Mojo 400!

And just as they promised it was a rainy and cold day here all day yesterday. Not my favorite kind of day but if it’s going to be rainy it may as well be during the week! I did have a pretty nice day despite the weather. I got a lot accomplished at the office and my mum made Chicken Marsala for dinner which is one of my favorites! When I got home I made my card for tonight and Taylor stopped by. I also chatted with Andrea and Michael for a while, not a bad day at all! Oh, don’t forget that today is the first day that you can order from the NEW 2015-2016 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!! You can also order from the 2014-2015 and Occasions Catalogs today too! I know you have those lists ready so what are you waiting for?!?! Just click one of the catalogs to the right to place your order!

So today marks the 400th Mojo Monday sketch challenge!! I’m very proud to say that I have participated since challenge 220! That means that I have made 180 cards for the Mojo Monday challenge!! Crazy! I also would like to throw my hat in the ring to be considered for the Design Team!

They are going back to their roots for this sketch, it’s the very first one that they had…

Nice and simple and this was one of those that I put together in my little brain while I was at work! The card base is Whisper White Card Stock. My background is a piece of Whisper White that I stamped with the Dictionary Background Stamp in Smoky Slate. On top of that is a piece of Vellum Card Stock,Β I heat embossed the greeting from the Hello Life Photopolymer Stamp Set in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Some strategically placed Multi-Purpose Glue adheres it to the Dictionary piece. I used the Circles Collection Framelits to cut out the bottom left corner and used the Project Life Corner Rounder to round the three remaining corners. Before I adhered it to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam I adhered a piece of paper from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper Pack in the lower left corner. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sequins finish of the card with a little sparkle! I love the muted look of the Dictionary Stamp behind the Vellum and I purposely didn’t adhere the corners, I think it gives it a lot more dimension! I really hope that you enjoyed my 180th card for the Mojo Monday 400th sketch challenge! I have had so much fun playing along with them and I look forward to 400 more! Thank you for coming by and I wish you all a simply amazing Tuesday! πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you Nancy! It’s definitely a fun sketch! Hope you stayed dry again! πŸ™‚

  2. Gorgeous card and congrats on 180th…..WOW that is a lot of cards! Best of luck for the design team spot. That would be awesome ….. and would help you fill up your “free time” {grin} LOL. Sunshine here today, still not quite warm but getting there. Have an amazing Tuesday too. πŸ™‚

    1. Thank you so much Louise! 180 cards is crazy! LOL! I would love to be on the MOJO Team! Yes, I need to fill up that free time right?!?! It was another rainy and chilly day here too. Hope you had a nice day! πŸ™‚

  3. Good Morning to you Justin:

I absolutely love when there is a partial cut out on the front of a card. Makes for such an interesting look. I use the corner rounder quite often. I think that the round corners make for a nice soft look. So tell me – what did you do with the 180 cards you made? Often, if I am using a sketch as inspiration I will print out the sketch, then make a few of the cards based on the sketch and attach one of the cards to the printed sketch with a paper clip and then file it in a notebook. That way, when I am brain dead and need a quick card, I can just pull out the notebook and see what I have done before. I never end up with the same design, colors or card but it does tend to get the creative juices flowing when the brain doesn’t want to work on it’s own! LOL

Glad to hear that yesterday was a good day despite the lousy weather. It’s raining here today again also but I am thankful to have the high fire warning disappear for sure. Also, my brown grass is finally turning green. Our brown log home doesn’t look so great with matching brown grass! LOL

So you are going to be a design team member! That would be so great and you just have so much extra time every day that you need to fill (NOT)! It will be fun to see what you come up with. Great card today – no surprise there. Have yourself a Terrific Tuesday! Luv ya! XO πŸ™‚

    1. Hello Grace!
Yes, I have to agree, I tool like when a chunk of the front of the card is gone too! I forget about the corner rounder, I need to use it more too! I have most of the 180 cards here in my apartment! I really do need to open that hope and sell them! I print the sketches and keep them! I have a lot! LOL! That is a good idea that you have, I have pictures of every card that I have ever made! That’s a lot of pictures! I love to start with a sketch, it does get the creative juices flowing for sure!
We have to make the best of the day despite the weather, after all it always changes! I’m glad that you are getting the rain that you needed and yes, green grass always looks better!
I would be honored to be a Design Team member, I have just put my name in for consideration! LOL! I have loads of time! I play along every week and have for a long time! It wouldn’t even be extra! Thank you! God that you like the card! I hope that your Tuesday was terrific too! Luv ya too! XOXOXO X πŸ™‚

  4. Another fantastic card with great-to-try ideas! If the design team doesn’t take you, they are in for a huge loss. We, your loyal followers, know your worth — priceless!
Grace, I am so glad to hear that your high fire warning is gone! That’s a very scary thing to live with, especially with all the DSP and cardstock you must have!
