-2017 In-Colors, they are a nice mix of bright and subtle! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday Sketch challenge! Thanks so much for taking a little time out of your day to come by and visit, I appreciate it! Have a super Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Players 245, Freshly Made Sketches 186 & Pals Paper Arts 251

Yes, you read correctly, you get three cards today! Not a bad way to start a Monday?! My day yesterday was just lovely! The weather was perfect, I got some projects finished, took ride in the convertible and ran some errands. A very nice Sunday indeed! I even got to relax a little and chat with the people upstairs. I finished the night off with some Chicken Tikka Masala and an Innis & Gunn Rum Cask Beer! Everyday should be like yesterday! How was your Sunday? I hope that it was just as good as mine!

So back to the three posts, I honestly don’t know how I got so behind this week! But I wanted to get them all in, hence the three cards! We’ll start off with the usual Monday card for the Paper Players

Paper Players #245

Despite my manliness I do enjoy making a nice girly card from time to time! The base of this card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I flagged a piece of paper from the All Abloom Designer Series Paper Stack and adhered it to the base with SNAIL. On top of that is a White Tea Lace Paper Doily. The floral piece is cut from some American Crafts Glitter Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Calliope Die and adhered to the card with Ranger Multi Matte Medium. I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Coin Envelope Die to cut out a piece of vellum to serve as the pocket for my greeting which is from the Lovely Amazing You Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Rose Red. I punched a hole in the top and threaded some Hemptique Natural Hemp Twine though it and slipped it into the little vellum pocket. A few sequins from Pretty Pink Posh and some more of the pearls that Mr. Trent sent me complete the card. The pink, pearls and doily make it girly right?!

Paper Players 245-WM

Next up we have my card for his week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge…

Freshly Made Sketches 186

I used the sketch in a not so literal way this week. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb. The background is a piece of Soft Sky and the greeting is stamped in Soft Suede using the Build a Bouquet Photopolymer Stamp Set. I then adhered some Fun Foam to the back and then adhered it to the card. All of the images are from the Hero Arts Color Layering Bird and Branch Photopolymer Stamp Set, I used the coordinating Bird Frame Cuts to cut them all out. For the bird I used Sahara Sand, Smoky Slate and Lost Lagoon, his feet are Hello Honey, the flowers are Crisp Cantaloupe and Calypso Coral and the branches are Soft Suede. A little White Signo Gel Pen and Sakura Black Gel Pen make his eye a little more realistic. All of the pieces are then adhered to the background with either Foam Tape or SNAIL. I just love that bird and can’t wait to try him out in other colors!

FMS 186-WM

And last but certainly not least is my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 251

I got to use some new goodies from the upcoming Stampin’ Up! 2015-2016 Annual Catalog which you can order from starting June 1st! The card base for this one is Whisper White and I ran a piece of the Vintage Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape down the left side. A piece of Tempting Turquoise is embossed with the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used some Fun Foam and SNAIL to adhere it to the card. The flag on top of that is a piece of paper from the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper Pack. The butterfly is from one of the NEW Host Sets called Floral Wings. I stamped the butterfly in Daffodil Delight, the flowers in Melon Mambo and the leaves in Pacific Point. Since the dies aren’t available yet I used my Paper Snips to cut them out and adhered it to the card with Foam Tape. Some pearls go down the body and a few random Pretty Pink Posh Sequins are scattered around the card. Finally my greeting is form the same set and it’s heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Daffodil Delight and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. A fun, bright, cheery card even if I do say so myself!

PPA 251-WM

So there you have my catchup post featuring my cards for this week’s Paper Players, Freshly Made Sketches and Pals Paper Arts challenges! I hope that you enjoyed them all and thanks for coming buy to see them! Have a great Monday! 🙂

Can You Case It #70

Happy Sunday! I do so enjoy my weekends! I had a nice productive morning yesterday, got lots of projects finished. Taylor came over and finished watching the rest of her Ink Masters show, I’m easily distracted by the TV but managed to stay focused! LOL! Last night a bunch of friends went out to celebrate our friend Neal’s birthday. We went to a restaurant in Huntington called XO. The food was really good and we had a great time! There was even some chocolate fondue for dessert! My favorite thing to dip were the little Rice Krispies Treats! When I got home Taylor was here watching another show called Freak Show. I question her taste in TV sometimes! LOL! All in all a really good day! How is your weekend so far?!

My card that I have for today is for this week’s Can You Case It challenge. This time around it’s a Designer’s Choice – May Flowers…

CYCI #70

I wanted something really clean and simple. I was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest. My card base is a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb. Down the left side is a piece of the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape. My background is a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I stamped my favorite wreath from the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set in the NEW Cucumber Crush Ink and used my Paper Snips to cut it out. It’s mounted to the card with some Foam Tape. The flowers are from the Garden Party Stamp Set and are stamped in the NEW Watermelon Wonder Ink. I also used my Paper Snips to cut them out. The greeting is from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits. I coated both the flowers and the greeting in Versa-Mark and then dipped them in Ranger Ultra Thick Embossing Powder and heated them with the Heat Tool to give them that super shiny look! They are all adhered to the wreath with SNAIL. A nice simple card using some old and new favorites! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Can You Case It Designer’s Choice – May Flowers challenge! Stop by the blog and check out the projects that Eva’s team has come up with and why not make one and post it in the gallery?!?! Thanks so much for sharing in my day! Have an absolutely wonderful Sunday! 🙂

I’m getting a late start to my Saturday! The past three days have been busy and I guess I needed to recover a bit! It was another beautiful day here yesterday. Marissa and I even snuck out for a little Starbucks in the morning. After work I headed home once again to retrieve Taylor before going to Scrap-A-Latte to get ready for last night’s card class – take two. It was another great class with Reverse Confetti! Lots of fun peeps including Andrew, Brian, Sandy and Dina! We all had a nice time and they again really enjoyed the cards! Here are some pictures from the class…

I had the urge to use some of the goodies from this year’s Sale-A-Bration, lord knows that I have enough of it left! LOL! My card base is the usual. The background is a piece of Sahara Sand that I cut out with the stitched frame from the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Bundle of Shapes Dies. Down the middle is a piece of the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper. A piece of Ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack goes around the lower half and then the panel is adhered to the card with SNAIL. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles to cut out another piece of the Best Year Ever DSP and some Whisper White. The greeting is from the Best Day Ever Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Calypso Coral Stampin’ Emboss Powder. They are both adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I flagged a piece of Soft Suede and Crushed Curry and adhered them in the top left. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Tangerine and Espresso Sequins are adhered randomly with some Crystal Effects. I love the soft colors in the DSP and the repeated circles on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! I also hope that you liked the pictures from card class and the Mama Elephant cards from last month’s class! Thank you so much for stopping by and have a super Saturday! 🙂

Fab Friday 64

Now that was a busy Thursday! Work was pretty hectic, lots of little things to take care of. Straight from work I stopped by the house quick and picked up Taylor and we headed over to Scrap-A-Latte to finish preparing for card class night one! It was a great time as always, everyone had fun and really enjoyed the cards! Reverse Confetti even sent a bunch of “Class Only Stamps” to give out to the attendees! Class ended at 9:30 and it was then that I realized that I still had my card to make for today’s post! Poor planning on my part for sure! So that’s just what I did when I got home. I did get to play with some new goodies so it’s all good!

And the card that I made for today is for the Fab Friday challenge! This week we have a sketch for you…

Fab Fri 64 5-15-2015

I was tempted to use a flower and watercolor and then I thought, starting that at 10:30 is not a good idea! LOL! But here is what I came up with instead! The card base is the usual and the background is a piece of Pool Party. I used a piece of paper from the NEW Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack for my strip down the left and backed it with some NEW Cucumber Crush. The main panel is a piece of Whisper White, I stamped my candles from the NEW Build a Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay and the NEW Watermelon Wonder Ink. The flames are stamped in Crushed Curry. I stamped the Bermuda Bay one again and cut it out with my Paper Snips, some Foam Tape adheres it to the card. The greeting is from the Amazing Birthday Stamp Set and is stamped in Bermuda Bay, cut it out with my Paper Snips and backed with some Watermelon Wonder. Some more Foam Tape adheres it to the card. Finally, a little brush of Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen on the candles and the card is finished! A nice bright fun birthday that would work for just about anyone! I hope that you enjoyed my card for the Fab Friday sketch! Make sure and stop by the blog to see what the rest of the talented Design Team has in store for you! Thank you so much for visiting and have a fabulous Friday! 🙂

OSAT Monochromatic Blog Hop

OSAT Header

Hello my peeps and a very happy Thursday to you! Today I’m participating in the third blog hop with a bunch of my friends from one of the Facebook groups that I belong to. It’s called One Stamp at a Time Cards and More. The focus this month is using a monochromatic color scheme! I went with Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and Brushed Silver. If you have arrived here from Eva Bussom’s blog, welcome! Eva always has some great stuff. I have two cards for you today, both with a wedding theme, yup still a little stuck on that!

My first card has lots of shine! The base for the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb. For my background I adhered a piece of Silver Fancy Foil Designer Vellum over a piece of Basic Black and then adhered it to the base. The tag is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies and heat embossed with the falling dots from the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Photopolymer Stamp Set in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I cut out some Brushed Silver Metallic with the Simon Says Stamp Ariana Wreath and adhered it to the tag with some Ranger Multi-Medium Matte. On top of that is a butterfly that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Butterflies Dies from a piece of the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum from Sale-A-Bration. On top of that is the greeting that is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Smoky Slate and cut out with another die from the Butterflies Set. A piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied though the top of the tag and some SNAIL and Fun Foam adhere it to the card. And lets face it, it wouldn’t be complete without a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins! I love the butterfly cut from the Designer Vellum and the silver dots on the tag!

My second card is fun and simple! The base again is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I used a stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Warm Winter Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set and some Post-It Tape to create the stripes along the bottom of the base. The background is a piece of Basic Gray that is embossed with the Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I used some Vellum and the Simon Says Stamp Congratulations Photopolymer Stamp Set to heat emboss the greeting in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The sides are folded and adhered to the back of the Basic Gray, with a little extra to pop it up a bit. My flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Smoky Slate and cut out with the coordinating Simon Says Stamp 2 Flowers and 2 Leaves Dies. The middles are heat embossed with more Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and they are adhered along the bottom of the background with Foam Tape. Again, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins randomly adhered around the greeting complete the card. I absolutely love the handwritten feel to the greeting and the stripes stamp makes a really great add on to any card!

Paper Craft Crew 144

Well, the good news is that yesterday the training went much better than I thought it would! Casey was able to do a WebEx meeting with us and I actually knew more than I thought I did, that’s always a nice surprise! LOL! So it was a good day after all! We had hamburgers and beer battered french fries for dinner and then I retreated to the Stampin’ Galley to get ahead start on some projects that I have been working on. I’ll be at Scrap-A-Latte tonight for a while helping prepare for class and then tomorrow and Friday is the class. It was so popular that we added a second night! Woo hoo! This month is Reverse Confetti and I can’t wait to show the cards to you but I still have a month or two left to get caught up with. I’ll post some more this weekend!

Well, it’s Wednesday and that means that I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew blog for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS144 DT Sketch 5-13-2015

I had to play with some more Simon Says Stamp goodies! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb. I used some long forgotten Heidi Swapp Gold Color Shine and flicked it on the card front. The panel on the right is a piece of paper from the Flowerpot Designer Series Paper Pack backed with a piece of Night of Navy. All of the images and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Lovely Spring Photopolymer Stamp Set and they are all cut out with the coordinating Lovely Day Wafer Dies. I stamped the wreath in Garden Green and the heat embossed the greeting in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum and adhered it to the back of the wreath. The second greeting is stamped in Calypso Coral, flower in Crushed Curry, stem in Garden Green and the flowers in Blushing Bride. The are all adhered with Foam Tape and SNAIL. To finish off the card I adhered three pearls that Mr. Trent had sent home for me with some Thermo-Web Bling Glue Dots. I love all of the elements and how well they go with the Flowerpot Designer Series Paper! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge! Take a little detour over to the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has for inspiration for you! I thank you and appreciate your visit as always and I wish a wonderful Wednesday! 🙂
