Paper Players 254

Today is my Friday! Woo hoo! I’m off to Scrap-A-Latte for Michael’s Sten-Doodle class tonight and my friend Heather is going to pick up Maggie from the airport! Maggie will be here though Sunday! Yay!! We are going to have a great time! I’m working on our itinerary for the next few days and I spoke to Maggie last night. She is super excited to be coming and I can’t wait for her to get here! She is very excited to meet Michael too! It’s going to be a good time!

Today I have a fun card for you for this week’s Paper Players challenge from Laurie…

Paper Players #254

I have had the stamp set that goes with the cool glasses die and have been dying to use it! My card base is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock and the front is covered in a piece of Basic Black. I stamped the glasses from the My Favorite Things Geek is Chic Photopolymer Stamp Set in So Saffron and Smoky Slate on a piece of Neenah Solar White 80lb in a repeating pattern. The panel is then adhered to the card with SNAIL and Fun Foam. A piece of Vellum Card Stock is cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Dies. I cut out the glasses from a piece of Basic Black twice using the Die-namics Geek is Chic Dies and adhered them on top of one another with Ranger Multi-Purpose Glue. My greeting is from the same stamp set and is heat embossed in Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto the Vellum. The glasses are then adhered to the vellum and the Vellum to the card with more Ranger Multi-Matte Medium. I love the glasses and the greeting is just too cool! I hope that you enjoyed my card for this week’s Paper Players challenge! Thank you for spending some time with me today! Have a wonderful Wednesday my friends! 🙂

  1. Oh Justin – this card is so wicked cute! I love the glasses stamp and of course the die too. The color combo is perfect and your presentation is so complimentary to the card. Yippee! Such a fun card! I bet you giggled the entire time you were making it!

So, long weekend this time around. Good for you. More time for fun and it sounds like you are going to make the most of it with Maggie, Michael and spending time at Renee’s place. Wish I was there. You go and enjoy yourself and thanks for such a super duper card. Love and hugs, XO 🙂

    1. Thank you so much Grace! I did giggle a lot while I was creating it!

  2. Another wonderful card!! My daughter would love that–I must get that set and try to copy your excellent work!

  3. Hi Justin – you are not going to SU! Convention this year? I am sure you posted somewhere about why you aren’t going – I probably missed it. Have a great time with your friends this weekend – love hearing about your “adventures” & seeing pictures of New York City from a person that actually lives there – I live in northwest Kansas, almost Colorado.

    1. Hello Janet!
No, I am going to London in September instead! I had the best weekend! I hope that you enjoyed the pictures! I think that you lie not too far from my friend Andrea! 🙂

  4. Justin, this is just so “Awesome”! I love how you created your own DSP with all the glasses. The sentiment is just fabulous, too! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players this week! XX

    1. Thank you Claire! I like doing a stamped background every once in a while! Hope that you had a nice weekend! 🙂

  5. Hi Justin,
Kinda weird… I get your posts via email and this one just came today (although its a couple of days old).
Anyway – love this card. I’ve always been partial to eyeglasses and this sentiment is great too!!! And of course, I love the way you used the vellum.
    Have fun this weekend!

    1. Hello Gerri!
That is a little odd! Sometimes I guess things get a little backed up! Glad that you enjoyed the card! We all need a little nerdy sometimes! Weekend was the best! 🙂
