Many Thanks Floral & The Ink Pad!

A good afternoon to you! I had a nice lazy morning and then went out to brunch with Heather and Michael. We just went to the local Deli and sat outside, but it was very nice and quiet. Yesterday I was in Manhattan all day at The Ink Pad. I helped Michael in the morning until Barbara got in. He did a few demos of Color Bursts and Stick-It. As an added bonus Sally Field came into the store with her grandson. She was very sweet and unassuming. After work Michael, Barbara, Jane and I went out to dinner at Umami Burger. We had these sweet potato fries that were covered in maple syrup and bacon, they were absolute heaven! The burgers were quite good too as were the panko onion rings. A very nice way to spend a Saturday! Here is a little shot of the front of The Ink Pad…

So today I have another simple card. I took a piece of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and stamped the Simon Says Stamp Diagonal Stripes Background Stamp in Pale Blush Pink directly onto the card front. My panel is a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb, I stamped the flowers in the same pink and the leaves in Green Apple from the Simon Says Stamp Many Thanks Photopolymer Stamp Set. My greeting is stamped in Black and some Fun Foam and SNAIL adheres the panel to the card. A few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins give a little shine and complete the card. I hope that you enjoyed my simple Sunday card! Thanks for coming by to visit with me today even though I’m late! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday! 🙂

  1. You certainly did have an exciting day, especially seeing Sally Field and her grandson. Beautiful card today. I love the diagonal background and thought it was DSP until I read that you stamped it. It looks great and was actually the first thing I noticed about the card. Great use of the PPP clear sequins. Isn’t she an amazing young woman!! I’m sure your Sunday will be as exciting as usual.

    1. Yes, it was a really good day! Meeting Sally Field was great, she was so sweet! Glad that you like the card, the background was embossed and I love the Sequins and yes, she is great! Sunday was relaxing and fun! 🙂

  2. How cool to have Sally Field drop in the store. Love her work. Is she a stamper too?
    Beautiful card today Justin.

    1. I think that she is a closet stamper Gerri! LOL! She is very talented and so nice! Thank you! 🙂

  3. This card reminds me of Mary Englebreit`s Friday Flowers . So cute !
Always enjoy hearing about your adventures and activities . Wonder if Sally is into stamping ?
Boy , those Sweet Potato Fries sound yummy !!

    1. Thank you very much! I’m so happy that I get to share my days with you! Yes, Sally does stamp! The fries were heavenly! 🙂

  4. I paid a visit to The Ink Pad a couple of years ago while on a trip back home. Very nice person in the store and great stock. I encourage “tourists” to go and visit with them.

    1. I love The Ink Pad and yes, the people there are great! Maybe one day we can meet up there! 🙂

  5. OMG your dinner sounds so yummy! Great creation as usual, I love the diagonal background, that stamp has been sitting in my basket, well now I know I need it, Thank you!

Its so cool to see a famous person, I love when they are down to earth. I think us “Regular” folks often forget that these stars have lives and interests outside of what we know them for

    1. Dinner was delicious!! I love that flower stamp, you won’t regret getting it!
I like meeting famous people but they are just people just like you and me! Just with some more money! 🙂

  6. Hey Justin, what a cute card, beautiful soft colours! I love the green apple ink colour too 🙂 How exciting to see Sally Field – it’s great that she is interested in stamping – all the best people are, lol 😉 Well, I did it, I moved my stamping room inside! I LOVE it and I have already made a card!! So my plan worked! It’s my husband’s birthday today, and I made him a red post box with a couple of ‘letters’ poking out – he absolutely loved it! I hope your Sunday is just as good as your Saturday was – I wonder who you’ll meet today!?! Cheers my friend 😀 xoxo

    1. Hello Kelly!
Thank you! The green is so nice and bright! I agree that it’s neat when you find out someone like Sally Field enjoys stamping and yes, the best people certainly are! I’m o glad that you moved your stuff and that it’s working! The worst thing was that if you didn’t like it you could always move it back! Your card sounds fun! You need a blog to share your work!! Sunday was relaxing and I was very happy with it! Almost all caught up! XOXO 🙂

  7. Wow, what an amazing day….I visited The Ink Pad a few years ago on my first visit to NYC ….I was so thrilled to find a ‘real stamp shop’….we don’t have any dedicated stamp shops in Sydney Aust anymore which is so sad. We have ‘craft shops’ and of course online shopping. I spent at least 2 hours just looking at the amazing selection of stamps and chatting to the very friendly staff at The Ink Pad. I came home with my Ink Pad canvas bag filled and still use the bag and my stamps regularly. Thanks for sharing your great stories and cards….how lucky to meet Sally Field also.

    1. It was a great day Relle! It nice that The Ink Pad is till there! We don’t have many stamp shops left either! Michaels and AC Moore is just not the same and shopping online just doesn’t do it when it’s so much better to get to look at all of the fun goodies in person! The staff there is great for sure! Thank you for stopping by to share in my days! Yes, it was very nice to meet Sally Field!! 🙂

  8. Love this card, Justin! The diagonal striped frame really goes well with and sets off the flowers. The sequins are well-placed, pretty accents.

How *fun* to meet Sally Field! And how *fun* that Maggie got to share some fun times with you!

    1. Thanks so much El! So glad that you enjoyed the card!
Yes, it is always fun to meet celebrities, especially when they are nice! We had such a fun time with Maggie! Can’t wait for her to come back! 🙂
