SIP Challenge 6 – Tic-Tac-Toe

And another Monday is done! I’ll skip over work today, just because it’s better that way! After work I headed over to Scrap-A-Latte. Michael was there preparing for his baby book class. There was a ton of cutting to do so I helped by doing some of the die cutting. We were there until 8:00 and he still has some left to do! Wait until you see the book though, it’s awesome! We went out and had SmashBurger for dinner, so yummy! After that I came back to the house and made my card for today. Another really good day!

It’s time once again for another Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge! This week we have a fun Tic-Tac-Toe board from Sandy…

SM Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge 6

I choose to go across the middle and threw in the left corner too! My card today begins with a base of Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. My panel is a piece of Basic Black that I cut out with the Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles Dies. The sides are masked off with some Post-It Tape and I then heat embossed it with the Hardwood Background Stamp in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. It’s adhered to the card with Fast Fuse. For the greeting I cut out the thanks from the Greetings Thinlits from a piece of Island Indigo. I adhered the negative to the card with some Foam Tape. My butterfly is a piece of Vellum cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits and adhered to the card with Multi-Purpose Glue. Some Black Perfect Pearls is used for the body and the wings are fluffed up a little. Finally, a few Enamel Dots from Michaels are adhered around the greeting. I made my own embossed patterned paper with the Hardwood Stamp and I love the way that the white looks on the black! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Sandy! Head on over to the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and don’t forget to make one of your own and enter in the gallery! Thank you for stopping by today and I wish you a very nice Tuesday! 🙂

  1. This is gorgeous! I love the wood background. The black, white and blue really work and using the negative of the cut out word is so pleasing. Have a great day! Nancy B

    1. Thanks so much Nancy!! I love that Hardwood Background! You have a great day too! 🙂

  2. Very nice–colors, layout, embossing–all of it! I especially like the thanks cut out showing the wood behind it. Absolutely love it! Thank you for sharing!

  3. Hi Justin:

Turquoise (oops, Island Indigo), black and white are so beautiful together and one of those staple color combos that never go out of style! I really can’t come up with a word to describe the way using any one of these colors as dominate never diminishes the effect of the other two. Don’t know if I’m making my point but we can squish it down to five words – I love this color combo. Great job and I think the tic, tac, toe challenge grid is so much fun and gives everyone a lot of latitude for creativity.

Sounds like you had a fun evening (well you always do) and I’m excited to hear that you will be traveling to London in the fall. Even though you will miss convention this year I think the sacrifice is worth it. I know my daughter loved London when she was there.

You have yourself a Terrific Tuesday and know how much your talents are appreciated. Love and hugs, XO 🙂

    1. Hello Grace!
LOL! Yes, Island Indigo! I love the color combo too! They do compliment each other really well! The Tic-Tac-Toe board is really cool, it’s one of my favorite challenges!
I am lucky that I have so many wonderful people around me! London will be great! It will be good to see my family! Missing Convention is a bummer, I will really miss getting to see everyone but it’s expensive!
My day was good as I hope that yours was! Know that your visits are appreciated just as much! Love to you! XOXOXO 🙂

  4. WOW! Gorgeous as usual. Love the background stamp, great effect embossing white on black

    1. Thanks so much Linda! I love that Hardwood Stamp too, but you already know that! 🙂

  5. Absolutely gorgeous, Justin. I love the hardwood embossed in white, I’ll have to remember to try that. Love that you used the negative die cut for the sentiment, and of course the yummy enamel dots.
