SUO Challenges 122

Another pretty nice day here, too bad I had to spend it in work! LOL! Work wasn’t too bad but tomorrow might be, I have a training scheduled and the trainer may not show and I don’t know the system well enough to do it my self! Yikes! Fingers crossed! I did have the top down in the car on the way home from work and that made things better for a while. After dinner Taylor and I ran to Michaels, I watched another YouTube video when I got home and had to go and get some Faber Castell Pitt Markers for another project that I want to give a try! YouTube is a very expensive time vampire for me! LOL! I do have a fun picture to share with you, my brother was fixing the siding on his house, he had a little mishap with a Mig-Welder and caused a small fire! Thankfully he had Daniel there to help him!

Just too cute!!

Before I get to today’s post here the weekly deals from Stampin’ Up!:

Today I’m over on the SUO Challenges blog for our Fun Flowers challenge. I wanted to use some more stuff from the current catalogs before they become Vintage! The card base for today is the usual. I ran a piece of Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape down the left side. The bacground and next layers are pieces from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper. The top layer is adhered with a piece of Fun Foam behind it. On my strip of Whisper White I stamped the stems and leaves from the Painted Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set in Wild Wasabi. The greeting is heat embossed in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. For the flowers I stamped them in Rose Red and cut them out with my Paper Snips, some Stampin’ Dimensionals adhere them to the panel and more Fun Foam adheres the panel to the card. Not an overly complicated card but I really like the unusual layers and the popped up flowers! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s SUO Challenges Fun Flowers challenge. Don’t forget to pay a visit to the blog and see what the rest of the designers have come up with! Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope that you all have a terrific Tuesday! 🙂

  1. Love your Blog! I think the weekly specials you listed are from last week. 🙁 There is a new set out today.

    1. Thank you Judy! You are probably right about the weekly specials, that just means that Stampin’ Up! can’t updated it on their end, but thanks! 🙂

  2. Hi Justin:

I didn’t get the Painted Petals set for some unknown reason, most likely because I have so many sets with flowers in them already. I really do like that flower and the stems and now that I see them on a card I”ll have to rethink it.

Thanks for sharing that photo of Daniel and his Dad. It’s so cute when little ones imitate what they see their parents doing. I bet he was a HUGE help! LOL

We didn’t get the rain they promised us in our area. I don’t normally wish for rain but I sure do at this point. It’s cloudy today so there may be some hope yet. Not much else going on. I’m still packing for my trip and am anxious to head out. I have a really tight schedule for the entire time I’m gone and I know I’ll be exhausted when I get back. The dance recital is always amazing and I know the birthday party will be a lot of fun. I’m excited to get to see my sister from Florida. I only get to see her every 3-4 years. I hope your trainer shows up today and the day is better than you anticipated. Love and hugs :)!

    1. Hello Grace!
I know what you mean, I have a ton of flower sets but I really do like the soft look of the ones in this set!
I’m sure that Daniel was Huge help! LOL! Jason is really good about him helping and from the looks of the pic he’s going to be a lefty!
We had hot one here today, I think that it got up to 88! You are going to have so much fun on your trip! I always book myself full when I go away but I always like to get the most done that I can! My day turned out to be pretty good! Love and hugs to you! 🙂

  3. I love Painted Petals and Painted Blooms DP, hate to see them go. I absolutely love tghis creation, especially how you popped the blooms. Thank goodness for Daniel, too cute

  4. Hi Justin!
I’m playing catch-up on your blog. I love the pics of your nephew. He is so adorable!!
I’m really surprised this stamp set was not included in the new catalog. Love the way you popped up the flowers.

    1. Hey Gerri!
Thanks for catching up! Yes, Daniel is a cutie, thanks!
I too like that stamp set, sometimes I don’t get why they leave things out! LOL! 🙂
