Mojo Monday 402!!

An extra happy Monday to you! I had a lovely day yesterday! Heather came by and picked my up at 10:30AM and we headed over to the Roosevelt Field Mall. She wanted to go to Charlotte Russe and I wanted to go to Aeropostale. Heather ended up getting three dresses and I got a pair of pants and a button down casual shirt. We wandered around a little and then headed over to the food court for some lunch. We decided on this place called the Melt Shop, we both had BLT’s and Tater Tots with Parmesan and Rosemary and it was delicious! On the way back from the mall we stopped at Century 21 where I got some more Ben Sherman shoes. One more stop at the Broadway Mall so Heather could pick up another dress and I got some shorts and sunglasses from the Aeropostale there and flip flops and a t-shirt from Old Navy. Quite a productive shopping day! The rest of the day was spent straightening up and crafting, the perfect Sunday! I hope that your Sunday was just as good!

Today is my first post for the Design Team over at Mojo Monday!! How cool is that?!?! Here is this week’s sketch from the very talented Julee Tilman…

Mojo402

I’m always quite inspired by the Mojo sketches and this one is no different! My card starts off with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, I covered the front with a piece of Very Vanilla. Another piece of Very Vanilla is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies. I then used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies to cut out the negative space on the right along with the other circles. Before I adhered the stitched panel to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam I placed a piece of paper from the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack so it would sit under the negative. The next largest circle is also a piece of the same DSP. On top of that going across are a piece of Mint Macaroon and Calypso Coral with the ends cut off at an angle. My greeting is from the A Whole Lot of Lovely Host Stamp Set and is stamped in Hero Arts Light to Dark Peach Ombre Ink on Very Vanilla. A piece of Fun Foam and some SNAIL adhere it to the card and it’s done! I really do love the patterns in the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack and that Ombre ink is just so cool! I really hope that you enjoyed my first card for Mojo Monday as a member of the Design Team! Now go on over to the Mojo Monday blog and see what the rest of the talented designers have created to inspire you and play along by entering your card in the gallery! Thank you so much for visiting with me today! I wish you a magnificent Monday! 🙂

  2. Great card, Justin. Congrats on being on this DT. This DSP is great and is on the list for my next order. I have to CASE this card. Can’t wait to see other team members’ designs.

    1. Thanks HJ! I’m honored to be on the Mojo Monday DT! So glad that you like the card, love that DSP! 🙂

  3. Hi Justin:

Love, love, love the way you gave the card such wonderful dimension by making the largest circle a negative image and backing it with that beautiful DSP! Absolutely gorgeous to say the least. The color combination is just so summery, soft and spectacular. I bet this card was really fun to create!

It sounds like you had a perfect Sunday which is always so welcome when you are working full time. It was a quiet day here. The weather could NOT have been more perfect. We had some company in the morning and watched the race into early evening due to multiple rain delays. It ended in a downpour with 138 laps of the 200 that it was supposed to run. Well, at least they got a “full” race in – anything over half the laps run when the weather isn’t cooperating is considered finished. One more evening of hand sewing binding then just putting the hanging sleeve and tag on this quilt and it will be finished. I really need to make some cards so when the quilt is done I can take out ink pads and supplies and get busy with that. What are your plans for your Dad for Father’s Day? I hope it’s something really special. You have yourself a Marvelous Monday my friend. Hugs, :)!

    1. Hello Grace!
Thank you!! I love having a negative on a card! It does give it a little more oomph! The DSP is one of my faves from the new catty! I did have a lot of fun making the card!
I did have a perfect weekend! Saturday was great and so was Sunday! The weather was lovely here all weekend too but today made up for that! LOL! Not that I mind, I would rather have rain during the week! Sounds like you had a nice day too! I think that my dad watched the race too. Can you send me a picture of your quilt when it’s finished? I would love to see it! I am going to spend the day with my dad and Taylor, I think that my brother is coming over with Daniel too. It should be a good time! Love you!! XOXO 🙂
