Paper Players 251

Another nice day here on Long Island! A little overcast and on the hot side, but there was a nice breeze too. I dropped the Saab off to get inspected in the morning and my friend Robin came with me at lunch to go and pick it up. We stopped at Monty’s for lunch and had some pizza, delicious as always. After dinner I went over to Scrap-A-Latte to pick up some stuff for Michael and choose the papers from this month’s cards. I came home and made my card for today and then went over to see Michael at Sue’s to drop off the papers that I picked up and have a little computer tutorial. Another good day! I’m on a roll lately! LOL! I wanted to mention that Michael and I will be at The Ink Pad in Manhattan on Saturday from 11:00am to 5:00pm. If you are in the area please stop by and say hello!

That card that I made last night is for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge…

Paper Players #251

I saw the sketch and put the card together in my head! Yes, I used the map Washi again, are you sick of it yet?! The base of the card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I flicked some Heidi Swapp White Color Shine on a piece of Lost Lagoon and adhered it to the card for the background. I stamped the sun from the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set in So Saffron on some white and cut it out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circles Dies. The circle is then adhered to some Fun Foam and Papertrey Ink Jute Twine is behind it. The banner and the car are from the Guy Greetings Photopolymer Stamp Set, I stamped the banner in Real Red and the car in Memento Tuxedo Black and used some of Dies By Dave’s new dies to cut them out. They are adhered to the card with Foam Tape. My favorite Washi Tape is then adhered to some Neenah Solar White 80lb. The map is adhered to the circle with SNAIL and the road to that with more Foam Tape. I really do like that Guy Greetings Set don’t I and now with dies I like it even more! The washi tape, well we know that I love that! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players sketch challenge! Thanks you for taking a little time out of your day to come by and visit with me! Have a great Thursday! 🙂

  1. Good Morning Justin:

You mean to tell me that there is an old car stamp with a die that matches it? The hubs would just love that. I’ll have to do a google search for Dies by Dave. I swear, I spend more money after seeing your blog every day (only kidding). I do make a wish list though. LOL

That Sun stamp from the Kinda Eclectic set is one of my all time favorites. I think it’s because of the oh so delicate rays. AND NO, I doubt we could get sick of that washi tape. It’s too unique and colorful.

My tablet is Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 with 8 GB storage and the WiFi Router is a Netgear N300. I’ve been playing with it a little every night and when my daughter comes back the third weekend of this month she will sit and work with me on it. I don’t seem to be making much progress but I’ll get there. Mostly I want to learn to use Skype but I’m not sure how familiar she is with that. I have a friend in Florida that will most likely help me once she returns home from vacation the end of this month.

Sounds like you and Michael will be doing a demo in Manhattan. How cool is that! Have fun and have a Tremendous Thursday today. Hugs and Love to you my friend! XO 🙂

    1. Hi Grace!
YES! We have had it since January but Dave just came out with the die! You can email Dave at [email protected]. LOL! I’m sorry Grace! Just remember that I spent the money first! I love Kinda Eclectic and the sun is my most used image in it! The Washi is definitely my fave!!
Ahh, nice tablet! You will get there! I taught my parents with how to use their iPhones and iPads! If my mum can learn anyone can! If I can help just let me know!
Michael and I will have a really nice weekend! I hope that you had a nice day! Love you!! XOXOXO 🙂

  2. I love the whole ‘modern meets vintage’ feel of this card Justin with the car and road/map washi tapes. Great use of the Eclectic starburst too. As for Dies by Dave – my wish list there is ever-growing, you are a bad influence!! Thanks for joining us again over at The Paper Players this week!

    1. Thank you Joanne! I was going to color in the car and then I sort of liked the comic feel to it! Dave really does have some great dies and he is a really nice guy! Enjoy your weekend! 🙂

  3. Justin,
Another Fabulous card! I finally ordered the ‘Guy Greetings’ stamp set. How I held off this long with all the awesome cards you have created with it, I don’t know. Also, Love how you used the Kinda Eclectic rays behind the car. Thanks for sharing.
BTW, love the map washi. Will never get tired of that.

    1. Hi Gerri!
Thanks so much! I love Guy Greetings, it’s so versatile and the perfect “man” card set! Glad that you won’t get sick of the map washi, I am going to re-stock! LOL! 🙂

  4. Love this card!! Love how you put that washi tape under the card. Perfect!! I think I need to make a visit to Mr. Dave!

    1. Thanks very much Michael! That Washi is my fave! Dave has some super dies! 🙂

  5. Another lovely card Justin! That washi tape is perfect. I am guessing it is exclusive to Michaels? I especially like how you have flicked the background to make it more interesting!

    1. Thank you Jean! Yes, the washi is awesome! It is exclusive to Michaels. I like the Color Shine Sprays, they add just enough! 🙂

  6. Hey Justin, love today’s card!! I was checking out how you just popped that string under there so perfectly – it would take me an hour to get it to look that good! So clever 😉 I also really like the car stamp and the ‘road’ tape, cool! So you’re heading off to London in a few weeks!?!? Why haven’t you been raving about it? You must be so excited! Do you have friends there, and are you travelling with anyone or going alone? I’m excited FOR you! I can’t wait to hear all about it and see photos (hint, hint!) Take care Justin 🙂 xoxo

    1. Hi Kelly!
Thank you! I just wound the string around my hand and then arranged it and taped it to the back of the circle, simple! Love that car and the Washi! Yes, I will be in London the first two weeks in September! I’m going with my fiend Brian and will see my family! I am really enjoying my summer so I don’t want it to go by too fast! It will be a good time but I’m having so much fun right now! LOL! There will be lots of photos don’t worry! XOXO 🙂
