SIP Challenge 7 – Colors & Still More Manhattan!

Monday, why must you be so… Monday?! Yesterday was a little bit of a let down after the weekend that I had! LOL! Work was more irritating than usual, there are two new people moving into my office and I have seen a side of one them that I never knew existed and to be honest am sad that I have. After the torture I came home and had some dinner and puttered around in the Stampin’ Galley playing with some new goodies that I got. I also Skyped with Andrea for a little bit and even snuck in some TV. And yes, I have still more pictures form Manhattan. These are from the walk that Michael and I took along the river. There were some amazing sunsets over the weekend!

I really did love my weekend! They should all be just like that, I would be the happiest person in the universe!

What better way to start off a Tuesday than with a new Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge?! This week we have a color challenge from Michael…

SIP Color Challenge 7

A nice summery palette, wouldn’t you agree?! I know that you will be surprised but I got another nautical set in the mail! LOL! The base for today’s card is Neenah Solar White 110lb Card Stock. I cut out a piece of Soft Sky to serve as the background for my little scene. The waves are cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Border Waves Dies from Pacific Point. I flipped the negative of the cut out and adhered it on top of the other one with Foam Tape, I thought it looked neat! The extra large sun is cut out of Daffodil Delight with the Simon Says Stamp A2 Card Curved Edge Die and it’s adhered with Foam Tape. My sailboat and greeting are from the Simon Says Stamp Sail Away Photopolymer Stamp Set. The boat is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored in with Copics, I brushed some Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush Pen on the sails and the greeting is heat embossed in Hero Arts White Embossing Powder on a piece of Pacific Point that I cut out with the Simon Says Stamp Sketchy Banners Dies. A few Pretty Pink Posh Summer Mix Sequins give the card a little sparkle! I really am stuck on the nautical theme lately but I just love the sailboats and waves! I hope that you enjoyed my Design Team card for this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper color challenge from Michael! Please stop by the blog and check out the rest of the Design Team’s cards and enter your creation in the gallery! We can’t wait to see what you make! Thanks so much for sharing in my day and I hope that you have a great Tuesday! 🙂

  1. I can never get enough of your beautiful, soothing photos of Manhattan and other spots and of your nautical cards. The sequins are the right touch here. I love the waves! I am so sorry you have “bad” office mates! Been there, done that…not pleasant! Don’t put up with it; you were there first. Call them on their bad behavior and rally some troops with you. You are way too good of a person to deserve anything less. Let me at ’em! Today is another day… Love ya, Nancy B

    1. Thank you very much Nancy! I love getting to share my adventures with you and my creativity! My office mate has since gotten a little better. Sometimes you just have to let the person see that they are wrong on their own. LOL! I’ll let you know if I have any other problems! Love ya too!! 🙂

  2. Good Morning Justin –

Don’t know which I love more, the photos or the card. I can never get enough photos of Manhattan, it has so many facets and beautiful buildings and interesting parks and, and, and – well, you know.

Don’t know why you are into the “nautical” mode but I’m glad you are. I am really enjoying all the colorful sea related cards you are doing. Your photo presentations are such fun and you have a fabulous collection of staging items. That twine really looks like the ropes we see on the lobster boats. Fabulous card, as always.

As for the office mate – there’s one in every crowd. I used the old “kill them with kindness” technique and if that doesn’t work then I summoned the “troops” and let the person know that their behavior and attitude would not be tolerated. Of course both methods became a lot easier once I got into management. I know you can handle whatever it is you have to deal with Justin. Not fun but you can out last the perpetrator.

Meanwhile have yourself a Terrific Tuesday. Smile all day long, it will drive them nuts. Love and hugs, XO 🙂

    1. Hi Grace!
I’m playing catch up once again! I love Manhattan too and I’m so lucky that I get to visit it as often as I do!
I guess I am just really liking the stamp sets and the colors for a nautical card are fun! I do have fun with my props as you know!
I just ignored my office mate for a few days and she seems to be better now. She took her moving out on me. Oh well. I did take the high road and all seems to be well again!
I had a great day and hope that you did too! XOXOXO 🙂

  3. I think we all have one of those office mates. I just took overmy bosses position, I knew I’d get some pushback and attitude, but the folks I’m getting it from is shocking, Never in a million years did I see that coming. And the folks I thought would be difficult are great. I just smile and kill them with kindness, because for some reason you cant really kill them, LOL

You bought new goodies, I’m shocked!!! Love ths creation

    1. Yes, unfortunately I think that you are right Linda. I just ignored it and she finally came around. LOL! I know, I never get new stuff! NOT! Glad that you enjoyed the card! I wish you luck in your new position, they will all come around eventually! 🙂

  4. Just gorgeous, Justin! Those wave dies are on my wish list, and I love the sparkly sails!
