SIP Challenge 3 – Colors

After a fabulous weekend today was a pretty low key day. I had to drive out to Middle Island for work with my friend Marissa to go and help out with the implementation that I’m doing. We were out of the office from 11:30 to 3:30. It’s an hour each way. It definitely broke up the day and I enjoy spending time with Marissa, she’s a lot of fun! After work I came home and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley and Skyped with Andrea. I did go and meet Heather to watch her boyfriend play softball, just an excuse to take a ride in the convertible!¬†Not a bad way to end the night! ūüôā

It’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge! This time around we have a fun color combination for you…

SIP Color Challenge 3

This is definitely one of my favorite color combos! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Smoky Slate with the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and then used the Impression Obsession Square Cutout Border Die down the right side. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Foam Tape. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Real Red, with the middles in Smoky Slate, and cut out with the coordinating 2 Flowers and 2 Leaves Dies. A piece of Bermuda Bay is cut out with another die from the Stitched Bundle of Shapes and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam. I adhered the flowers to the banner with SNAIL and Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red on White and adhered to the banner with some more Foam Tape. Some more Bermuda Bay is cut out three times with the the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die, they are adhered to each other and the card with 2-Way Glue. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I love the nice pop of the red against the Bermuda Bay and the subtle Smoky Slate background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper color challenge! Click HERE to go over to the blog and check out the inspiration from the rest of my talented Design Team and enter your card in the gallery! We can’t wait to see what you come up with! Thank you so much for checking in with me today! Have a terrific Tuesday! ūüôā

Mojo Monday 404

Happy Monday! I had a¬†nice fantastic weekend! Saturday in Manhattan and then some quality time cleaning the car yesterday. I finished off the evening with a little¬†Chinese food and a movie with Mr. Trent. We watched the end of The Devil Wears Prada and then Into the Blue. I also managed to get some crafty stuff done yesterday too and ran to Target. It was rainy and overcast most of the weekend but when you are having that¬†much fun you don’t even notice! I hope that you all had a nice weekend too!

Monday, and it’s time for another Mojo Monday sketch challenge from the one and only Julee Tilman…

Mojo404

You know that I love a Tall & Skinny! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My base for the background is a piece of Smoky Slate. Two pieces of paper from the Authentique Seaside 6X6 Collection are up next. The¬†anchor is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Night of Navy. I used the Mama Elephant Sew Fancy Creative Cuts to cut it out and adhered it to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. My¬†Happy Birthday is from the From My Heart Stamp Set and is stamped in Night of Navy on White. I flagged the ends and adhered it to the circle. I love all of the nautical-ness (is that even a word?! LOL!) of the card, a perfect birthday card for any guy! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. Now head on over to the blog and see what other inspiration awaits you from the rest of the team and enter your card in the gallery! Thank you so much of visiting today! Lilac Silhouettes Thank You & Manhattan

Hi there! Despite the rainy day yesterday I had a great day! I headed into Astoria to pick up Michael, put the top down in the car and then off to Manhattan we went. There was quite a bit of traffic going across the 59th Street bridge but it doesn’t seem so bad in the car with the top down! We arrived at my friend Kim’s house around 9:15 and headed to the diner for a little breakfast. After that we went back to Kim’s apartment and dis-assembled the large IKEA bookcase. We sat and chatted for a while and Kim had said that she wanted to go and find a couch. Our first stop was Macy’s and a little Starbucks to help with concentration! From there we headed up to Pottery Barn and that’s where she found the couch. It’s a really nice comfortable one with a matching storage ottoman. After the furniture hunting was finished we went to Nick’s for a really late lunch/early dinner and had some delicious pizza. Then it was back to Kim’s for a little digestion and then Michael and I came back to my house and hung out with Taylor and watched some TV before I took him back over to Sue’s house. I can’t think of a nicer way to spend a Saturday! Here is a little picture of the three of us from one of our cab rides!

Man do I love my peeps!! ūüėÄ

The card that I have for you today is¬†actually one that I made a few week’s ago. I was inspired by a tag that my friend Holly had made. I was in my parent’s back yard and was looking at the Lilac bushes and remembered that I had seen a clever way to make some with one of the stamps from Summer Silhouettes. To start off the card I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and covered the front in a piece of Wisteria Wonder. The main panel is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb, the Simon Says Stamp Medium Dot Line Die is used to punch out the circles down the right side. I then threaded some Gold Thread with a few purple Swarovski Crystals and some Pretty Pink Posh Gold Sequins through the holes and secured the thread behind the panel. The panel is then¬†adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Foam Tape. My¬†images are from the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set and are stamped in Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and Old Olive. I adhered the stamped panel¬†to some Elegant Eggplant. For the greeting I used the “Vintage” Simply Celebrate Stamp Set and heat embossed it in Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Vellum. It’s secured to the back of the panel and then adhered to the card with SNAIL. I love the sequins and crystals on the gold thread and the simple look of the flowers! I hope that you enjoyed today’s card and that it inspires you to use a stamp set in a different way! Thank you for coming by and sharing in some of my adventures too! Have a simply lovely Sunday! ūüôā

Pals Paper Arts 257

Yes! I got my “new to me” car yesterday and I love it! Three hours was spent at the DMV, but that’s the price you pay! I left work at 12:00 and headed over to the car place to get the paperwork and then off to DMV. My parents were there with me for a while and then Heather came up with some Starbucks and the line really moved once she got there! We went back to my house to drop off my old car and then headed up to the dealer to pick up the new one. We stopped back at my house and dropped off Heather’s car and went for a nice ride! It handles completely differently from the Chrysler, it’s nice and sporty. Later on Heather and I went to Monty’s for some pizza and then we met some peeps from my work at a bar to say good bye to Thomas and Keri who are leaving. When I got home Taylor called and asked if she could borrow my old car because her alternator went in hers, talk about perfect timing! So yes, I had a very nice Friday! Here is a picture of the new wheels!

Saab 9-3 Arc Convertible

Yeah I think I’m pretty flash in it! LOL!

Now on to today’s card which is for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge…

PPA 257

I took some liberties with the sketch this time! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Calypso Coral. I used the Project Life Corner Rounder on both the right corners of the card base and the background. The background is a piece of Mint Macaroon with a strip of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack down the left side. I adhered the panel to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. The greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Die to cut it out. Behind it a piece of Pacific Point with both ends flagged and under that is some Silver Thread. The flagged strip and the greeting are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I’ll say it again, that Pretty Petals DSP Stack has some great colors and neat patterns in it don’t you think and I love that Ombre Ink! I really hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts sketch challenge! I always appreciate you stopping by and I hope that you have a fantastic weekend! ūüôā

Fab Friday 67

A super happy Friday to you! Hopefully it will be a super happy Friday for me too! Fingers crossed that the car is ready today! ūüėÄ I had a great day yesterday! I got some stuff accomplished at the office which sometimes can be a feat in itself! After work I put the top down in the car and stopped by the house quick before heading over to pick up Michael. We went to Scrap-A-Latte so that Renee and Michael¬†could discuss his upcoming classes. Michael¬†are even going to try and do a joint class together! From there we stopped at Friday’s for some eats. Love those warm pretzels with the craft beer cheese! After dinner I drove him out to Astoria where he is staying at a friends apartment in his old building. He is working at the Ink Pad in Manhattan and it’s a nice quick commute! A pretty great day! ūüôā

Today I’m over on the Fab Friday blog for our color challenge…

Fab Fri 67 6-26-2015

All of the fun new In-Colors! I have to admit that I thought about this one for a while! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. The entire front is covered in a Mint Macaroon striped piece of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Star Framelits to cut out pieces of Delightful Dijon, Cucumber Crush and Watermelon Wonder in graduating sizes and adhered them from smallest on the bottom with some SNAIL and Fun Foam. My greeting is from the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Tip Top Taupe with the left¬†side flagged. It’s also adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Finally, some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects for, well, a little sparkle! I really do like that Pretty Petals DSP Stack, the colors in it are fun and the patterns are nice and varied! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for the Fab Friday color challenge! Take a minute to visit the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s projects and don’t forget to enter your card in the gallery! Thanks so much for spending some of your day with me! Freshly Made Sketches 192

Hello there and how are you today? I’m ok, I did find out today that I won’t be picking up my car until Friday. Why is it that people can never stick to a time?! Oh well, what can you do?! Today was another gorgeous day! Sunny and a little less humid, perfect top down weather! Work, let’s skip that! LOL! As soon as I got in the car I put the top down and was immediately in my happy place! I came home and Skyped with Andrea while I made my card for today. Later on I went and met Michael, Sue and her husband for dinner at Texas Road House. I had a delicious Caesar salad and got to give Sue her birthday card. She loved it, but then again she told me that she was going to steal it when she stopped by my house last week! LOL! Dinner with friends is always a nice way to end the day!

My post for today is for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge but before I get to that I want to thank Kim for choosing me as her Prince for last week’s challenge. You can see the winners post HERE and my original post HERE! Now on to this week’s sketch from Jen M….

Freshly Made Sketches 192

I wanted to use a star but that was too obvious! LOL! The card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock¬†and the front is covered in a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the We R Memory Keepers Next Level Woven Embossing folder to emboss the basket texture on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb. Some Fun Foam, SNAIL and Multi-Purpose Glue adhered it to the card. My circle is a piece of Daffodil Delight that I cut out with the Circles Framelits. The outer circle is cut from some Cucumber Crush using the Simon Says Stamp Dots Circles Die. My smile is cut from Watermelon Wonder with the Simon Says Stamp Smile Circle and they are both adhered to the card with 2-Way Glue. A few Pretty Pink Posh Watermelon¬†and Shamrock Sequins are adhered around the circle and then the circle is adhered to the card with Fun Foam and SNAIL. Another card with some bright colors but my favorite part is that Embossing Folder, such amazing texture! I hope that you like my card for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge! Thank you, as always, for spending a little time with me today! Have an amazing Thursday peeps! ūüôā

Paper Players 250

It was another hot one here yesterday, and a little on the muggy side too. We were supposed to get rally bad thunderstorms but they missed us thankfully! It did rain for bit but not much. Work was tons of fun yesterday as always. Daniel was at my parents, he always makes the day little better! After I spent some time with him I headed over to Brian & Kim’s for dinner and Heather was there too. So nice to just sit on the deck and laugh, just the way summer should be! The clouds were pretty cool last night, don’t you think?!

Clouds BK 6-23-2014

My card for today is quite fitting! It’s for this week’s Paper Players theme challenge…

Paper Players #250

I used a lot of the stuff from last month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I covered the front in a piece of Cucumber Crush. The patterned paper is from the Doodlebug Sunkissed Collection, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders Dies to trim off the right side and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. My panel in the middle is made from¬†a piece of Pumpkin Pie that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Die, next up is a piece of Daffodil Delight and another piece of the pattered paper. I used the Project Life Corner Rounder on them and adhered them to each other and to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My banner is also from the Stitched Journaling Card Die and is cut from Tempting Turquoise and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I cut the sunglasses out from another piece of Cucumber Crush with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Geek is Chick Dies, the lenses are a piece of Silver Foil Sheet. To finish off the card I adhered two of the DoodleBug Summer Sprinkles Shapes. I think that the card is bright and happy and with all of the ice creams on the paper and the embellishments it definitely fits the Summer Treats theme! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you so much for spending a little time with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! ūüôā

SIP Challenge 2 – A Sketch from Me!

What a beautiful day it was here yesterday! In the 80’s with plenty of sun! An actual summer day! Work was busy, a typical Monday. I came home and had dinner, Skyped with Andrea while I made a card and then just vegged for the rest of the evening. A nice quiet way to end the day!

Today it’s time for the second Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! I want to thank everyone that participated in the first one, what an amazing collection of cards we had in the gallery! Now on to this week’s which is a sketch from me…

SIP Sketch Challenge 2

One of my favorite layouts! The card base for today is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I adhered a piece of Basic Black to the front with SNAIL. The main panel is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb, down the left side is some of the map washi tape from Michaels along with the road one that comes with it. I adhered the panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My tag is cut from another piece of Neenah 80lb with the Simon Says Stamp Large Tags Dies. I stamped the image from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set in Memento Tuxedo Black and the greeting is from the “Vintage” Sale-A-Bration Set Big Day stamped in Real Red. Before I adhered the tag I took a Memento Tuxedo Black Marker and edged it to give it a little more definition. A piece of Hemptique Black Hemp Twine is tied though the top and then it’s adhered to the card with more SNAIL and Fun Foam. Three Recollections Enamel Dots complete the card. I love that map washi tape, especially paired with the card from the Guy Greetings set! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter yours in the gallery for a chance to be a pick for this week. Maybe you will even get audience favorite! Mojo Monday 403

Yes, there goes another rapidly dwindling weekend. Although I have to say mine was very good. Yesterday was pretty relaxing. I had waffles with Taylor in the morning for breakfast and then went over to my parents’ because Daniel was there. He was in his “What’s that?” phase yesterday, that’s where he just sits and points at things asking, “What’s that?” over and over again. It’s usually the same thing, but he’s cute so it doesn’t matter. I came home and then Daniel came over to visit me, because he likes to do that now. LOL! We played a little bit more “What’s that?” in my house before he looked at me, said bye, grabbed my mother’s hand and left. The rest of the day I just relaxed, it’s nice to have a day like that every once in a while. I hope that you all had a good weekend too.

The good thing about Monday’s is that it’s time for another Mojo Monday challenge! This week’s sketch is provided by the very talented Julee Tilman…

Mojo403

I haven’t done a mostly white card in a really long time, so I thought I’d give that a go today. My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I wanted my flagged piece and my greeting to match, so I coated the end of the flagged piece in Versa-Mark and heat embossed them with Ranger Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder. Next up is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb that is adhered to the card with some Fun Foam and SNAIL. My greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Stamp Set and is heat embossed in the same Liquid Platinum Embossing Powder on Vellum. I die cut my wreath using the Simon Says Stamp Danville Wreath and adhered it to the card with Kool Tak Clear Foam Tape. To finish off the card, I adhered a few Hazel & Ruby The Makery Shine and Sparkle Sequins on the wreath with Crystal Effects. I really like all of the white with the splashes of platinum and I love the way the greeting and the wreath match. I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch. Please take a minute to head on over to the blog and see what the other designers have for inspiration for you and enter your card in the gallery so we can see your take on the sketch. Your visits are always greatly appreciated. Have a magnificent Monday! ūüôā

Waves Ombre Anchor, Card Class and an Extra!

Happy Father’s Day! I will be spending my day with Taylor and my Dad who is one of the most incredible people I will ever know. He is kind and giving, willing to help anyone out at anytime. I can only hope to be as awesome as my dad is and I’m sure that you feel the same way about your fathers! Yesterday was a rainy day here. I went and picked up Michael and we took the scenic route through some towns on the north shore including Cold Spring Harbor to get to Huntington. We had a particular destinations in mind, a little stamp store called The Moon Rose. We met the owner, Diana Kovacs, who also designs her own stamps. It was nice to look around and chat with her, she and Michael knew many of the same people. The store is small and cozy, It’s located behind an art gallery called FotoFoto, there are two tables for classes and plenty of nice bright lighting. Here are some pictures of the store…

Oh look, there is Mr. Trent!

Me & Diana

And here I am with the owner, Diana. You can visit The Moon Rose Facebook page and show her some love by liking it!

After our visit to The Moon Rose we went to SmashBurger for lunch and then came back to my house and just relaxed. Later on we stopped by Michaels to see Taylor and pick up a few things, including some Chinese food for dinner. When we came back to the house Michael remembered that he need to make a card for his dad so he headed into the Stampin’ Galley and made a nice quick card. He is going to do a post about it today and I’ll add a picture of his card as soon as his post goes up!

My card for today is also a nice simple Father’s Day one. I used Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock for the base and adhered a piece of Night of Navy to the front. The main panel is stamped with the Hero Arts with Basic Grey Waves Background Stamp inked in Pool to Navy Hero Arts Ombre Ink. Along the bottom is a piece of Bermuda Bay. I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Scallop Borders to create my waves along the top. My greeting is from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set and is heat embossed in White Hero Arts¬†Embossing Powder. I adhered some Fun Foam to the back of the panel and then adhered an MDF Anchor that I picked up from Michaels with Foam Tape. The top of the twine is tucked into a notched out piece of the Fun Foam and adhered with a Glue Dot. The panel is then adhered to the card with SNAIL. I really do like that Waves Background Stamp, especially inked in the Pool to Navy Ombre Ink!
