Stylish Violets Birthday

Happy sunny Sunday to you all! It’s nice here this morning but it’s supposed to rain later on and then continue for the next two days. I’m going to make sure and get out for a little while and enjoy it sun! Yesterday was a very relaxing day. I went between crafting and sitting outside. It is nice to have a relaxing day but I have to admit I like it better when I have things to do and places to go! I have a hard time sitting still sometimes! LOL! Last night I decided that I would sneak in a movie so I watched Super 8. I had seen it before but it was a while ago so I figured it was time for a repeat! Little Daniel went to the Disney Store the other day and met Donald Duck! He is so funny how he isn’t really afraid like some kids are. I know when I was little I didn’t like the Easter Bunny or Santa very much! As you can see he liked Donald!

Daniel & Donlad Duck

I have been trying to take a little time and straighten up my craft goodies which have spilled out of the Stampin’ Galley into the living room. In the process I have been finding things I have forgotten that I have like stamp sets and dies! Today’s card uses some of the “found” sets! The base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. My background is a piece of Blackberry Bliss, I heat embossed the greeting from the Papertrey Ink Stylish Sentiments: Birthday Photopolymer Stamp Set in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The flower and leaves are from the Papertrey Ink Year of Flowers: Violets Photopolymer Stamp Set and are also heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Vellum Card Stock. They are cut out with the matching dies. I used a little Ranger Multi-Matte Medium to adhere them to the card. A very simple but elegant card for a special flower loving friend for their birthday, perhaps?! It’s sort of fun “finding” things that I have forgotten about and getting to use them! Do you do that too?! Well, I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that you all have a great Sunday! Thank you for visiting! 🙂

  1. ELIGANT, CLASSY. I always look forward to your daily posts. Thanks for your inspiration.

  2. That little Daniel is the cutest kid! Love him! Cards is great, too!

  3. Oh Daniel is so adorable! He is such a happy little guy!
Your card is very elegant and gorgeous. I find “forgotten” items ALL the time, sometimes when I put away the SECOND same one I just bought!!! Inventory only works if I remember to enter the items when I receive it of course. Just starting with Evernote, but again, discipline (!) and memory (gone) needed.
I just got the stitched square dies!!! at my fav scrapbooking little store. Can’t wait to use them!
Great day yesterday, sunny and very warm until late afternoon. Then heavy rain, still raining and freezing this morning! Have yourself a great Sunday! 🙂

    1. Yes Louise, he is a happy little guy!
Thank you! I love to find things that I have forgotten about! I need to start to keep track of what I have too! I have too much stuff! LOL!
You are going to love the dies! Glad that you had a nice day! It was nice here too but just too quiet for me! 🙂

  4. Cute picture ! Love it ! He will be tons of fun at Disney World since he isn`t afraid of those big critters like a lot of kids .
Just look at the gold . Guess I am going to have to pull out some gold stuff . It is showing up on the blogs lately . You did good with your gold ! Pretty card ! It really pops with the purple !

    1. Thank you Sonny! He isn’t afraid of much at all! He did have fun at Disney when he was there!
I do love some gold embossing! Gold is very on trend at the moment! I love it! Thank you! 🙂

  5. How cute is he!!!! He’s a brave little kid. Most kids have total meltdowns when meeting a large character like that.
You card is beautiful. As always I love the gold embossing!

  6. This card is very nice. Don’t you love when you find something that you have forgotten about. I plan on cleaning my card corner today. A friend is passing on a paper holder. I’m picking it up @ 11 a.m. I can’t wait. Just the incentive I was waiting for to re-organize and be ready for my new gems. How you you organize your stamp collection?
    🙂

    1. Thanks so much Nancy! Yes, I do love when I find treasures that I have forgotten about! Oooh! That’s nice of your friend! I have my stamps all over the place! LOL! I need to organize too! 🙂

  7. Good Sunday Morning to you Justin:

Daniel is so dang cute – I just love it! I also think he is a fashionista and doesn’t even know it yet! LOL I think if I was his Mom I’d be kissing that little face all over several times a day. His smile is worth more money that I could imagine. Thanks so much for sharing these fun photos. Smiling is the best way to start any day and a photo of Daniel always makes me smile!

Blackberry Bliss is one of my favorite ink colors of all time. When paired with gold it magically turns very regal indeed. And, of course, your embossed vellum is just gorgeous. Another wonderful creation that I am sure will be treasured by the lucky recipient!

Rainy and cool here today with rain forecast for Monday and Tuesday as well. I’m glad to hear that forecast as our lawn has started to turn brown due to the lack of rain. I’d also be very happy if we got enough rain to end the high fire warnings we have had for the past two weeks. With all the trees around here that is a very scary thing. Today will be a combination of work and play. I need to continue to iron fresh curtains and get them up but all will stop at 1 p.m. so I can vegetate in front of the “boob tube” and watch the Sprint Cup race. I’ll be glad when the weather is better and you start heading into Manhattan again. I miss those photos. Wishing you a Sensational Sunday………love and hugs 🙂

    1. Hi there Grace!
A good day to you too! Yes, he is a cutie! His mum dresses him really nicely! We all kiss his little face all the time, but I’m usually the only one that gets a kiss! LOL! I’m glad that he makes you smile too!
Yes, I love Blackberry Bliss! It’s a nice deep purple! It does make things very regal with the gold too! Thank you!
It was sunny here for most of the day and then turned rainy. We are also supposed to have rain Monday and Tuesday. Ahh, you and your races! I hope to get to the city soon, it’s been way too long! Hope that you enjoyed your day! XOXOXO 🙂

  8. I totally agree with Grace about Daniel and your card!
I have been cleaning out my stamping room and found untold treasures. The rest of it is going to our huge Rubber Rummage Sale! I can’t wait. Whatever doesn’t sell goes to charity, and that’s fine with me. I hope people appreciate all the vintage (retired) stamp sets from yesteryear. I don’t even care if they turn around and sell them on ebay as long as nothing finds its way back to my house! All proceeds go to my new catalog orders so I don’t have to worry about paying for them. I get a tidy account with my wonderful demonstrator who is running this whole event. What fun!
Have a great week! Nancy B

    1. Thank you Nancy! I need to get some things together to sell! I need some money to buy new stuff! That does sound like a great idea! I need to get some things together for sure! I hope that you enjoyed your day, mine was way too quiet for me! 🙂

  9. I agree with other posters about how cute Daniel is. I love his smile. Your card is beautiful with the embossed vellum flower and leaves, the colors and the sentiment. Love it all!

    1. Thank you HJ! He has a very happy smile! I’m glad that you enjoyed the card too! 🙂

  10. Awwwwww Daniel – too cute, I love that he’s not scared of Donald! When my son Jake was 3, I took him to The Wiggles concert, and I have a photo of him (crying) and I, with Jeff and Murray – the (original) purple and red Wiggles. He refused to stand with them on his own… He’s 20 now, and still loves concerts, his taste in music has changed a little though, and now he crowd surfs!
Anyway, back to the card! It is gorgeous – l love that embossing on the vellum, and it looks so good against the blackberry! Monday morning again *sigh. Enjoy what’s left of your weekend Justin! 🙂 xoxo

    1. Yay! Yes, he is Kelly! Not than I’m biased or anything! LOL! I was not a fan of characters when I was little either! I remember the Wiggles from going to the UK when I was younger! I didn’t like them either!
Thank you very much! I need a simple card every so often! Almost Monday for me too. Bummer! Just in time to look forward to the next weekend! XOXOXO 🙂

  11. This card is a beauty rich elegant I love finding craft goodies that I forgot about almost as good as that new stash feeling. Lol I to hate just sitting people say I can’t relax but I think I relax very well when I’m crafting or reading I love how kids react to the Disney characters, heck I love them too take care

    1. Thank you very much Linda! I too like finding things that I have forgotten about! It is almost as good as getting new, especially since I don’t think that I ever used it before! LOL! I am not an idle person, I don’t understand how people can just sit there! Glad that I’m not alone! Who doesn’t like a Disney character?! Hope your day was good! 🙂

  12. That Daniel is just TOO cute! Another stunning card Justin, so elegant! After I smack my head for not using the craft supplies I just had to have, I love finding buried treasures. It’s like shopping all over again 🙂
