SUO Challenges 122

Another pretty nice day here, too bad I had to spend it in work! LOL! Work wasn’t too bad but tomorrow might be, I have a training scheduled and the trainer may not show and I don’t know the system well enough to do it my self! Yikes! Fingers crossed! I did have the top down in the car on the way home from work and that made things better for a while. After dinner Taylor and I ran to Michaels, I watched another YouTube video when I got home and had to go and get some Faber Castell Pitt Markers for another project that I want to give a try! YouTube is a very expensive time vampire for me! LOL! I do have a fun picture to share with you, my brother was fixing the siding on his house, he had a little mishap with a Mig-Welder and caused a small fire! Thankfully he had Daniel there to help him!

Just too cute!!

Before I get to today’s post here the weekly deals from Stampin’ Up!:

Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Fun Flowers challenge. I wanted to use some more stuff from the current catalogs before they become Vintage! The card base for today is the usual. I ran a piece of Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape down the left side. The bacground and next layers are pieces from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper. The top layer is adhered with a piece of Fun Foam behind it. On my strip of Whisper White I stamped the stems and leaves from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Wild Wasabi. The greeting is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For the flowers I stamped them in Rose Red and cut them out with my Paper Snips, some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the panel and more Fun Foam adheres the panel to the card. Not an overly complicated card but I really like the unusual layers and the popped up flowers! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s SUO Challenges Fun Flowers challenge. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the blog and see what the rest of the designers have come up with! Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope that you all have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

Paper Players 244

What a gorgeous day! It was sunny with a slight breeze, just perfect! I spent the day crafting and going outside to sit and enjoy the weather. A nice relaxing day. My mum and dad went out to see my brother, Erika and Daniel. Erika took my mum and her mum out to dinner. I Skyped with Eva for a bit and then Taylor and I ran to Target to pick up some essentials. Taylor is watching Ink Masters on the Apple TV and they did inside the mouth tattoos… YUK! Another reason that I don’t watch much TV! How was your day? I hope that all of the Mums had a lovely day spent with their families doing everything for them while they crafted the day away!

I can’t believe that it’s Monday already, but it does mean that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players. Before I show you this week’s challenge I want to thank Laurie for choosing me as her headliner for last week’s challenge! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE. Now for this week’s challenge…

Paper Players #244

Fun colors! I played with some more new goodies! My card base Neenah Solar White 110lb For the background I used a new to me die from Memory Box called Starry Night Background, it’s cut out of Sahara Sand, backed with some Lost Lagoon and then adhered to the base with SNAIL. My tag is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. I stamped the greeting from the Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Encouragement in Lost Lagoon. A piece of Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker’s Twine is tied through the top and the the tag is adhered with a piece of Fun Foam in between. The branch, bird and leaves are cut from Soft Suede and Pistachio Pudding using the Simon Says Stamp Songbird Branch Die. The branch is tucked under the tag and the the bird is adhered with a piece of Foam Tape. Some of the stars and sequins from the 2013-2015 In-Color Designer Sequins are adhered around the card for a little shine. I love that starry background, so much fun and the sentiment is just great! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players color challenge. Thanks for coming by today, have the bast Monday that you can! 🙂

Can You Case It #69

Why oh why must the weekend speed by so quickly?! I guess it’s true what they say… time sure does fly when you are having fun and that’s just what I had yesterday! I woke up a little late as you know, puttered around in the craft room for a bit, spoke to Andrea and then Taylor stopped by. Sue came and picked me up for lunch around 12:40 and we went to a deli in Seaford called Sequa for lunch. I had a panini that was really good and a bag of wasabi ginger potato chips that were delicious! We stopped at AC Moore on the way back to my house and I got some more Washi Tape (like I need that!) and a few more goodies. Back at my house I showed her the page that I did and the cards for this month’s class at Scrap-A-Latte. We looked at a few things on-line and then chatted for a while. She left around 5:30 and I went back into the Stampin’ Galley to work on my card for today’s challenge. I had gotten some new dies from Memory Box and Impression Obsession and wanted to play with them but when I finished the card I didn’t love it so I made another one! I’ll post both of them and you can let me know which one you prefer!

So, off to today’s card which is for this week’s Can You Case It sketch challenge…

CYCI #69

The second card that I made has the usual for a base. I used some Antique Paper Distress Ink to dirty up the sides. The background is a piece of Crumb Cake and on the top part I adhered a piece of paper from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper. The two tickets are from the That’s the Ticket Stamp Set and are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Very Vanilla and also distressed. I adhered them to the card with SNAIL. My strip across the card is a piece of Washi Tape that I got from Michaels a while ago, I adhered it to a piece of Whisper White and then to the card with some Foam Tape. The greeting is something that I saw on-line a few days ago and really liked so I downloaded a vintage typewriter font on the Mac and printed it out a piece of card stock. It’s trimmed and then I used the “Vintage” Ticket Corner Punch to punch the corners. Some more Antique Paper Distress Ink and a piece of Fun Foam behind it with some adhesive holds it to the card. I love that quote so much, I think that it’s very true!

CYCI #69 Card 1-WM

The other card that I made also uses the usual base! The rectangle I used is from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and cuts out a piece of Soft Sky, I adhered some Fun Foam to the back and then adhered it to the card. I cut out the birch trees from Whisper White and the cardinals from Real Red with the Impression Obsession Birch Trees Dies and adhered them to the card with 2-Way Glue, the cardinals are popped up on some Foam Tape. My XOXOXO is also cut out from Whisper White with the Simon Says Stamp XOXO Border Die and backed with a piece of Blushing Bride. For the hearts I used the Memory Box Stitched Hearts Layers Dies. The large heart is cut form Real Red and the small one from Red Glimmer Paper, they are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My Love is also cut from Real Red using the Simon Says Stamp Small Love You Dies and adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered to the card with Crystal Effects. I do love the birch trees, thought I think that they would be more fitting on a holiday card!

CYCI #69 Card 2-WM

So there you have my two cards for this week’s Can You Case It sketch challenge. Make sure and stop by the blog so you can see all of the other wonderful cards made by the rest of my Design Team! I would love to see your take on the sketch too so make a card and add it to the gallery! I really do appreciate you visiting me today and I wish you an incredible Sunday! 🙂

Brick Butterfly Page & March Class Cards

Well, I started off my weekend with some fun last night with some of my peeps from work! We went out to the bar and celebrated my friend Rob’s Birthday. The usual suspects were there and Fred being the bad influence that he is made me stay out until 2:00am! Hence my lateness this morning. I do have to say that watching everyone else drink is much more fun than drinking yourself! LOL! The rest of my day yesterday was nice, it was sunny and warm here again. I came home and had dinner, one of my favorites, homemade mac & cheese! I spent a little time in the Stampin’ Galley organizing and then Taylor came over and we took a ride to the shoe store to see if she could find some new sneakers. She didn’t but we’ll look again tomorrow. After that it was off to meet the rest of hooligans at the bar. Today I’m supposed to see my friend Sue for some lunch! That should be fun!

The project I have for you today is my Mother’s Day present as promised! I also have the cards from the March class at Scrap-A-Latte. But first I’ll get to the… I guess you would call it a layout! I used some papers from the Prima Butterfly Collection. I cut one slightly smaller and adhered Fun Foam behind it and adhered it to the 12X12 page to serve as my base. My brick wall is created using some Light Modeling Paste and a few drops of “Vintage” Bravo Burgundy Re-Inker. I mixed up the paste and color and then used a palette knife to apply it to a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The “bricks” are a piece of chip board from Blue Fern Studios called Shabby Brick Bits. I heat embossed the front with Hero Arts White Embossing Powder and pushed it into the paste. Once it had dried I adhered it to the page and surrounded it with some Prima Flowers, also from the Butterfly Line. The leaves are cut from Vellum and The Paper Cut White Gold Curious Metallic Card Stock with the Simon Says Stamp Clustered Leaves Die. They are adhered under the picture which is mounted to more Fun Foam and adhered to the page with SNAIL. The large butterfly is a combination of the Simon Says Stamp Paulina Butterfly, cut from Vellum, and the Devonshire Butterfly, cut from Blushing Bride. They are adhered to each other with 2-Way Glue and to the page with a thin piece of Foam Tape. The three smaller butterflies are the negatives from the Simon Says Stamp Butterfly Drift Die. A few sequins from the Prima Butterfly Chipboard Stickers Kit are adhered randomly around on the top part of the page with Glossy Accents and one of the stickers is added under the picture. Finally I used some Ranger Onyx Liquid Pearls for the bodies of the butterflies and brushed over the smaller ones with my Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen. I did end up giving this to mum in a frame last week because I couldn’t wait! LOL! Since I finished it way before I also managed to take it outside and get a nice picture, you can even see the sparkle from the Wink of Stella on the butterfly wings!

Pals Paper Arts 250

Yes! It’s Friday and a very happy one to you! It was another nice day here, so glad that we are having some Spring! Sometimes we go right from Winter into Summer! Yesterday was a good day at work. I had the Gala last night but I did come home for a bit and got to play with Daniel for a while before I left. We ran around the backyard and played ball. He is a pretty good kicker for a little guy! Around 5:15 I headed out to go and pick up Marissa, my date for the evening! The Gala was at a new venue called the Space in Westbury. It was really nice, a good mix of old and new. The food was excellent and my old boss Nancy and the CEO and COO were there too. The entertainment for the night was Thelma Houston and she sang “Don’t Leave Me this Way”, remember that?!?! I got home around 11:00 and finished up my card for today. A pretty fun way to spend a Thursday!

Here is a picture of Marissa, Me and Nancy from last night!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 250

I went with a nice clean card. The base is the usual! For my background I cut out part of a circle from a piece of Hello Honey using the Circles Collection Framelits. I adhered some Fun Foam to the back of it and then adhered it to the base. The large and small rings of circles are cut from some Coastal Cabana using the Simon Says Stamp Dots Circles Dies. I cut of the left sides and adhered them with 2-Way Glue. The greeting is from the Fabulous Four Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Baked Brown Sugar and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. Like I said, a very clean card! Loving those Dots Circles and the way they pop against the Hello Honey! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge! Thanks, as always, for taking some time to come by and visit with me! Have a really great Friday! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches 185

You know when you have one of those days, the ones that seem a lot longer than a regular day? That was my Wednesday. It was dreary and rainy for most of the day, well, drizzly. Work was a little on the crazy side. Lots of running around and I can prove that because my Apple Watch tells me that I walked 5 miles! Under normal circumstances I would say that being busy makes the day move along but that wasn’t the case. I came home, had some dinner and spoke to Andrea for a bit and then started to work on my project. I also FaceTimed with Michael for a while, that is always a nice way to end the day. Before I knew it it was 11:00 and I still had a bunch of blog stuff to do. So wait, did the day move fast or slow?! Let’s just say that it was an unusual day! Tonight I’m accompanying my friend Marissa to the LI-LGBT Network Gala. The company that I work for is a sponsor. I’ll try to get some pictures of us all dressed up, it should be lots of fun!

My card for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I want to thank Kim for choosing me as her King of Clean for her sketch challenge from last week! You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE. Now a look at this week’s sketch…

Freshly Made Sketches 185

I received a package in the mail yesterday with some more crafty goodies inside so I had to use at least one of them on today’s card! The base is the usual! For my background I heat embossed the Hardwood Background Stamp on a piece of Whisper White using some Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder (the new goodie!). It’s mounted to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My two flagged strips are pieces of paper from the Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Lawn Fawn Large and Small Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Basic Black to serve as a frame for some Vellum. It’s adhered to the card with Foam Tape. A piece of Daffodil Delight is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Hello Die and heat embossed with Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Some 2-Way Glue adheres it to the card. I really love that Silver Pearl Embossing Powder and I think that it looks so cool with the Hardwood Stamp on White! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thanks for stopping by an enjoy your Thursday! 🙂

Paper Craft Crew 143

HELLO! Yup, it’s Wednesday already, the week is moving along at a nice pace! Work was pretty quiet again yesterday, not complaining! It was warm again here too just not as much sun as yesterday. When I got home last night I didn’t know what I wanted to do! I have so many crafty things that try to get out of my head but I just don’t have enough time! LOL! So last night I thought I would see if I could make a tag. After taking the Tags class at Scrap-A-Latte I thought that it was a fun decorative item to make. I’m plotting some kind of display for them as I’m also planning to make more! So that is just what I did last night. I played with some Tim Holtz stuff! I’ll list the products that I used at the very end of the post, in the mean time here is the tag…

As is the case on Wednesday’s I’m over on the Paper Craft Crew for this week’s sketch challenge…

PCCCS143 DT Sketch 5-06-2015

I have had a bunch of Simon Says Stamp stuff that I have been wanting to play with so that’s what I used for today’s card. My card base today is Neenah Solar White 110lb which makes for an awesome card base! I stamped a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb with the border stamp from the Simon Says Stamp Sending Happy Thoughts Photopolymer Stamp Set in Real Red Ink. The envelopes and hello are also from that set and are stamped in Tempting Turquoise. I used the 3/4″ Circle Punch for the hello and my Paper Snips for the envelopes. Across the bottom of the white panel is a piece of Real Red and across the top of that is some PinkFresh Studios Red and Blue Ombre Airmail Washi Tape. I adhered the panel to some Fun Foam and then to the card base. Some Neenah Solar White 80lb is stamped with the dots from the Simon Says Stamp Nautical Borders Photopolymer Stamp Set in Tempting Turquoise and backed with Real Red. It is also adhered to the card with some Fun Foam in the middle. I used the 1″ Circle Punch to punch out a piece of Brushed Gold Card Stock and slid it behind the panel. The hello and envelopes are them mounted to the card with some Foam Tape. I love that Airmail Washi Tape and the nice bright colors on the card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge. You can head on over to the blog and see what the rest of the Design Team has done with the sketch! I also hope that you enjoyed my tag! Thank you so much for stopping by and I wish you all a very happy Wednesday! 🙂

Mojo 396

So, it was absolutely gorgeous here yesterday. I may go as far as to say that it was perfect! Temps in the mid 70’s and lots of sun! It did make staying in the office a little more difficult but I took my lunch break and sat outside and FaceTimed with Mr. Trent for a bit. Marissa brought in some chocolate chip mini muffins that had a hint of coconut extract in them, delicious! Michael made a good point, they are mini muffins but then you just eat more of them! It’s true because I had three! The ride home in the car was topless and glorious! I had some dinner and then came home and tried to be crafty but I kept having to go outside. I did finally get my card made for today and I’m really excited to share my Mother’s Day present with you which I will do on Saturday! I love the way that it turned out!

The card that I made in between trips outside is for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge…

Mojo396

Ok, so I really am a little obsessed with wedding cards lately, but I think that it’s because I love the Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set and the Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper. I have always loved Sahara Sand so the paper is perfect! The card base is the usual! I stamped the Something Lacy Background Stamp in Sahara Sand on Whisper White and then cut a piece of Sahara Sand with the bottom right angled to match the sketch and adhered on top of the white. The panel is then mounted to the base with Fun Foam adhered in between. My panel in the middle is a piece of paper from Something Borrowed Designer Series Paper and it’s backed with a piece of Whisper White. The greeting and the wreath are from the aforementioned Your Perfect Day Photopolymer Stamp Set, the wreath is heat embossed on Vellum with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder and the sentiment in the same on Whisper White and then punched out with the 1″ Circle Punch. I used some Foam Tape in between each one to adhere them to the card. The flags at the top are the same Something Lacy Background heat embossed with some more Liquid Platinum on Vellum and adhered with Vellum Adhesive. Finally, for a little sparkle I added some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins. I love the Platinum Embossing with the Sahara Sand, it gives the card a fun monochromatic look! I really hope that you enjoyed today’s card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge! As always, I appreciate your visit and I wish a very happy Tuesday! 🙂

Yesterday it was in the 70’s here and I made sure that I would have sufficient time in the car with the top down. Taylor and I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte around 12:30, I wanted to show Renee my page that I made for my mum for Mother’s day. She said that she was pretty impressed as did the rest of ladies! We ran to Michaels over in Babylon to get a frame for the page and pick up some more things that I didn’t need. After that I came home and worked on some projects and finally late last night Taylor and I ran to Target. Not too shabby of a day! I hope that you all had a good weekend too!

Monday… ahh yes.. that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #243

As soon as I saw this one from my friend Sandy I knew exactly what I was going to do! We won’t even mention the card base any more unless it’s not Whisper White! The front is covered in a piece of Silver Foil Sheet. I adhered some Fun Foam to the back of a piece of paper from the  Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack and then adhered it to the card. The Simon Says Stamp Jumbo Jets Dies are used to cut out some more Silver Foil Sheet and the three planes are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Sending Die to cut out a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb and adhered it to the card with 2-Way Glue. The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Another piece of Foam Tape adheres that to the card. A nice, fun , simple masculine Birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Thanks for spending some of your Monday with me, have a great day! 🙂

Can You Case It #68

Hello peeps! How was your Saturday? Mine was fantastic! I got up in the morning and did my post and the rest of the social media hubbub. The I got on FaceTime and had some coffee with Mr. Trent. We also worked on projects while we chatted, a nice way to begin the day. I also spoke to Andrea for a bit. Around 11:45 I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte, with the top down of course, to give Renee my cards for this month’s class. She loved them and even squealed a little at two of them! LOL! I had some lunch with them and just hung out and chatted with the ladies. On the way home I stopped at Michaels to pick up a few things and visit Taylor. Once I got home I had eclectic dinner that consisted of a Matzo, 2 slices of cheese, two pretzel rods, a Resses Egg and a handful of nuts. Surprisingly I wasn’t hungry after that! The rest of my evening was nice and relaxed too, I Skyped with Eva for a bit and then continued the relaxing trend for the day. Like I said a very good Saturday indeed!

So, it’s Sunday and that means that it’s time for another Can You Case It challenge. This week we have a fun sketch…

CYCI #68

I went with another “different” color combination! My card base is… well you know what that is! LOL! The front is covered in a piece of Wisteria Wonder. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut out a piece of Blackberry Bliss. My greeting is from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in Ranger Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder. My heart is the Simon Says Stamp Sketch Heart and is heat embossed in the same. I used some Fun Foam adhered to the back of the Blackberry Bliss panel and then adhered that to the card. My strip of hearts is the Simon Says Stamp Super Heart Border. I trimmed it and adhered it to the card. The positives of the hearts are adhered with Foam Tape along with the Sketch Heart. Yes, I’m still loving that sketch heart and the color combo is growing on me! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Can You Case It sketch challenge! Head on over to the blog and see what the other talented designers have come up with. I hope that some of my crafty readers with take some time and post a card to the gallery so I can see your interpretation of the sketch! Thank you so much for stopping by to see what I have been up to! Have a super Sunday my friends! 🙂
