Pals Paper Arts 258

Happy 4th of July my friends! I had a very nice day yesterday, work was quiet and I even snuck out early! When I got home I worked on a few projects and ran some errands. Around 6:30 I stopped by to see Brian and Kim before heading over to Sue’s to have dinner with Michael. We had pizza and garlic knots. This morning we are off to Manhattan, Michael is working at The Ink Pad downtown and I’ll be there with him so if you are going to be in the city today come by and say hello, we’d love to see you!

For today’s post I have a fun card for you for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge…

PPA 258

I have a ton of Lawn Fawn sets from class, it’s time that I started giving them a little love! Today’s card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock, the front is covered in a piece of Night of Navy. My background is a piece of paper from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack. I used the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Ovals to cut out a piece of Night of Navy for the frame, Window Sheet and some Fun Foam. They are adhered to one another with SNAIL. I put some of the Clear Sequins in the shaker that Michael brought me from Brasil and then adhered the frame to the card. The cactus and greeting are from the Lawn Fawn Suck on You Photopolymer Stamp Set. I stamped the cactus in Cucumber Crush and the pot and greeting in Watermelon Wonder. The cactus and pot are cut out with the coordinating Lawn Fawn Stuck on You Lawn Cuts Dies. Some Foam Tape adheres all of the pieces to the card. I do really enjoy a shaker card and love the fun cactus! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Pals Paper Arts color challenge and I hope that you all have a safe and happy 4th of July spent with your friends and family! Thanks for visiting! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Happy 4th of July Justin. Enjoy the day in Manhattan. Love this fun shaker card and those clear sequins, all the way from Brazil. Have fun today! ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thank you Louise! Had a wonderful day in the city! Yes, the sequins are all the way from Brasil! Fancy huh?! LOL! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. Good Morning Justin:

I would love to be in Manhattan today but not tonight. I’m sure Battery Park will be packed with people want to watch the fireworks in front of the Statue of Liberty. I would love to see that one day but I really don’t like huge crowds.

Your card for today is super. I love when you make shaker cards and no, I haven’t tried it yet but I really need to step out of my comfort zone and give it a go. Those Lawn Fawn stitched dies are really neat and color combo looks great. Love the presentation as always.

Wishing you a Stars and Stripes Saturday followed by a Super Sunday. Love and hugs my friend. XO ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Hi Grace!
The city was actually quite empty over on 14th and 8th where we were, it was nice! No, we left around 5:45, didn’t want t be there for the festivities! I too would like to see it but I’ll wait until someone gets an apartment close by! LOL!
So glad that you enjoyed the card! Thanks! You definitely need to try a shaker card! They are so much fun!
I did have a fun weekend! I hope that you enjoyed yours too! Love to you! XOXOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Cute, cute cute, and a shaker, awesome.

NO special plans for today, hubby s fixing my sons car, I have no idea but its the friont end both wheels, and parts everywhere. Got one side done yesterday, today is the passenger side. I was hpoing to see Love and Mercy, naturally its not playing today near by, maybe a quick dinner and fireworks.

My weekend goal is to play with things i have neglected and to finish up some of these kits. I have a box of new toys, luckily its a small box but its a shame. And i need to get sctapbooked photos in their albums. Yikes, I need more then a three day weekend! Take care

    1. Thank you Linda!
My dad has had days where my car has been all over the driveway! It’s great that you hubby can work on it! Did you have a lot of fireworks by you? We had a ton!
I have aspirations to use things that I haven’t and then I get new things! We all need more than a three day weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. at first glance, I see a big K O as the photo pulls up. Then I realize it’s a unintentional subliminal message…

YES! Your designs are a Knock Out! ;o)

    1. LOL! Thank you very much Dave! Your dies make making the cards a KO so much easier!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Happy 4th July Justin it sounds like a fun day you have planned! The card is cute and I love the sentiment. Looking forward to see more of your Lawn Fawn stamp sets you have. I have found a stockist here in UK and love what I’ve seen especially die sets that co-ordinate. I just bought a die cutting machine so looking forward to buying some die sets! How is your dashboard in the Sabb? I had a chuckle at that! Have great 4th July. Take care,
    Michelle xo

    1. It was an awesome weekend Michelle! Thanks, glad that you enjoyed the card! I am working on my cards for class, slowly, lots going on! I love all of the coordinating dies, they make it all so much easier! Which machine did you get? The Saab is awesome! XOXO ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. This is a fun card and I love the colour combo! Do you just buy the foam tape in the rolls Justin? I find I go through so much – a roll goes nowhere! I am loving your shaker cards and will making more of them in the future!

    1. Thank you Jean! Yes, I get the huge roll of foam tape from Amazon and it lasts forever but I do like using the fun foam, it’s a lot cheaper! ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. Justin, this card not only is delightful but it gave me such a chuckle. Thanks for sharing with the PPA color challenge this week.
