Paper Players 250

It was another hot one here yesterday, and a little on the muggy side too. We were supposed to get rally bad thunderstorms but they missed us thankfully! It did rain for bit but not much. Work was tons of fun yesterday as always. Daniel was at my parents, he always makes the day little better! After I spent some time with him I headed over to Brian & Kim’s for dinner and Heather was there too. So nice to just sit on the deck and laugh, just the way summer should be! The clouds were pretty cool last night, don’t you think?!

Clouds BK 6-23-2014

My card for today is quite fitting! It’s for this week’s Paper Players theme challenge…

Paper Players #250

I used a lot of the stuff from last month’s Simon Says Stamp Card Kit. The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and I covered the front in a piece of Cucumber Crush. The patterned paper is from the Doodlebug Sunkissed Collection, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders Dies to trim off the right side and adhered it to the card with SNAIL. My panel in the middle is made fromย a piece of Pumpkin Pie that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card Die, next up is a piece of Daffodil Delight and another piece of the pattered paper. I used the Project Life Corner Rounder on them and adhered them to each other and to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. My banner is also from the Stitched Journaling Card Die and is cut from Tempting Turquoise and adhered to the card with Foam Tape. I cut the sunglasses out from another piece of Cucumber Crush with the My Favorite Things Die-namics Geek is Chick Dies, the lenses are a piece of Silver Foil Sheet. To finish off the card I adhered two of the DoodleBug Summer Sprinkles Shapes. I think that the card is bright and happy and with all of the ice creams on the paper and the embellishments it definitely fits the Summer Treats theme! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you so much for spending a little time with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Oh my Justin! You really managed to get quite a lot on this card. I do need to get that glasses die. I just love it and by you adding the silver foil to the frames for the “glass” certainly was artistic. I never would have thought to turn those glasses frames into sun glasses. You are something else! LOL

I’m glad you missed those storms. We also missed them but Connecticut got hit pretty hard and I’m still waiting to see how my kids made out. A friend sent me some photos of her neighborhood and boy, what a mess. Lots of people still without power. The hubs left for CT at 6 a.m. and I hope he doesn’t have a problem with closed roads etc. He should be at the place he is staying by noon and I’m anxious to see how he made out and if there are still a lot of power outages there. Very scary.

Meanwhile, I will do some grocery shopping in preparation for my daughter and SIL’s arrival tomorrow night. It’s going to be hot here today and humid also. How I hate the heat! I’m so much more comfortable when it’s under 74 degrees. You have yourself a Wicked Good Wednesday. I may have to play “catch up” again once the kids leave.

    1. Thank you Grace! Yes, it’s jam packed! LOL! I love those glasses and I do think they look neat with the “mirrored” lenses!
I too am glad that they missed us. They did make a mess all over, the weather is just crazy lately! I hope that hubby made it to his destination ok! The weather is really scary!
No, you are not allowed to say that you hate the heat! LOL! I like the summer, my top in my car is always down and that makes me happy! I did have a good Wednesday, hope that you did too! Hugs! XOXOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Wow, your card just screams summer. I love how you put everything together. Glad you were not hit by severe weather.

    1. Thank you Crystal! Mission accomplished! LOL! I’m glad that the weather missed us too! ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Very summery indeed. Like sprinkles on a cold ice cream cone. Very happy card.
Bet you can hardly wait till tomorrow!!! Have yourself a great middle of the week day! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you Louise! You can almost taste the ice cream! LOL! My car has been delayed, as usual. ๐Ÿ™

  4. Great card, Justin. I love all the elements and the ice cream DSP adds a lot as well as the Sprinkles. Bright, cheery and anyone would love to get this card.

  5. Justin, I love your card! So sweet and summery… makes me want to take my shoes off and run on the beach with an ice cream cone! Love the dies too. And your clouds? LOVE!!! I have this weird habit of looking at clouds all the time, and seeing if I can find things in them. In yours? I see a dinosaur face with his mouth open (on the left) and a puppy with a seal on his nose (on the right, over the roof of the house). I know, you think I’m a nut case… but I love to do that. I find all sorts of things! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you Bobbi! I love the images that I conjure up! So cool! The clouds were just too cool not to take a pic of! I too look to see if I can find things in the clouds! I can see that now too! Were are all just kids at heart! If you are a nut then I am right there with you! ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Justin, what a FUN card! I love all the bright colors and the sunglasses are fantastic! The mix of fabulous patterns and the shiny treats make me smile! Thank you for joining my challenge at The Paper Players this week! XX

    1. Thank you Claire! I’m not usually a bright card but the summer makes me want to use those colors! Love the challenge! Have a wonderful weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Hey Justin, what a cute card!! Very summery (I say this as I sit by the fire, with our big, fluffy white cat on my lap!) Hope your working week gets better! I have 2 days left, then we’re off to the city to see 5 Seconds of Summer in concert! Yay – so excited!! Then on Sunday we’ll catch up with my family, whom we don’t see too often, due to the distance. Should be a good weekend, but a couple work days to get through first! Have a great day Justin ๐Ÿ™‚ xoxo

    1. Hi Kelly!
Thank you! LOL! You are enjoying your cooler weather! The work week never seems to improve, what can you do! Oh, you do go and see a lot of cool concerts!! I want to come and live by you! Sounds like a lovely weekend! Have the best time! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Cute, cute, cute. I haven’t even started to play with this kit yet, I love it, just not enough time.

We have had horrid weather, 9 tornados touched down Monday night in Central and Southwest aeas. My cousin lives in one of the towns, she survived with tree damage only but she said the destruction is everywhere. Not much of a great summer, but it beats winter. Take care

    1. Thank you Linda! I’m a bit late with it too! I usually hoard the papers but why?! LOL!
I’m sorry that your weather is so bad, after the winter that we had you would think that we would get a break?! I hope that all of your people stay safe! Yes, it is still better than winter. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Your card is *definitely* happy and bright, Justin! Simon Says has SO many cute ideas and so many great vendors; *love* their variety!!! Very festive card! Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks El! I love all of the fun things that you can get at Simon! I especially like their exclusive products! ๐Ÿ™‚
