SIP Challenge 3 – Colors

After a fabulous weekend today was a pretty low key day. I had to drive out to Middle Island for work with my friend Marissa to go and help out with the implementation that I’m doing. We were out of the office from 11:30 to 3:30. It’s an hour each way. It definitely broke up the day and I enjoy spending time with Marissa, she’s a lot of fun! After work I came home and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley and Skyped with Andrea. I did go and meet Heather to watch her boyfriend play softball, just an excuse to take a ride in the convertible! Not a bad way to end the night! 🙂

It’s time for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge! This time around we have a fun color combination for you…

SIP Color Challenge 3

This is definitely one of my favorite color combos! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Smoky Slate with the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes and then used the Impression Obsession Square Cutout Border Die down the right side. The panel is then adhered to the card with Fun Foam, SNAIL and Foam Tape. The flowers are from the Simon Says Stamp Flowers on My Mind Photopolymer Stamp Set and are stamped in Real Red, with the middles in Smoky Slate, and cut out with the coordinating 2 Flowers and 2 Leaves Dies. A piece of Bermuda Bay is cut out with another die from the Stitched Bundle of Shapes and adhered to the card with more Fun Foam. I adhered the flowers to the banner with SNAIL and Foam Tape. The stamped greeting is from the Simon Says Stamp Sending and Wishing Photopolymer Stamp Set and is stamped in Real Red on White and adhered to the banner with some more Foam Tape. Some more Bermuda Bay is cut out three times with the the Simon Says Stamp Wishing Die, they are adhered to each other and the card with 2-Way Glue. Finally some Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins are adhered with Crystal Effects and complete the card. I love the nice pop of the red against the Bermuda Bay and the subtle Smoky Slate background! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper color challenge! 1. Absolutely gorgeous. Love the colors, your layout, and all the awesome die cuts.

  2. Hey Justin, NICE WHEELS!! Gorgeous car, I bet you are very happy with that! Glad you had a fun weekend, we did too! 5 Seconds of Summer were fantastic in concert, that drummer is amazing!! We spent Sunday with my family, which was really nice, and today is my birthday! I had lunch with friends and enjoyed my day, got very spoilt!! Today’s card is stunning – I love the colours and the die cut word is beautiful! Well Justin, I hope your week continues to be great! Cheers 🙂 xoxo

    1. Hi Kelly!
Thank you! I LOVE the car! Nice and zippy! I’m happy to hear that you also had a great weekend! I have to go and listen to some of their other music, I only know the one song. It’s your birthday! A very Happy Birthday to you!!!! Yay for being spoiled! I’m glad that you like the card! I find that when you are happy the week can not be good! Hope you enjoy your week too! XOXOXO 🙂

  3. Fabulous card, Justin. The cut out border die adds so much interest. Of course, leave it to you to come up with an unusual way to use a new item. The colors with the real red against the Bermuda bay on the smoky slate background make a stunning card. I’m going to CASE this one, but it won’t be the same because I don’t have the cut out border die. It is going on my wish list.

    1. Thank you so much HJ! I love the cut out borders from Impression Obsession! The color combo is definitely a favorite of mine! Hope you had a great day! 🙂

  4. Hi Justin:

I really like that color combination and your card is, as always, just so unique and beautiful. I have to agree with HJ about the border dies….I mean really who ever thinks to die cut a die cut! LOL It really does work and make for a gorgeous card. You did good my friend!

I have been distracted because my daughter surprised me when she visited this weekend with a tablet and a WiFi set up. Now I’m trying to learn how to use the dang thing. I have wanted one for a few years so that I could become familiar with the technology but on a fixed income was reluctant to spend the money. I’m trying to learn to Skype – wish me luck.

I want to say Hi to Kelly and wish her a Happy Birthday. Hope you have a wonderful day Kelly. Justin – I wish you a Terrific Tuesday with an evening of fun and laughter. Love & Hugs, XO 🙂

    1. Hi Grace,
Thank you so much! LOL! Yes, multiple die cutting is my new specialty!
Gasp!! You have a tablet and Wi-Fi! That is awesome!! You will get Skype and when you have it mastered we can chat! Yay!
I had a fun evening and yes, a very happy birthday to Kelly! I hope that you enjoyed your day! XOXOXO 🙂

  5. Love seeing your cards, Justin! Does anyone make a rectangular stitched cutting die that measures 4″ x 5 1/4″?
    Eileen

    1. Thank you very much Eileen! The largest Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle is about that size! 🙂

  6. What a pretty colour combo to work with!! Wow you know how to find these dies!! I love the square cut out one and the way you have used them all! Very lovely!!

  7. *Great* color combo, Justin! *Love* your design. The IO cut-out in the smoky slate panel really creates a great background for the tag and flowers. I’ve got to add that to my collection. Thanks SO much for sharing!
