Paper Players 243

Oh Monday, why must you come so quickly?! I can’t complain because I had a really nice weekend! Yesterday it was in the 70’s here and I made sure that I would have sufficient time in the car with the top down. Taylor and I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte around 12:30, I wanted to show Renee my page that I made for my mum for Mother’s day. She said that she was pretty impressed as did the rest of ladies! We ran to Michaels over in Babylon to get a frame for the page and pick up some more things that I didn’t need. After that I came home and worked on some projects and finally late last night Taylor and I ran to Target. Not too shabby of a day! I hope that you all had a good weekend too!

Monday… ahh yes.. that means that it’s time for this week’s Paper Players challenge…

Paper Players #243

As soon as I saw this one from my friend Sandy I knew exactly what I was going to do! We won’t even mention the card base any more unless it’s not Whisper White! The front is covered in a piece of Silver Foil Sheet. I adhered some Fun Foam to the back of a piece of paper from the  Adventure Bound Designer Series Paper Stack and then adhered it to the card. The Simon Says Stamp Jumbo Jets Dies are used to cut out some more Silver Foil Sheet and the three planes are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I used the Simon Says Stamp Sending Die to cut out a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb and adhered it to the card with 2-Way Glue. The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Birthday Balloons Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and cut out with the Bitty Banners Framelits. Another piece of Foam Tape adheres that to the card. A nice, fun , simple masculine Birthday card! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge. Thanks for spending some of your Monday with me, have a great day! 🙂

  1. AHA Justin – did you sneak a peak at my address book? LOL I have a classmate who was a Lt. Col. in the Air Force, a gentlemen that I was secretary to that is not only a licensed pilot but has his own Lear jet that we used for business trip with him piloting it and a nephew that is a pilot for a major airline flying out of LaGuardia. This is the absolutely perfect card for all of them. What a coincidence? The DSP you used definitely looks like the ocean from above. I also agree with Gerri that it is a reminder of the Blue Angels and also many of the fly overs I see before a race starts. I think this is one of the favorite cards I’ve seen to date, I just love it. Have yourself a Marvelous Monday my friend. XXOO 🙂

    1. LOL! No, I would never do that Grace! It would be a perfect card for your friends! Maybe we are just in sync now! I do love that Adventure Bound DSP, I think it’s one of the best stacks that they have ever had! I’m so happy that you enjoyed it! I had a lovely day with the sun and the top down in the car! I hope that you enjoyed your day also! XOXO 🙂

  2. Happy Monday Justin! What a fabulous card! I love that airplane die..so cool. And as they are flying over the ocean…hmm…going to Hawaii perhaps?? I know a few demos are over there now maybe you made this card in honor of them! 😉 The weekends do go by quickly, don’t they? After some rain last night we are in for another nice day here, right around 70 degrees and sunny. Yay! Make the flowers (and the grass!) grow! I love Spring-time! Hope the start of your week is going well!

    1. A very happy Monday to you too Karen!
Thank you! The plane die is neat and it has the two different sizes! I wish they were going to Hawaii and that I was on one of them! Yes, Brian King left this morning! Jealous! I hate the speed at which the weekends move! But what can you do?! It was a gorgeous day here too! I too love the spring, let’s hope that we have a few weeks of it before summer! LOL! 🙂

  3. WOW! The plane flying over the ocean, fantastic. Looks like the Blue angles, great creation. Please share your mom’s page, I take it you scrapbooked it or media collaged it, I bet its fantastic.
Yep,I dread Mondays, but at least its over, and the weather is gorgeous! sounds like you and Taylor had an awsome day!

    1. Yes Linda! That’s the general consensus! I will share my mum’s page on Saturday! I did a little mixed media scrapbooking and I had fun and love the way it turned out! The weather here is lovely and I always have a nice day with my Taylor! 🙂

  4. Love your card Justin – it’s causing me to have an 80’s flashback and Top Gun moment! Love the metallic planes against the sea – thanks for joining The Paper Players this week and hope the rest of your week is a pleasant one. I’m off to dream of Tom Cruise in his younger days …..!

    1. Thank you Joanne! LOL! Yes, Top Gun works too! I’m happy that I caused you to dream of Tom Cruise! LOL! You have a lovely week! 🙂

  5. Great card, Justin! It looks just like an air show with jets flying in perfect formation. Great card for the challenge and I love the water paper you’ve used. Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!

  6. Very cool card, Justin! Love the jets flying in formation, reminds me of the Blue Angels at Jones Beach. Thanks so much for playing along with my Transporation Challenge at The Paper Players!

  7. This card is so striking! The swirly font of the sentiment die cut looks fabulous against the straight lines of the planes. Thanks so much for joining us at The Paper Players.

  8. Hello Justin: How wonderful that you paired those fabulous silver jets with that amazing DSP from SU, it’s like they were made for each other.
This is a wonderful, elegant and fun birthday card.
Congratulations on being picked at The Paper Players.
    Hugs.
    Maria Rodriguez.

    1. Hi Maria!
